Issue opens with Mojo being pitched a new show, Murder Television, by his Major Domo.
I recognized three of the four famous Marvel murders. Jean dying on the moon, Bullseye killing Elektra, someone being straight shot from behind, and Bucky knocking Steve out of a plane, before it explodes.
BluSky friend, and terrific follow, Jonathan Loves X-Men, hipped me to the third one is Doug Ramsey saving Wolfsbane in New Mutants V1 60. Of course that is what it is. I saw a wolf, but was thrown off by the giant green person, and I’ll admit, I thought Doug was a yellow cape of the green person. So clear once someone explained it. Thanks Jonathan Loves X-Men.
Meanwhile, in the Outback, Colossus and Betsy are enjoying a run, fun how they are both armored here.
Rogue and Dazzler are being very catty about Longshot, as he wrestles an alligator.
I really like Storm’s remark after Logan points out how people shouldn’t crush on teammates, it never ends well, and she comments about how he would know.
Havok checks in with Madelyne Pryor. I love so much him telling her that she doesn’t have to keep earing her spot on the team, she has it. She hears it, but wants the distraction of trying to hack into the Reavers’ computer. Unfortunately, she’s able to hack in, setting off the Godshreddar program.
Turns out, when Logan clawed his way through three Hellfire Goons during that segment of the Dark Phoenix Saga, he actually tore into a fourth one pretty badly, leaving only his head and hand. So, the Reavers put what was left inside of the Godshreddar, and the Godshreddar was able to take over the bodies of the X-Men. Which gives us an awesome sequence of Logan having to single handedly defeat the X-Men, and not hurt them, too badly.
Now that we have a Godshreddar, can we get god turtles to fight him? That’ll be pretty cool.
Is there a rule about Marvel created their own set of turtles? As a fun homage? Seriously, just give me TMNT / X-Men already. I would want TMNT / Daredevil first, but then X-Men immediately after.
Such a great issue! Saladin Ahmed really has Bishop, and Shard’s voices down. Mario Santoro & Reese Hannigan are amazing artists. We meet Skipping Stone in his issue, and I really noticed how great Federico Blee’s coloring is. And of course, VC’s Travis Lanham’s lettering is top notch.
Bishop spends most of the issue in shock that Shard is really here, and I love how he just knows in his heart that this is actually his sister. I have a head canon that Bishop being in the present, is changing his future, and that’s how Shard is alive. They defeat Flamequake, a mix of Pyro and Avalanche, but not before she sends out a distress signal. Skipping Stone arrives, a guy dressed as Toad, but with Fred Dukes’ powers, so he can jump far and high, but also land heavy, like a bomb, a great power set. He reveals that he has to focus on an attack to stop an attack, which felt like a very old school delivery, which I loved.
Bishop was just about to warn Shard about the trap that gets her killed, but is attacked by Skipping Stone.
I also really loved that Shard is not impressed that Bishop joined the legendary X-Men, and just went by his last name. Silly Bishop.
Issue ends with Shard about to be killed by Skipping Stone. Bishop really has to get his head in the game.
Wolverine has gotten all of the Generates to Logan’s safehouse. X-99 wants to go by X-6-7, so she has been quick to Google things. X-97 thinks the name change is a disgrace to X-67, but X-6-7 points out it is two different number / names. X-6-7 is sleeping in the room with Gabby and Jonathan, the most real of Wolverines. X-6-7 calls X-97 mid, and Gabby finally steps in, and tells X-6-7 that she can’t use her phone anymore. X-74 is going around, portaling into neighbors’ rooms, which seems to go against the very idea of hiding out. Jonathan startles X-74, and he almost loses concentration as he falls into one of the rooms, but gets himself back in time, unnoticed. Except he lands on Jonathan, so he very much notices him, and begins an attack. X-97 destroys the toilet, and X-6-7 says both cringe, and the Skibidi Toilet War is real, so even I’m losing the joy here.
Wolverine takes them all, in costume, to pay respects at the Krakoa Treehouse in Central Park. X-6-7 uses the word, rizz, when Wolverine finds a secret note. A man and his very much mutant presenting family are being harassed, and the Kinney sisters and the Generates head to Jackson Heights to help the family out. I like that the Generates are not very good at the whole rescue thing. X-74 teleported the family to safety, but X-97 threw too many, and too big of, time bombs everywhere. X-6-7 took too long trying to figure out what she should shift into. She finally settled on a giant cat, which was pretty cute.
They all get a great post-battle dinner, a Number 25, with Chicken, which does sound amazing. At dinner, they pick their mutant names.
X-6-7 will be Surprise!, don’t forget the explanation mark, just like Bling!.
X-97 will be Time Bomb.
X-74 will be Point.
Wolverine provides her origin story. Gabby mentions how you can change your codename, she’s already been Badger, and now Scout. She’s still open to a name change.
Issue ends with a thud, as in, Logan collapsed at the safe house, and we finally see his broken right claws, as I’ve been curious if other titles would reflect it. He only popped the left claws in Hellfire Murder, which I needed pointed out to me.
Such a great issue here. Giving the Generates their non-number name shows that these are characters worth investing attention into.
I got the Marvel Snap Magik Beach variant cover, but resisted paying the $25 for the card in the game itself.
Magik is part of the cast list, so I can just relax and enjoy the comic.

