X-Men of Apocalypse Alpha Gambit and various other mutants right after X-Men Omega come to 616. Which seems missable to me, unless Magik and/or Kitty are involved.
Marvel All On One 1 Thing vs Marvel, as apparently everyone is doing that these days. All told in splash pages. Could be fun, and I do see some mutants on the two variant covers, but no Kitty nor Magik.
Thor 1, as it is that time of year again. Still by Al Ewing.
Black Cat 1, but not by Jed Mackay, but G. Willow Wilson, so that’s super intersting.
All New Spider-Gwen : Ghost Spider 1, still by Stephanie Phillips. I really liked that issue with Phoenix.
Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe 2, now covered in the symbiote. Which just kills my buzz. Plus, wouldn’t the instant Godzilla uses his mouth blast, the symbiote get knocked off? No Kitty or Magik on any of the variant covers, and Black Panther, and the Fantastic Four are referenced in the solicit. I’ll get a copy if my three favorites show up at all.
Venom : Black, White & Blood 1, features a story by JM DeMatteis, set right after Maximum Carnage, so my favorite spider-writer, writing a story around one of my favorite spider-eras.
I don’t have much interest in Imperial. Though Stephanie Phillips writing Imperial War : She-Hulk sounds interesting.
One World Under Doom 6, heroes keep trying to unseat Doom, when all it takes is for him to grow bored.
X-Men : Tooth and Clay, printing the From the Ashes 13 – 18 Infinity Comic. Magik isn’t in any of those issues, so this is a pass for me.
. . .
The first comic I’m buying for August. We’re getting the other exclusive story from the Paragon Collection. Thanks to AIPT Preview pages
Kitty Pryde and Lockheed are in this, so I have to get it.
. . .
Marvel Rivals : Hellfire Gala 1, does have Magik on the cover, but like the Funko Rivals Magneto, I sort of don’t want anything to do with the game until I can play it, and me getting a PS5 seems like forever from now.
Jeff The Land Shark 3, features Psylocke and Wolverine (the boy one), so I like that.
Wolverines and Deadpools 2, of 3, vs Shadow King.
Spider-Man and Wolverine 4, the first issue was pretty fun.
. . .
I wish I wasn’t on such a budget, as I would just buy this as Katherine Pryde is part of the Opposition, but does using the organization name mean she is in the issue? Especially as it states Wolverine vs Ultimate Angel? I guess I’m worried about it just being Black Widow like from the incredible fifth issue. I should just buy it, and give it to Walker if she’s on in it. Or maybe Magik will be?
. . .
Ultimate Spider-Man : Incursion 3, Miles meets the Ultimate X-Men, so that should be interesting to see someone else write and draw these characters who isn’t named, Peach Momoko.
Ultimate X-Men 18, the conclusion of volume 3! No idea what volume four could consist of.
. . .
The second comic I’m definitely buying. Interesting that the Jeffrey Brown variant cover isn’t shown, as they revealed it earlier in the week.
I really need to get Jeffrey Brown’s Days of Future Fun, and his Hulk Teaches books. I’m hoping this variant cover isn’t too much, but that’s when eBay will come in for the assist.
I’ll skip on preordering issue 21. Odd X-Men is the title that they are double shipping for months now. Must be because of Magik.
. . .
The third comic I’m definitely buying. I need that Dauterman variant cover! Hopefully it is cover price, and not a $50 cover, which I’ve gotten the Cyclops Dauterman cover for X-Men 16, and that was essentially cover price, so I should be okay. I do love that Dani is a co star of this title. Now that we got the Russell Dauterman Magik costume gallery variant, here is hoping we finally get the Kitty Pryde cover!
The fourth comic I’m buying. I don’t love that Kitty Pryde is missing, but at least she’s on the cover. There is a variant cover, but I’ll just commit to the proper one. Maybe she’s looking for Lockheed?
. . .
Laura Kinney : Wolverine 9, Gabby is still in the title, so that’s great! Xarus, son of Dracula also shows up, which is less great.
Phoenix 14, still in the Sara Grey arc.
Psylocke 10, dealing with the Lady in White, with Kwannon’s face! That happens to her sometimes.
. . .
The fifth comic I’m buying. No variant covers, just landing with Alan Davis. The mini that got me using DCBS in the first place, which I’ve been loving. #NotSponsoredButWouldLoveToBe We will never view Uncanny X-Men 192 the same, but I just checked, and we only see Kitty hugging everyone, so not that drastic. Time will tell.
. . .
