I’m keeping this issue for the last page reveal.
Below the Surface World. Iceman is fighting off Morloids. He recalls his Battle of the Atom Ice Master future self and creates Ice Hulks and escapes the sewers. There is an awesome splash page of an homage to Fantastic Four’s first issue, minus four other characters. I like that before he leaves, Mole Man states that the mutant will tell everyone that they live down there and the first thing Bobby does when he escapes is start telling people about their mole problem.
Canada. Angel catches up with X23. She knows she is on the wrong Earth. Angel explains where he was before, she tells him it was the Savage Land. He wouldn’t have experienced it properly, until Uncanny X-Men 62.
I like how Angel opens his arms for a hug and X23 just stares at him, wondering what he is trying to accomplish and he has to explain hugging to her. She doesn’t do that.
James Howlett, the new Wolverine, followed Angel from the Savage Land to the Great White North, somehow. We get a claw on claw faceoff. He opens the door to the Weapon X facility. He explains to her that on this Earth, man created mutants – which is an amazing reveal when it is revealed to people who thought mutants were naturally created.
Victor van Damme is treating Beast to dinner. He really wants to know about his Earth. Beast tries to escape but Doombots bring him back.
Brooklyn Visions Academy. Miles’ friend Ganke, is introduced to Jean Grey. We get a retread of how teenage boys think about girls and how that can be not a good thing with a female telepath near by. I like how they have hundreds of words between the guys before Jean even says a single word.
I did not know that Miles was at a boarding school. If that is what that school is, there are dorms, that’s what I know. Jean is going to use their shower, which seems weird to me. They want to borrow Ganke’s mother’s car so that they can get to Westchester. Jean wants to use this world’s Cerebro.
1407 Graymalkin Lane, Salem Center, Westchester County. Jean tells Spider-Man that there is a huge difference between the mansion that stands here and the school that exists on her world. We get another retread of Jean saying how she is lost in time and space.
I’m keeping this for the Ultimate Kitty Pryde appearance at the end! Though with the purple tint to her hair, I’m not sure if that is suppose to be Kitty – but she is sporting a white shirt. We will have to see if in the next issue, if it is Kitty or Ultimate Armor. If it is Armor, you wouldn’t have even known I had posted this review as I would have deleted it by then.
I wonder why the X-Men are in New York instead of New Mexico where their Utopia is located. We still have no idea what happened to Utopia but maybe we will now.