This is the Juggernaut issue.
Juniper, Pennsylvania. Someone jerks put up a Bolivar Trask statue. So gross.
O*N*E Agent Lundqvist is back! Possibly not by popular demand, but I like what he brings out of Cyclops.
Juggernaut is also there, in a very nice brown suit. He definitely shops at a Big & Tall store.
I like Juggernaut not missing a step to comment on how Lundqvist used to be on the big X-Men assignment, and now he’s watching a statue. I mean, it makes sense, he wasn’t very good at the X-Men issue, getting Cyclops’ to reveal his Hellions team, and wrecking several Sentinel factories.
Juggernaut tells Lundqvist that he can go home early today, as he’s going to wreck the statue, except . . . he can’t. It is being protected somehow.
Two hours later, it is still not wrecked. I would have stopped after the second attempt. Not only are there cameras seeing Juggernaut be literally stopped from his mission, but also, two hours is such a long time to fail at one activity.
I sort of wished this entire issue was just Juggernaut and Lundqvist chatting, as what were they talking about during the last two hours. They are getting real here. Lundqvist knows he’s at a transition in his career, but is confident he’ll get his career back on track. Juggernaut recognizes, sadly, that he can’t trust his judgment anymore, and is just trusting Cyclops to make all of the right decisions for him.
Three more hours later. This is just getting silly, as Juggernaut keeps trying to wreck the statue. This is hard to watch. Not entertaining like the end to Tin Cup. I love that movie.
Chris Coleman, a human who wants the statue down, is now Juggernaut’s pal to chat with. Juggernaut is the human ally who is also on the X-Men, which is good to point out for new readers who may think the Juggernaut is a mutant. Sometimes he is in other media.
It is around now, that I’m wondering when Magik is going to be seen, or even mentioned.
Juggernaut promised Cyclops he’ll handle the statue, and he’s not happy with himself.
Juggernaut can wobble the statue, so shouldn’t he just lift the thing and take it somewhere else?
Coleman lets us in on the fact that Trask lived in Juniper, so he’s unfortunately their local celebrity.
Two more hours later, so five total from the beginning of this awkwardness. Angela Harmon, the free speech advocate is now Juggernaut’s pal. So now we have to “both sides” the issue.
Angie, as she prefers over Trask fan, gets to say, “Magneto was right.” Which is always nice to hear.
Aw, Juggernaut mentioning how he eats dinner with Magneto, that’s cute. Imagine Magneto, Juggeranut, and Magik all sharing a meal? I want to see that page.
Dang, Angela, we’re no longer friends, calls Juggernaut out. Magneto is a dog, and Juggernaut is the X-Men’s pet sapien.
Juggernaut as since removed his helmet, so any telepath could be giving him better direction at this point.
He doesn’t care for Angela’s “points”. She has a real them vs us, and he’s one of us.
One hour later. This is getting beyond sad. Now the statue is talking to Juggernaut.
I apparently can’t spell Juggernaut, I keep swapping the “a” and the “n”.
The statue claims it is actually a mirror, reflecting Coleman’s shame, Harmon’s fear, and Marko’s weakness. It goes on to claim it is the Mark of Cain (get it?), the Stain of Sin, all sins.