Wolverine 12, Mrs. Howlett is back, which is great! So is Sabretooth, which is less great.
Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe One Last Time 5, of 5, the first two issues were not for me, so I’m not really tracking this anymore.
Deadpool / Wolverine 8, Joshua Cassara is back! We meet new mutant, Legacy.
Emma Frost : The White Queen 3, no covers jump out at me, and I’ll have someone tell me if this is a retro series worth following.
The Thing 4, vs Juggernaut, who is back in his red outfit.
West Coast Avengers 10 is really committing to Ultron.
Hellverine 9, is really committing to Hell Hulk.
. . .
After thinking I missed it last month, Predator Kills the Marvel Universe 1 is out in August. Makes sense to not launch the same month as Godzilla Destroys Marvel. Interesting no variant covers are shown. No Kitty, Lockheed, or Magik, so I’m passing on this for now. I reread Predator vs Wolverine 4, and I loved when the X-Men showed up, especially Kitty Pryde and Dani Moonstar easily defeating a Predator, so hopefully those two show up in this, and survive, of course.
. . .
Let’s see what I’m committing to :
Wolverine by Claremont 1, either cover X-Men 20, the Jeffrey Brown variant cover Magik 8, the Russell Dauterman variant Exceptional X-Men 12, main cover Wolverine and Kitty Pryde 5 Ultimate Wolverine 8, either cover
I’ll commit to Ultimate Wolverine 8, six comics, that sounds pretty reasonable to me.
Six comics is usually $30 at DCBS, with bags & boards, and shipping, so should be fine during a tight summer.
They’re doing a great job of showing plenty of X-Men, just not the two X-Men I care about the most. I’ll probably wait until there is a cover with Kitty Pryde and/or Magik on it before committing to the preorder. July appears to be a very expensive month, so I’ll pick up this series as neccessary. BUT! If Kitty and/or Magik make an appearance, I’ll definitely get those issues as I do love a crossover.
. . .
Godzilla vs Thor so we’ll continue doing one offs as well.
. . .
First comic I’m definitely buying, as Lockheed makes his first of what I thought I saw, three cover appearances! Seriously, all it takes for me to buy a comic guarantee now these days.
Also, all I wanted from House of M originally was more School Teacher Kitty Pryde, and we’re finally getting it!
. . .
The second comic I’m definitely buying, a we get present day Exceptional Kitty Pryde and Lockheed together!
. . .
Bring on the Bad Guys event, has cool covers.
Imperial 2, I’ll wait to have someone tell me how important this is.
Marvel Knights : The World to Come 2, Namor joins the fun.
. . .
The third comic I’m definitely buying. Lockheed is in all but one of the previous four swimsuit specials, and Kitty is in all of them, so I imagine she will make an appearance in this. I’ll let DCBS decide which cover I get, but I’m definitely tempted by either the Mark Brooks cover with Rogue, or Dauterman’s cover with Scott and Jean (the cover with the most mutants on it), or Clarke’s Psylocke cover.
. . .
Wolverine Revenge Red Band Raw : Black & White 1, did people really like this mini that much? The last issue was the best one, and only because it references Old Auntie Illayana. Dani shows up not enough in this too.
Spider-Man vs Sinister Sixteen is a title I just love.
New Thunderbolts* 2, has Laura Kinney, so I’ll be reading. *Dark Avengers
Emma Frost : White Queen 2, retro series set during her Hellfire Club days, my least favorite era for Emma.
Wolverines & Deadpools, 1 of 3, I only care about this for Laura Kinney. Though I do like how silly that title is.
. . .
The fourth comic I’ll be buying. This was part of the Chris Claremont Paragon Collection, being reprinted individually for the first time. Technically, it is Uncanny X-Men 140.5, setting up Days of Future Past, hence the very clever “Prelude to a Future Past” title. Claremont writing Rachel, Sage, and a version of Betsy, and it has Magik on the cover, and I’m a sucker for an Uncanny 141 homage. Reprints 141 & 142 to make it something worth owning.
. . .
Doom’s Division 5, final issue, hopefully Karma moves to another series after this. Issue 1 was pretty fun.
GODS : One World Under Doom 1, interesting to see what Ryan North takes from Hickman’s original GODS series.
Avengers 28, has Storm, so I’ll be reading.
. . .
Frank Tieri getting me interested in 2099 again with Rachel Summers, The Phoenix, plus Bishop, should be fun.
. . .
My fifth comic I’ll be buying. Right as I was thinking about how each Hellfire Gala got worst for our merry mutants, this series was announced. I’ll be getting the regular cover as that has Magik on it, and I can only imagine her and Kitty will be appearing in this. Features Emma, Storm, and Rogue.
