Issue opens with Quill being harassed by the Bad Boy’s computer interface, named Lydia. I thought the ship was Hot Rod last issue, probably not.
Quill tells Lydia that Kitty isn’t his girlfriend. They are not ready for titles, just yet.
Lydia and Quill talk about that awkward almost kiss that Peter and Kitty almost had. Would it have connected? Will they ever try again, on the ship, with Lydia’s lack of boundaries?
Lydia asks the question, we all want to know. If Quill is heading to Earth on a business trip, and Kitty knows about it and she knows that he isn’t going to make a stop to see her . . . how did that go over?
Luckily, this is a comic and we can just be shown that scene. She is not thrilled! Nor should she be. It isn’t like they are an hour away from each other. It takes some scheduling on both of their parts to sync up their schedules.
Kitty calls Quill a dumb ass and that seems to be a fitting description.
We get a hint of what happened in the Cancerverse between Quill, Thanos and the Richard Rider (the good one) Nova.
Quill tries to get his head back into the game and apologizes to Lydia. His mission is a grave one.
Then we get 13 pages of Quill v Thanos. It didn’t really keep my attention, a slew of references to truces and I’m not much of a Thanos guy. Unless he’s courting (or trying to) Death or Captain America is standing up to him. I’m sure Avengers 3 will turn me around on that.
New Xavier School. Former Weapon X Facility.
Kitty and Magik are washing dishes. Which I like that they hang out together, doing odd chores. It is probably the only time they can spend together. Though it does bring up some practical issues. Does the school not have (Canadian) military grade dishwashers? I guess, since it was a Weapon X facility, that one of the punishments for the soldiers (mounties?) was that they would have to do the dishes of the entire facility. Which could have been in the hundreds of occupants. So the school has maybe 15 to 20 people, at any time, so the amount of dishes can’t be too many.
So there’s the dishwasher issue. The other is . . . are they washing the dishes in their uniforms? Are they cartoon characters and only have the one outfit? I ‘get’ that maybe Magik has to be in her outfit, so that Legendary Star Lord readers, who are not X-Men readers, would know what she looks like in her uniform but the dialogue tells us who she is as well. Did Humphries require the uniforms or did Williams just didn’t want to take any heat for what their casual attire looks like? We may never know!
Illyana wondering if Kitty and Quill sext is very funny. They can hologram together, so maybe sexting isn’t necessary. I figure it is a term that Illyana just learn and she just wanted to use it in proper subtext.
As Kitty is the only one at the school, in a relationship, I imagine she is the talk of the land. The Great Northern Land.
Does anyone know why Tumblr posters insist on not providing full page images but on breaking each panel into an image? Seems odd as I’ve seen it both ways. Either the entire page worth of panels has been separated out or just two panels from the page has been provided. Is it a rights issue? I may have to look into it as I’m reading the Lockheed Month comics that I plan on doing and I’m planning on posting every image of Lockheed (one day I will go back and update the posts I’ve already done) but I’m not sure if I’m not suppose to post a full page (or several pages of a comic). A website over at daily scans that I like, posted eight pages and she made a reference to how many pages of the comic there were so that she wasn’t breaking the more than a third comic rule. Which may have just been something for that webhost. I’m sure someone will tell me if I’m on the verge of breaking a rule.
I could see if the issue is not providing credit to people but it is hard to tell who provided the original image. If I see one image on Tumblr, I’m sure to see it maybe six or seven more times.
Kitty lists all of Quill’s bad traits, which are numerous. It is a safe relationship, so as long as no one is committing, might as well have some fun with it.
Bobby tells Kitty that she should go outside, there is something for her to see.
Apparently, Bobby has thought he has seen Big Foot before.
Kitty, Illyana and teen Bobby head outside. Someone has made a message in the snow using flowers. For some reason, they misspelled ‘sorry’ which is the key word to not misspell. It sort of implies the apology is not sincere. Kitty does dock whoever it is points for spelling. Good for her!
Illyana looks weird without gloves, doesn’t she?
I like how Kitty doesn’t know, right away, who could be this ‘dumb ass.’ Illyana is quick to point out the list of candidates is numerous. Illyana wants to know who would hike up a mountain to do this.
Which seems odd to me as most people that the X-Men know, can just fly down or teleport down or a third way that doesn’t require actually having to walk up a mountain.
Bobby has who did it on video camera, it was Peter Quill! Kitty is sort of in love, or at least like like – maybe even forgiveness.
Last two pages are dedicated to the next villain – Black Vortex, which isn’t super interesting. Time will tell.

Feels tacky the way Magik bought up the term “sexting”. She’s not that lowbrow.
Yeah, that did seem too modern for her.