Juggernaut is muttering to himself how much of a failure he is.
I appreciate so much Cyclops calling him an X-Man. That’s nice, especially after the nonsense he’s had to hear.
Cyclops thought it was a simple mission, but turns out, it is a puzzle. Magik says they’ll figure it out together. I really like these three together.
Magik makes a Godzilla in Ginza reference, which is odd, as she’s battled Godzilla. Did they make a Godzilla attacks Ginza, a district of Tokyo, after Godzilla attempted to destroy the Marvel Universe? That must be it.

Dang, Juggernaut is still taking the “lost” hard.
Cyclops is such a great leader, the mission wasn’t a failure, the parameters were changed. Juggernaut gave more than anyone can expect, which is why Cyclops’ can count on him, that’s what makes him an X-Man.
But also, punching it the fifth time, clearly, nothing was going to happen, he wasn’t weakening the force field. He did waste six hours, but also, waste it instead of doing what? I guess enjoying himself, but if he wanted to spend six hours doing this, sure. His manager clearly was okay with it.
Next issue is a Beast spotlight, which I feel like we just got with the Science arc, but also, we have to now set up DNX, as we compare and contrast the Tale of Two Beasts.
Polaris is part of the team, and the main credits.

Poor Bishop, he’s absorbing so much power, but he can’t release it. There’s probably a joke in there somewhere.

Nice plotting with including Colossus in a story involving siblings, with him losing his beloved sister.

Beast is bold claiming Magik wouldn’t want Colossus working with the Acolytes. Did he know her? Morph knew her enough to morph into her in episode 3 of season one.
Aw, the Illyana shrine! With Marrow, and Magneto was added later, I guess?

Colossus painted all of the photos. Or paintings. All of the photos seen, are actually paintings Colossus created.

Kurt greeted Creed as a brother. Hey, they can relate to each other with scripture.

I like Rogue not wearing a Quitely jacket, even though everyone else is wearing a jacket, and one would think, with her powerset, that she would be inclined to wear a jacket.
Would Creed do well in a mutant run trial? A Savage Land trial is better than a kangaroo trial.
Kurt wants to proof Creed can be redeemed. Oh, Kurt.
Colossus is brokering a deal. If Exodus wins the trial, Kurt will join the Acolyte. Colossus will be the judge.
Bishop and Polaris are slowing working their way to the X-Men. They think the X-Men are being held prisoners.
Polaris doesn’t have bright ideas, only fun ones. She’s so great in this series.

How much of a trial are we going to be able to see?
I don’t recognize many of these mutants.
Kurt skips the opening remarks to get straight into questioning Creed. Kurt tells everyone Mystique is their mother. Creed is quick to mention how she threw Kurt off a waterfall. Comics have since rewritten that.
Kurt telling all of Creed’s business with the Sabretooth reveal, which upsets Creed. Apparently at one point, Sabretooth scared Creed’s face. Did we see that in the show?
I like Creed acknowledging Mystique is his mother, but Sabretooth is too much for him.
Kurt doesn’t have an idea who is father is.
Mystique booted Creed as a baby, and Sabretooth wanted a cub.
Aw, Creed thought he was going to get powers at 13. He couldn’t become a hunter, or did he?
Like most racists, he had a bad interaction with someone, and has made it everybody’s problem.
So, was Exodus opening his entire case? Fictional trials are rarely like the real thing, but that makes sense with the time limitation.
ESPN Jeopardy. We’re playing pretty fast and loose with the Jeopardy brand. I still need to watch the Tini Howard episode.

