It dons on me that I mostly write about things I want instead of what I own. Probably because there is a slight sense of bragging about it but if you would forgive this, I’m going to start writing about things that I own. Try to balance things
Of this set, I only own the Kitty Pryde toy.
Her hair falls off way to easily!
So this action figure came out in 2006, and was a Wal-Mart Exclusive. I must have drove my wife crazy with my hunt for this and the day I finally found it, was amazing!
It came with the Giant Man torso and head, of course, I didn’t need all of that.
The Lockheed it comes with is pretty cool
Also a copy of Astonishing X-Men 4 but with the cover to issue 6 which is confusing!
I own this :
and it came with Lockheed!
Look how cute they look! I wish they would make more of these with Kitty!
This was part of an X-Men Collection pack. Thanks to eBay, I just had to buy the one I wanted.
I’m sure when I moved out of my parents house and into our first place with my wife, that I kept the Wolverine action figure with this but the last I saw, I only really kept the Kate Pryde figure.
I’m not that familiar with Marvel Select, does it predate the Marvel Legends toys?
Well looks like one was meant just for the comic book specialty stores (Select) and there is for the mass market (Legends).
Once Kitty Pryde was announced at the Toy Fair to be part of the next wave of Marvel Universe toys, I went crazy looking for it at Target every other week.
Then I gave up and one day at ShopKo, there it was!
She is the 17th action figure made in the line, that’s pretty impressive!
When Wizard was still printing Toyfare, in fact, in their very second issue, they offered an exclusive Kitty Pryde action figure in her classic blue uniform. I knew I must own it and in April 1997, I probably had to ask my mother for the money and she agreed (she’s supportive like that) and a few weeks later this came in!
For anyone else who may be interested in the other exclusives that they offered.
Can’t believe they started out with Molten Man of all characters.
I want this so much! Look how great Lockheed is too! Apparently these have been available since June 1, 2016 but I can’t find them at Target, Hastings or Wal-Mart. I keep looking, apparently she goes for $20 so I’m saving up.
I don’t quite understand why there is a Magneto / Onslaught helmet packaged with her.
I own this!
Apparently, at one time, they made a New Mutants line of action figures – a glorious era. So Magik finally got an action figure (and prior to Kitty Pryde too!). I like how it came with a Lockheed, what I don’t like is that it is a giant Lockheed that isn’t to scale to Magik so the two toys will never be able to ‘play’ together.
Lockheed, also getting an action figure, prior Kitty.
He gets to spit hot fire which I rarely do but it is fun for nephews to do it and launch the flame behind a couch or otherwise hard to reach area.
Apparently, you can still purchase this through Amazon and only for $17 – which seems to be a deal!
This is Illyana’s only action figure to date (outside of Heroclix) so sometimes it doesn’t pay to be first.
I own this, from the Critical Mass set