. . .
Storm 10, Thunder War kicks off!
Psylocke 9, often my third favorite title that comes out monthly, if not, top five. Such a great series. No reference to Magik.
. . .
My sixth comic I’ll be buying (see how expensive this is getting?!) I want Dani to never leave this title! Either cover works for me, but I rather go with the one with Dani on it.
. . .
Uncanny X-Men 17, we start getting horror in our X-Men.
Uncanny X-Men 18, I was right about how Kurt’s new lady friend was definitely pro-mutant, as we get a Mutant Appreciation Day! Be fun if they have a real world date so we can celebrate it annually.
Laura Kinney : Wolverine 8, Haymaker returns, a character I have no clue about.
. . .
My seventh comic I’m buying! Either cover works for me. Penultimate issue!
. . .
X-Men 19, Doug Ramsey and friends returns, and he isn’t Yellow Apocalypse anymore.
Wolverine 11, vs Sabretooth, ooof.
. . .
My eighth comic! I love so much how the Carnero cover and the Vecchio cover were given the same assignment. Any of the three covers works for me, as I really like the Voon cover too. I also like how LoCG puts the artist name near the image, that’ll help for ordering it. Eve Ewing found a clever way to work Ironheart into the series! Also, I’m super glad Sinister didn’t kill this series off.
. . .
Phoenix 13, now with Cable.
What If Goofy was Spider-Man? Interesting choice.
Savage Wolverine 1, getting a second volume.
. . .
My ninth comic! Lockheed doesn’t show up until issue six, but then is in the rest of the series, plus, on the cover! Ideally, we’re heading toward the Lovable Lockheed print edition.
. . .
Jeff the Land Shark 2, has a variant cover by Gonzales that features Magik, but I’ll have to wait on that.
Marvel Zero 1, which collects all of the FCBD 2025 comics, which is nice.
Spider-Man and Wolverine 3, sitting in a tree in the Savage Land.
. . .
My tenth comic! It states the Opposition, so maybe Katherine is just in this series now? We get Ultimate Darkchild, and she is on the cover, so I’m committing.
. . .
Ultimate Spider-Man : Incursion 2, I’m waiting for when the Ultimate X-Men and Wolverine join this mini before I get too hyped for it.
Ultimate X-Men 17, continues to be amazing.
Ultimates 14, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver debut!
I didn’t see any X-Men on these Spider-Man covers.
West Coast Avengers 9 is really committing to the Ultron of it all.
Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe : One Last Time 4, vs Doctor Doom, another series I’ll wait to see if any X-Men I care about shows up in.
Deadpool / Wolverine 7, Stryfe is still in this.
Hellverine 8, still dealing with Hell Hulk. Helk?
Predator Kills the Marvel Universe 1 isn’t shown?! Maybe that starts in August? That’s another series I’ll wait to see if Kitty and/or Magik show up. Kitty was in Predator vs Wolverine 4, and defeated a Predator super easily there, with Dani Moonstar’s help, so ideally, she’ll be in this series at one point.
. . .

. . .
Okay, so the list my future self is going to need :
Giant Size House of M 1 Giant Size X-Men 2 Marvel Swimsuit Special 2025, any cover besides the Hughes Avengers cover Claremont Prelude to a Future Past X-Men Hellfire Vigil Magik 7, the Dani cover Wolverine and Kitty Pryde 4, either cover Exceptional X-Men 11, any cover (any other month, I may have been tempted by all three) Infinity Paws Ultimate Wolverine 7
Ten comics, ya’ll!
Thankfully, I’m using DCBS, and they have the comics discounted, hence the D, so I can afford these, especially at Giant Size and Special One Shot prices.
X-Men by Gerry Dugan Omnibus for $150, find it half off somewhere, and it is a deal
Collecting X-MEN (2021) #1-34 and ANNUAL (2022) #1, PLANET-SIZE X-MEN #1, X-MEN: HELLFIRE GALA (2022) #1, X-MEN: HELLFIRE GALA (2023) #1 and X-MEN UNLIMITED: X-MEN GREEN #1-2.
So much Magik content!
. . .
X-Men by Marc Guggenheim Omnibus for $150, now this one I’m more tempted by
Collecting YOUNG X-MEN #1-12, X-MEN (2013) #18-22, X-TINCTION AGENDA #1-4, X-MEN PRIME (2017) #1, X-MEN GOLD (2017) #1-36 and ANNUAL #1, X-MEN BLUE #13-15, X-MEN: THE WEDDING SPECIAL (2018) #1 and X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST — DOOMSDAY.