Colossus was going to find Creed , and claims Illyana would have been convinced. I guess because she loves redemption arcs so much?
Back at Athens. X-Force! Doing some stealth. Whoa, Apocalypse is dead! Wha?!
Jubilee found Gambit’s Queen of Hearts card, as the episode ends.
Probably my favorite episode, and yes, because of all of the sweet Magik references. RIP Queen of Limbo.

We get to see Storm for a panel, and establish Kitty Pryde’s Cat outfit. She looks great here.

Cyclops and Psylocke get a dance, and they are very flirty. The dialogue implies she’s going to cheat on Greycrow, but actually, they have a devious other plan. To murder either 3K member, Astra or Joseph, or ideally, both.
These two have intense chemistry though. Does remind me of the Jim Lee X-MEN run, where Betsy, in Kwannon’s body, was flirty with Scott, but he was able to resist, oil licking good as Betsy was. So I like the idea that now that Kwannon is in her proper body, he’s actually attracted to the right mind in the right body.
I also love that it was Emma who insisted on Scott learning to dance. Scemma was truly the best.
Oya and Ransom find each other, and I really like these two. I wish they were not separated by 4,371 miles.

The Kitty Pryde subreddit spoiled these images, so I sort of know to expect this, and knowing there was an illusionist, that maybe Shaw wasn’t actually murdered. I kept waiting for a reveal.
I like how Kitty doesn’t recognize Martinique, she recognized everyone else, but it makes sense she wouldn’t know Martinique.
I wouldn’t want Kitty to cheat on Nina, please break up with someone before you cheat on them, that’s just gross.
I would have said I was always more of a Regan Wyngarde / Lady Mastermind fan, of the two sisters, as she’s just pure fun, and Regan is the more serious of the two, which is usually the one I’m more drawn to, but Regan has more page time, and been in more stories that I’ve read. BUT! Martinique Wyngarde having crazy chemistry with Kitty, well now, I have a great reason to love Martinique. You best know that I’m going to be listening to that Cerebro episode again with Alex Abad-Santos.
Cross referencing my League of Comic Geeks with Travis Starnes’ Complete Marvel Reading Order, I’m only missing Emprye X-Men issues 2 & 3 of the issues she’s in that I want for my collection. For whatever reason, I own issue 4, but not issue 1 either, so I should try to buy those first three issues once I’m back in the back issue buying game.
Emma Frost and Namor meet up, and talk about the Seven Virtues and Sins. These two are always a joy.
Logan and Jubilee are the stars of the issue, as they investigate the murder. The Murder of Sebastian Shaw, dun dun DUN!
Shaw was killed by a nerve gas.

With Shaw’s death, the mansion’s black market security kicks in, and Kitty helps stop some of the defenses.

So silly having Kitty be the one to say “X-Men aren’t murders.” Frank Bohannan, Director of O*N*E*, is very quick to point out that Kitty herself has killed people.
Toad points to Emma as a prime suspect, as she’s always willing to kill Shaw.

Kitty and the mutants finally get to see Shaw’s dead body, so we know he’s actually dead. I still, at this point, think this is all an illusion, and Shaw is grinning somewhere.

I love so much Kitty shipping Emma and Namor. They need a ship name, but I can’t think of one immediately. White Fish, Imperial Frost, something.
Emma doesn’t want Katherine to be crass. I love these two together.

Shaw murdered Kitty, way back in Marauders V1 11, so naturally, she is also a prime suspect, but she was dancing with someone extremely hot wearing a lily mask.
Shame Lockheed wasn’t in this issue, as he was left to drown by Shaw.

