Here is the menu for the Overland in Helena, Montana

East Helena has this great restaurant that we like eating at on Sunday mornings. Our only problem with Main Street Eats is we can’t take home one of their menus nor is there menu on their Facebook page.

So last time we were there, I took these pictures, on the DL.
So not the best quality, sorry about that, but I keep losing these pictures in my phone’s gallery. So I’m making this post for easy access.
If you go, say hello to Linda!
Has anyone tried these?
Maybe Yoplait Whips are not for me but I found the Peanut Butter Chocolate Whips! to be downright disgusting. But I thought maybe it was just that combination that I didn’t care for. Which I’m pretty huge on peanut butter and I like the cookie itself pretty well.
That was not the case when I tried the Girl Scout Thin Mint Whips! The taste was definitely an improvement and it had that nice mint flavor but the texture was still off. That’s when I realized I might take the Caramel Coconut.
I saved the Caramel Coconut for last, as the Samoas Girl Scout cookie is my favorite one, and I am looking forward to eating a slew of them in April (or late March, maybe?). I’m not sure why Yoplait didn’t just call it a Samoas as that’s what it is. Maybe so people would know the flavor profile, if they were not familiar with Girl Scout cookies.
As I was peeling off the lid, I noticed that it didn’t have the “Whip!” marketing. It is just the straight Yoplait guaranteed greatness. I went back to Walmart and bought like six more. I’ve read that these flavors are supposed to be permanent but in case they are not, I’ve been wanting to have my fill of them.
Don’t worry, Cherry Orchard, I’m still buying you too, but it is nice to mix it up every so often.
From their website –

Yoplait Whips! turns regular yogurt into a fluffy mousse-styled version of Yoplait succulence sure to satisfy even the most discerning sweet tooth. Indulgent treats have never been SO good!
Maybe I’m just not a mousse guy. Though I recall trying a chocolate mousse as a young lad, and enjoying it.
This seems to be comically missing the point of the movie! My son, Walker Dennis, loves these though! I asked him if they make him happy as he eats them, and he said that they do! So those Bergens knew what was up. But so did that one kid troll from when we first see Poppy. He tastes himself and realizes he does taste delicious.
Lately, we’ve been watching the opening scenes of Sing as he’s obsess with that film. If he had his way, he’ll start with Sing, and segue into Trolls but we never get more than 15 minutes into Sing.
Ever since I read this line from Uncanny X-Men 139, I have been curious what TAB soda tasted liked. But not that curious to actively seek it out.
Then a few weeks ago, a Super 1 Foods store opened and were selling cases of the soda for a dollar fifty. So I picked up a case.
Next, I Wikipedia-ed TAB soda, which I wish I did first.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tab_(soft_drink)
Apparently, it was Coke’s diet soda until they finally created Diet Coke. If I had known that, I wouldn’t have bought the case.
But I did. TAB tastes like a weaker cola, so it is drinkable and the other eleven cans shouldn’t be a bear to drink.

Go get some!
We finally went to Hardee’s for dinner. I got the half pound version and my wife got the quarter pound version. We also ordered a Hot Ham & Cheese sandwich, which we didn’t received.
I would recommend ordering a side of onion rings, we both did this. The burger has onion rings, but nowhere near as big as the picture shows. The extra onion rings really added to the burger.
It tasted just like the burgers from the Carl’s Jr. in Yuma, Arizona – which was great as I was hoping it would bring back pleasant memories. And it did! Just can’t beat BBQ Sauce, a good cheeseburger, onion rings and bacon. It really is the perfect ingredients! Only thing to make it better would have been if there was a double patty burger!
I went through the drive-thru and when I got to the window, I saw that the employees were wearing X-Men : Days of Future Past hats. The lady wouldn’t sell me a hat, but she may have been under the impression that I wanted her hat.
Also, she did not know when the collector cups were coming out. I thought they would be out by now, but maybe they are waiting until the movie comes out. That is when I plan on going back.
. . .
The movie comes out today, in America – its already been out in better countries. It is getting great reviews. Also, stay past the credits for a bonus scene.
I tried to find a picture with the Hardee’s logo but the Internet let me down.
Since moving to Montana from Arizona, one change I had to get used to was the differences between Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s.
Now, people will tell you, there are no real changes.
They would be wrong.
I don’t mean like how Carl’s Jr. has Mountain Dew and Hardee’s has Mellow Yellow. Though I am sure that is more of a Southwest / Northwest issue.
Gone from my favorites are the Double Western Burger (also the regular Western Burger) and the Captain Crunch Milkshake.
As far as I can tell, Hardee’s doesn’t have any menu items that Carl’s Jr. has, so it is a downgrade.
Which is why I am excited about the partnership between FOX’s X-Men : Days of Future Past and Hardee’s. The Western X-Tra Bacon ThickBurger is just the Western Burger but with bacon (they are not hiding that fact). A sandwich I haven’t had in five years.
I haven’t gone for lunch but I was able to go for breakfast.
I like that they a found a way to incorporate the bacon theme to a breakfast sandwich.
No fast food restaurant beats Hardee’s in terms of biscuits. Their bacon tasted crisp and it almost too much bacon – if such a thing is even possible. I had pieces of bacon fall off that I was able to place back where it should have been.
Overall, a good way to start the day. Not sure when I will make it over there for lunch or dinner but I will before May.
For us, it cost like $2.59 each but we had one of those awesome Hardees’ coupons where you buy one and get one free.