All of X-Men Gold in one book? Yes please. I wish I had money for omnibi.
. . .
Trades
X-Men Hellfire Galas for $50 is a good deal
Collecting MARAUDERS (2019) #21, X-MEN (2019) #21, PLANET-SIZE X-MEN (2021) #1, S.W.O.R.D. (2020) #6, X-MEN ELECTION STRIPS, CLASSIC X-MEN (1986) #7 (“OUT WITH THE OLD”), X-MEN: HELLFIRE GALA (2022) #1, THE SECRET X-MEN (2022) #1, X-MEN UNLIMITED INFINITY COMIC (2021) #50-55 and #100-105, X-MEN: HELLFIRE GALA CONFESSIONALS, FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2022: AVENGERS/X-MEN #1 (X-MEN STORY), AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (2022) #9, X-MEN: HELLFIRE GALA 2023 #1, HELLFIRE GALA LAST RITES, FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2023: AVENGERS/X-MEN #1 (AVENGERS, X-MEN STORIES), IRON MAN (2022) #8 and HELLFIRE GALA VARIANTS.
Pretty much you can remember the giant moments of Krakoa in one trade.
. . .
Alien vs Avengers Trade for $20, now that the X-Men show up in this, be worth a solid read.
Amazing Spider-Man : The 8 Deaths of Spider-Man for $35, if you can find it discounted, is the way to go, some great Juggernaut content with a side of Magik.
Uncanny X-Men : Gail Simone Trade 2 for $20 is reasonably price. Issues 9 – 16, minus 11.
Mystique : Most Wanted for $18, I really liked it, and it’ll read great in trade.
Namor : Last King of Atlantis for $35, is a bit much for maybe ten pages of Stingray.
West Coast Avengers Trade 1 for $18 is pretty solid for Firestar content.
. . .
Godzilla vs Avengers. Apparently DCBS listed Godzilla vs X-Men as part of the April solicts and not the May ones like these imply, so double check that. If Kitty Pryde shows up in Godzilla vs X-Men, I’ll eBay it. This is circa the Bendis All New Avengers, so this should be fun. It will have Wolverine in it. So maybe the Astonishing X-Men will show up? I doubt it.
Imperial 1 of 4, Hickman doing more space stuff. If the X-Men show up, I’ll be more interested.
Marvel Knights : Words to Come 1 of 6, written by both Joe Quesada and Christopher Priest, so this is heavy on Black Panther EXCEPT! it is a story about T’Challa being dead, and how that changes everything. If the X-Men show up, I’ll be more interested.
New Thunderbolts* 1, I like Laura being on this team. *New Dark Avengers
Giant Size Dark Phoenix Saga 1, Ms. Marvel going back to this story is questionable. Ideally, she’ll go back a tad earlier and see Kitty Pryde, or maybe at least reference her? That’ll be nice.
Giant Size Age of Apocalypse 1, I’ll be tempted to preorder this if I knew AoA Shadowcat was going to be there, but she’s on the cover.
Emma Frost : The White Queen, 1 of 5, back to her Hellfire Club origin days, which I don’t love. There is a mole, so is she going to learn about Sage early? But is cool with it?
Death of the Silver Surfer,1 of 5, killing him off to replace with him a Lady Surfer in time for the Fantastic Four movie?
One World Under Doom, 5 of 9, I wouldn’t mind if this event ends with everyone being cool with Doom ruling, now that he’s saved everyone a few times. Issue 2 was pretty great.
Runaways, 1 of 5, always happy to see a new Runaways project, even if it is Doom related.
Doom’s Division, 4 of 5, a character died last issue?! I hope it wasn’t Karma.
Avengers 27, has the new Masters of Evil, and I love three of those members, so I’m excited to read more with them.
Marvel Rivals : Ignite 1, Peach Momoko writing and on art?! Yes please.
Jeff the Land Shark, 1 of 5, I’ll be checking this out for who guest stars each issue. No Lockheed on any of the covers.
. . .
My first lock purchase of June! Kitty Pryde is on a cover, so that gets me to buy it. I can’t wait to see what her chapter is about. Most likely her and Nina on a date.
. . .
Ultimate Spider-Man Incursion, 1 of 5, Miles is coming to the New Ultimate Universe, and Ultimate Wolverine is on one of the covers. If Miles meets a Kitty Pryde, I’m buying that issue.