Hellion is quick to accuse 3K’s Astra and Joseph of killing Shaw. Astra mentioned the black market security system, which gives Logan a lead. He tells Jubilee she’s on her own to maintain control of the room.
I hope I captured all of Kitty’s scenes, as I look for her in every panel.
I like that we get a moment with Cyclops, he cancels the mission to kill Astra and Joseph, as the attention is on them, and Shaw is dead, and he doesn’t care about his death, he was scum.
Rogue and Gambit are cute this issue, and maybe bored with the plot? Gambit offers to make her soup or gumbo. Either sounds good to me.

I love Rogue taking the time to make an Ember reference, as he is a ghost horse.
Logan follows his nose, to Toad, but he assures us, that it isn’t what it looks like. “Jubilee” who looks like what she looks like, but isn’t her, shots Logan.
Turns out we have a new grouping of mutants . . . The Hellfire Brotherhood!
Mystique, who still has some facial scarring, so that’s nice continuity. Destiny, always looking great. Toad. Empath, who is the absolute worst. And . . . Mastermind herself, Martinque! Wha?!
Kitty would work so well in this group.
Mystique explains everything. She was aware of the mansion defenses. She convinced it that she was the real Shaw, and the mansion killed Shaw with the defense nerve gas. He was going to rally the mutants, and the ones who wouldn’t work with him, he was going to use Forge’s perma mutant power gun / technology, and remove any mutants who wouldn’t work with Shaw.
Poor Forge, that gun is his true legacy.
And being one of Storm’s exes.
I was really really hoping Martinque would have interjected with some comment about how she was dancing with a real hottie, and found out who Kitty was. As we don’t ever get them learning about the other. Which is a real shame.
Also, Shaw is super dead.
The mansion defenses finally stop, and the doors open. The room suspects 3K was behind Shaw’s murder.

I like Emma telepathically calling for Rift to get her and Katherine out of here.
Rogue has a nice chat with Oya, telling her that Ransom isn’t as tough as he looks, so please don’t hurt him. Oya was going to have the same conversation with Rogue, which seems odd, she was going to ask Rogue to not have Ransom hurt her? But sure, dialogue is complicated, and I fumble more times than I’m proud of.
I’m really liking this silly new trend of putting the credit page at the end, so that we can have a legit post credit scene.
Turns out, Emma DID kill Shaw, she just overloaded his brain, which would have had the same signs as a nerve gas, so she got lucky there. Logan will keep this a secret, just like how he kept the Hellfire Brotherhood a secret from Jubilee.
This was a lot of fun, and Kitty actually got to do stuff in this issue, so I love that.
Rogue rescues Kurt from the good aliens. Ransom directs the Outliers. Deathdream makes it so we get Zombies vs Brood.
Gambit wants to be called, Wyvern. I like Jubilee immediately going with the new name.
Mutina needs a new agent, as her current one want her to fight the Brood.
Marlys and Deathdream have their first kiss. So cute.

Vig isn’t dead. Makes sense if he’s a cockroach man.
Dang, Jubilee instructed Mutina to show the Brood their greatest fear, and for a few pages, I really wanted the page reveal to be Lockheed, their greatest enemy, but sure, Galactus is pretty intimidating.
We don’t get any drama with Wyvern turning back into his natural Remy state.

Rogue rebrands the Outliers as The New Mutants! I do like these newish uniforms. Becca looks great.
Rogue gave them a new name, and costumes, as she’s leaving to get Gambit some help.
We get Deathdreams’ very tragic past. Deathdream is 15, nice to get an age to these kids.
Only Rogue and Remy are leaving, the rest of the Uncanny X-Men are sticking around, which makes sense as Monet is supposed to be leading this team now.
It has taken 32 issues, but we have finally reunited the Uncanny X-Men with the New Mutants! That’s pretty cool.
We did get Magik in this issue! I must have missed her head thingies in the preview page.
Doom has assembled the Avengers of Doom, as he calls them, or Kang’s Kaos Krew, as Kang prefers them to be called. Emma isn’t impressed with men’s desire to name things after themselves, so shots fired at these guys, and Batman. I like Ghost Rider’s continued, “I didn’t sign up for this.”
Doom recaps what happened in Godzilla Infinity Roar, and we get the Magic panel, as she’s among the defeated heroes.
The Avengers of Doom are Kang, Emma Frost, Human Torch, Reyes Ghost Rider, Punisher, Man-Thing, Herr Kagelmacher (their gadget guy), and Miles Morales Spider-Man.
The first Earth they go to, the last costumed person standing is Red Skull, which is gross, but I love how everyone is grossed out by him. Punisher kills him, which is a delight.
We see Mecha Fing Fang Foom.

