So Canada tried to make a peaceful hitch hiking robot and Philadelphia let them know how they felt about that!
Apparently the robot had no problems in Canada and Germany, so America is taking some bad press for being the unsafe country. But like I always say, a destroyed robot is a good start.
Plus, hitchhiking, don’t do it! As a father, I can’t risk being killed and as a husband, I also can’t risk losing my van to a hitchhiker.
Another thing that bugs the heck out of me, is when hitchhikers plant their feet and just put out their thumbs. Like, I would be far more willing to pick them up, if they were also continuing to head in the direction they want to go in.
One time, I had to pick up some food (or something) and in that 30 minutes, the guy didn’t move, at all, from the corner. There was also a time, when a couple had parked themselves at another street corner, for three days or so – and just kept wanting rides, money or supplies. I imagine, come day two, no one helped them, as that’s pretty lazy.