Ultimate X-Men 16 deals with a new mutant cult! How many can there be?! At least two.
. . .
Okay, I might regret not buying issue 5, but I’m a lock for that variant cover with Kitty Pryde and Gambit by Sandford Greene. I’m just so happy to know Ultimate Kitty Pryde survived the third issue! It states they are returning faces, so maybe they are not in the fifth issue?
. . .
Ghost Rider vs Galactus 1 is silly.
. . .
X-Men 17 & 18, double shipping still. 18 promises to have a Magik variant cover, so maybe I’ll seek that one out by Corin Howell. 17 has a Pride cover, so maybe I should be keeping an eye out for those as well.
Storm 9 is still dealing with Eternity.
Phoenix 12, we’re getting Sara Grey content, ya’ll!
Weapon X-Men, 5 of 5, going back to when Thunderbird died, it sounds like, and promising some unexpected guest stars.
Laura Kinney : Wolverine 7, or 75 if you’re nasty. Now that NYX is over, this series becomes where we go for Wolverine/Hellion content. or Hellverine as I like to call them.
Uncanny X-Men 16, Louisiana X-Men have to save the Outliers from the darkness, and we learn more about The Endling.
Psylocke 8, seems like Magik is only guesting in 7.
. . .
I’m getting that Dani cover, for sure! Guest Starring The Goblin Queen of Limbo herself, Madelyne Pryor?! Yes please!
. . .
I’ll probably take a chance on the Pride cover being Kitty Pryde focus, as that would be a giant missed opportunity there. Or the Matteo Lolli variant, but I don’t need a Sinister cover. I wonder what Emma will sacrifice?! Probably not great timing we’re getting a villain miniseries from her right now.
. . .
Wolverine 10 promises a classic X-Men villain.
. . .
I wonder who the Dark X-Men consist of? Nice to know we have a Magik variant cover, I’ll see how much that costs.
. . .
X-Men : Demons and Death 1, physically printing X-Men From the Ashes 7 – 12, that is nicely timed with the Magik arc.
Hellverine 7 has Hell Hulk and the Hell Warriors, whoever they are.
West Coast Avengers 8, Ultron vs Ultron, and Flagsmasher has most likely been creating his own Masters of Evil.
. . .
If the Amanda Conner cover is reasonably price, I’m getting that one. Might be my first cover of hers. I don’t need another solo Wolverine cover. I wonder what status quo can Claremont be changing in a retro series?
. . .
Predator vs Spider-Man, 3 of 4, I like Kraven the Hunter being involved. That just makes spider-sense.
. . .
Okay, this feels like June will be a big month for me.
Marvel United : A Pride Special Ultimate Wolverine 6, Kitty Pryde cover Magik 6, Dani cover Exceptional X-Men 10, Pride Variant Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe One Last Time 3 Wolverine and Kitty Pryde 3, Amanda Connor Variant X-Men 18, Magik Variant
I do have to write, that using DCBS and only really getting one cover per issue, my orders have yet to be over $25, including shipping, so that’s been feeling pretty great.
My Wishlist is down to four comics, and three of those are over $30 variant covers, so I feel like my back issue purchasing is winding down, right when I’m picking up on monthly comics, so that feels right and nice.
Secret Wars, Gallery Collection, sounds amazing. Maybe not at $125.
Phoenix : The Death & Rebirth of Jean Grey Omnibus sounds like everything you would want. $150 Collecting New X-Men (2001) #128, #139-141 and #146-154; X-Men: Phoenix – Endsong #1-5; X-Men: Phoenix – Warsong #1-5; Avengers vs. X-Men #0-12; Jean Grey (2017) #1-11; Generations: Phoenix & Jean Grey; Phoenix Resurrection: The Return of Jean Grey #1-5; and material from Point One (2011) #1.
I would love to have the Krakoa era collected in omnibi format! X-Men : Age of Krakoa – Doawn of X Omnibus Vol 1, $150 Collecting X-Men (2019) #1-7; X-Force (2019) #1-8; Marauders (2019) #1-8; Excalibur (2019) #1-8; Fallen Angels (2019) #1-6; New Mutants (2019) #1-7; Wolverine (2020) #2-3; Giant-Size X-Men: Jean Grey and Emma Frost; and material from Wolverine (2020) #1.
All New X-Men by Brian Michael Bendis Omnibus, $125, is such great reading! Collecting All-New X-Men (2012) #1-15 and #18-41 and Guardians of the Galaxy (2013) #11-13.
Wolverine : Revenge is a pass for me
Psylocke Vol 1 – Guardian for $18 is a deal!