But it isn’t the end, as we get a post credit scene (which is fun as we got the credit page late)
We see Knull has assembled his Knull’s Kill Krew, consisting of America Chavez, Invisible Woman, Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, Silver Surfer, and Doctor Octopus, all Knullifed, of course.
Are we going to get the Polaris grieving episode? Maybe it was Polaris saying the “Previously On”?
Quinten Quire was added to the mutants grabbing fence part of the title sequence, and we got a X-Factor shot as well.

Are we going to get a montage of Danger watching Morph and Wolverine’s workouts.

Xavier doesn’t sense Magneto in his own mind, but odd to mention. Are we getting Onslaught in Season Three?
Polaris does know Magneto is her father.
Morph morphed into Reed Richards to use his arms as jump ropes, that’s fun.
Polaris isn’t sure if a school drop out is a good example for kids, and Xavier jokes that they have met Wolverine. That’s pretty fun.
I guess this show as done a pretty great job with showing other heroes, so maybe they can do a proper Onslaught season? Might explain why the other heroes don’t show up. Well, explains future reasons.
There’s Danger in the Danger Room!

I like that we get to see that Polaris would have handled the Prime Sentinels very easily.
The Danger Room has evolved.
Danger Room knows all of their weaknesses, both power and personality.
Bishop reaches Polaris, that’s nice.
Oh no, Polaris overcharged the room, and now we have, Danger!
I like Bishop’s “there’s always a dman killing machine.” He’s not wrong.
Danger is heading toward Genosha in a mini jet, to confront Xavier, so we’re going full Danger.
Bishop needs a partner who isn’t going to hold back? Who could that be? It is Polaris.
Is Xavier just talking aloud?
Oh, Beast, Jean and Scott are in their Morrison – Quitely suits. That’s cool.
No Cat Beast.
Why are they in these suits? Maybe because they are not on X-Men duty?
Beast’s sensor tells him the Danger Room is on its way, and Xavier looks very concern.
Cyclops is annoyed Danger knows all of their moves, so Jean makes telepathic Wolverine claws.
It is a shame we didn’t at least get a Kitty Pryde cameo here. I would have been annoyed if she was a new recruit, but at least she would have been on the show.
Xavier tries to destroy Danger with a jet!
Danger has an axe to Xavier’s head, but Polaris showed up in time to save him.
That’s fun, we get Magneto’s kid versus Xavier’s kid. A bit of a walk, but sure.
They are drawn together, like magnets. Okay, show.
Are we getting the super Sentinel?
Danger says, “Survival of the fittest.”
Xavier encourages Polaris to go full power, and Bishop offers to balance her.
I like Xavier trying to be a father to Polaris, that’s nice. He’s going to pour all of Magneto that is inside him, into her. Okay, show.
Magneto does have a legacy, and that legacy is Lorna Dane.
Danger got too powered.
Lorna and Xavier both felt Magneto.
What is Xavier going to do next?
Xavier is going to evolve the X-Men.
Xavier is starting X-Corp!
Val Cooper has her own press conference with X-Factor.
Xavier is in his grey Quitely suit from the Danger arc.
Rogue is in a grey outfit.
Xavier senses Apocalypse.

So silly Apocalypse makes clanky sounds when he walks. Just like Laura Kinney, the Wolverine.
Great episode! Possibly my second favorite of the season. Time will tell.
Next episode is Strange Land, Savage Heart, so is Xavier going to the Savage Land where he and Magneto spent their honeymoon?