Sentinels : Necessary Monsters for $18, has an interesting premise, but ultimately, doesn’t matter.
What If Galactus for $16, I really like the Rogue story, and the Gambit one was okay. Hulk was fine.
Dazzler : World Tour for $18, I had a fun time with it. Don’t take the mystery of the main villain too seriously.
X-Men : Raid on Graymalkin for $16, we’ll see how important this was with X-Manhunt, but it had some good moments.
X-Men : Age of Apocalypse Vol 2 – Reign for $45, doesn’t make sense to me to break up each series by an issue, if I can’t read all of Generation Next in one volume, then what’s the point?
. . .
Godzilla vs X-Men 1, I really wish this was set during the 80s. Since it is the 90s, I doubt Kitty Pryde or Excalibur will be involved. If they are, I’ll buy this on the day it comes out.
Doom Academy, 4 of 5, issue one was fine but I think I’m not going to track this mini anymore.
Doom’s Division, 3 of 5, Karma isn’t referenced, but hopefully she is still involved in this mini.
One World Under Doom, 4 of 9, Doom vs Dormammu, just feels like this is a pass for me.
Avengers 26, still dealing with Doom, no Storm reference nor is she on the cover.
Giant Size X-Men 1, Ms. Marvel goes back to the original Giant Size X-Men 1. Hopefully we see Sway & Petra in this. I’m mostly interested in the Dark Phoenix, Age of Apocalypse, and House of M one-shots, but we’ll see how the bookend events work out.
Spider-Man & Wolverine 1, by Marc Guggeneim and Kaare Andrews, should be a fun time. I’ll see if any X-Men I care about show up in this.
Fantastic Four Fanfare, 1 of 4, I like the Marvel Fanfare logo being reused here.
Vision / Scarlet Witch, 1 of 5, celebrating the 50th anniversary of their wedding, which doesn’t feel right, but that’s just how time works. One of my favorite Marvel couples.
Spider-Verse vs Venom-Verse, 1 of 5, oh dear, I thought this was already started!
Gwenpool, 1 of 5, original Gwen Stacey is back, and she’s killing people. This feels unnecessary. Unless she’s going after Norman Osborn, Mysterio, and Mendal Stromm.
. . .
Wolverine and Kitty Pryde 2, with only three covers, none featuring Lockheed. I’m committing to this series, the first comic I’m buying of the month. Probably get the Alan Davis cover, but none are really jumping out at me.
. . .
Rogue : Savage Land, 5 of 5, only four covers, so that shows some restraint.
Cable : Love and Chrome, 5 of 5, first two issues have been great.
Wolverine 9, new storyarc, with Bad Marauders’ Harpoon and Vertigo coming after Logan. I don’t care for Harpoon.
. . .
Psylocke 7, since this month looks like a lighter week, maybe I’ll get this issue as Magik is on the cover, and the series has been pretty stellar. Plus, they visit Rogue’s team? That should be fun.
. . .
Magik 5, neither cover excites me, so I’ll get the Peach Momoko Design cover. I love Dani Moonstar sticking around for another issue.
. . .
Phoenix 11, who could be Jean’s long lost love?
Laura Kinney 6, Gabby is back!!! Can Jonathan not be too far behind? Please.
Storm 8, the only title to be directly dealing with X-Manhunt fallout. Thor is on the cover, but not referenced. Maggot is creating a tournament, which sounds fun. Involving She-Hulk, Juggernaut, Gentle, Big Bertha, and others.
. . .
Exceptional X-Men 9, we are committing to Mister Sinister for another month! The fourth comic I’m buying in May. There is a variant cover, but Kitty is on the main cover, so that’s good enough for me.
. . .
Uncanny X-Men 14, we learn the secrets of Haven House, and Outliers are still around, so this should be good.
Uncanny X-Men 15, double shipping, and with a Mystique cover for some reason.
Weapon X-Men 4, the first issue was very good, so this should still be good. Still needs a lady on the team.
X-Factor 10, reads like a final issue to me. Looks like NYX and X-Force quietly ended in April. Two titles that were great.
X-Men 16, I’m happy to see Russell Dauterman is still doing his costume gallery covers, this time with Cyclops. I’m hoping he eventually gets to Magik & Kitty Pryde covers, he said they are on his long list to do, he just needs to be asked by Marvel.
. . .
JMS writing a Hulk and Doctor Strange one shot is interesting.
What IF Donald Duck was Iron Man? is a pass for me.
It’s Jeff : Jeff Week 1, reprinting It’s Jeff Infinity Comics 25 – 36, and Jeff Week 1 -5. Lockheed isn’t in 25 – 36, and Week 1-5 seems to start with Spider-Man, then move onto Devil Dinosaur, then Fury Jr, and Lockjaw. Fandom didn’t post any character appearances.
Still waiting for Lovable Lockheed to get a physical printing.
. . .
Ultimate Wolverine 5, we are introduced to Ultimate Sabretooth, and I think I’m done preordering this. If Kitty Pryde shows up, I’ll buy that issue of whichever comic.
Ultimate X-Men 15, Armor is still the central focus, as she should be. I do feel a little detached from the new Ultimate Universe.
Now that I know Kitty Pryde exists, but isn’t being seen, I feel like this isn’t the universe for me. Hopefully she survives issue 3 of Ultimate Wolverine.
. . .
West Coast Avengers 7, featuring Wonder Man, who I have zero interest in.
Deadpool/Wolverine 5, is this the final issue?
Iron Man 8, dealing with Doctor Doom.
Hellverine 6, featuring the first full appearance of Hell Hulk!
Aliens vs Avengers, 4 of 4, now featuring the X-Men, who were in the second issue. Now I’m excited.
Star Wars 1, so Marvel didn’t lose the comic license, I wasn’t sure if Dark Horse offered a competing bid.
. . .
I used DCBS for my April books, and loved how easy it was, so I’ll do the same for May. Titles I’m committing to :
Wolverine and Kitty Pryde 2
Psylocke 7
Magik 5, the Peach Momoko cover
Exceptional X-Men 9, and maybe I get both covers? I’ll see what my total is.
I’m hoping we are getting a Godzilla / X-Men oneshot.
Joe Kelly taking over Amazing Spider-Man and getting a new number one sounds fun.
Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe One Last Time 1 of 5, I’ll be checking this for character appearances. Avengers, and it is a fun callback to when he was the Superior Iron Man. And Doctor Octopus is involved, so they thought of everything.
One World Under Doom, 3 of 9, everyone is mad at Doom. This feels like an event I can skip out on.
Doom Academy, 3 of 5, after reading the Midnight Suns mini, I’m in the mood for a Strange Academy revisit, so I’m hoping this series has that vibe.
. . .
I had to reread the solicit for issue one, just to make sure Karma wasn’t on that cover. Adding Karma definitely gets me interested in this series.
. . .
Predator vs Spider-Man could be fun, just waiting for the X-Men to fight either the Predator or Aliens, or both!
Marvel Rivals 1, just makes me really wish I could afford a PS5
. . .
as soon as they announced this miniseries, I took a breath to get ready for how many variants I was going to buy. BUT! There’s only one cover with Lockheed on it, so I’m only buying that Marcus To cover, and it looks gorgeous. The first comic I’m actually preordering this month.
. . .
Weapon X-Men 3 is still a title full of bros
Uncanny X-Men 13 is still focusing on the Outliers, so I like that as I love Calico.
. . .
X-Men 14 is the first cover in the solicitations that reveals we are being treated to Marvel Bullpen Bits legend, Chris Giarrusso, variant cover series. A callback to the Official Marvel Handbook connecting covers.
So I’m committing to getting the ones that has Kitty Pryde and Magik, if those two show up on any of them. We got Lockheed, so I feel like their chances are high.
I’m excited to see what the huge image is going to look right.
also, Magik should be in this issue of X-Men, so that’s nice.
X-Men is double shipping too, which I’m not sure if this title needs that treatment.
. . .
Phoenix 10, probably has my favorite supporting cast in comics right now. Phoenix vs new friend, Adani.
Storm 7, she’s battling all of the thunder gods, minus Throg.
NYX 10, vs Mojo
X-Factor 9, Archangel is back, but even more devilish looking
Psylocke 6, I like the solicit being purposely vague.
X-Force 10 is also X-Force 300, proving why legacy numbers are important. Another X-Title where the overall plot isn’t doing much for me, but it has Rachel Summers, and I want to read her adventures, so here I am.
Laura Kinney : Wolverine 5, guest starring Winter Solider
. . .
Kitty is on both covers, and I have been missing getting Carnero’s proper cover, so maybe I’ll get that one. This is where I would love if I had a comic store closer to me than being an hour and a half away (one way). But there is also the Giarrusso variant to consider. I might preorder the Carnero cover, and if the Giarrusso cover features Kitty (could not happen, as many of these covers don’t relate to the title character(s)) get that one. Poor Axo already getting a clone, and having to deal with Sinister. My third issue I’m preordering.
. . .
Wolverine 8 is also Wolverine 400, so fun!
Sabretooth : Dead Don’t Talk, 5 of 5, this is ending.
Cable : Love and Chrome, 4 of 5, penultimate issue.
. . .
Hopefully you, dear reader, enjoy just having the image, I’m liking how clean this looks.
I’m definitely not buying the Campbell cover, so I’ll blind preorder either the Momoko or Resch cover. Dani Moonstar is guesting in this issue, so it’ll be nice if either of those covers feature her. My fourth issue I’m preordering this month. If this title was simply a team-up title for Magik, that would be enough for me.
. . .
Kid Juggernaut 1, is printing the digital Marvel Voices that didn’t feature any of my favorite characters, but nice it is getting a physical copy. I’m still waiting for Lovable Lockheed to get a physical copy.
Rogue Savage Land, 4 of 5, the variant covers keep being full of cheesecake, but the interior for issue one was delightful.
Ironheart : Bad Chemistry 1, so that there will be a trade by the time the show comes out on June 24, 2025 (a day before my lovely wife’s birthday)
. . .
Ultimate Wolverine 4. Ultimate Kitty Pryde is referenced in the solicit, but it reads like she won’t be in this issue. I’m going to preorder that sweet Magik solo cover, so even if Kitty isn’t in it, I’ll still get that Ultimate Magik content I crave. My fifth issue of the month. Hopefully Kitty survives issue 3, if she dies, I’m going to be done with this Ultimate Universe. I’ll casually follow Magik’s adventures, but my heart won’t be in it.
. . .
Ultimate X-Men 14, Shadow King is still the ongoing threat of the series. I do feel bad for how much I was enjoying this series until Ultimate Wolverine came out, and started featuring the mutants I love.
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur turn 10! That’s pretty cool.
. . .
The sequel to Dazzler’s previous miniseries, but now we’re having a fun play of Contest of Champions with Concert with Champions. Dazzler and all of the musically inclined characters are going on the road!
. . .
Deadpool / Wolverine 4, they are fighting Stryfe. Going to look amazing with Joshua Cassara’s art.
Every month, I scroll right pass the Spider-Man titles, and there are so many of them, yet, not a one that stands out to me enough to get interested.
West Coast Avengers 6, vs Avengers
Iron Man 7, issue 4 didn’t have any Emma Frost content, so we may have moved on to what I was looking for any crumb to hold onto.
TVA, 5 of 5, 2 felt like a step down from 1’s surprising high quality – too much TVA business for me, so I’m clearly in the minority, but it has Gambit and Jimmy Hudson, so I’m committed to finishing the series.
Hellhunters, 5 of 5, final issue.
Hellverine 5, vs Mephisto
. . .
April 2025 has me buying the most comics, and for five months at least, that is going to be the number.
Wolverine and Kitty Pryde 1, the Marcus To variant X-Men 14, the Chris Giarrusso Lockheed variant Exceptional X-Men 8 (cover to be determined) Magik 4 (cover to be determined) Ultimate Wolverine 4 (the solo Magik cover)
Godzilla vs Fantastic Four, 1 of 6, is a real choice, but I imagine the hope is that the trade is ready by the time their movie comes out in July? Plus, it promises to involve the entire Marvel U Actually it is 1 of 6 one shots, so hopefully the X-Men get their proper one-shot, but we’ll be checking for all of the Kitty Pryde, Lockheed, and Magik content
One World Under Doom 2 of 9, lots of Fantastic Four content, and then the Avengers get thrown in at the end. I’ll continue to await X-Men tie-ins
Fantastic Four 30, I love the idea that one way for Doom to defeat the Fantastic Four is to cure Ben Grimm of being the Thing. How to be a jerk, but also a good guy, but also also, weaken her main foes? Doom figured it out.
Doctor Strange of Asgard 1, now that he’s out of being Sorcerer Supreme, he’s gone to Asgard to be the best there.
. . .
X-Manhunt, like X-Man, and Manhunt, combined, for seven parts!
From how it reads, you just need maybe the first issue, and then the ongoing title you are already reading, and then it all concludes in its own one shot. That’s how it reads to me anyway.
Uncanny X-Men 11, is part 1. Emma is on the cover to represent Exceptional X-Men. I love that Luciano Vecchi Calico variant, and I really hope he can do this series of covers for Exceptional X-Men, I would buy them over the regular covers, no doubt – especially the Kitty Pryde cover
NYX 9, is part 2. Xavier runs to New York City.
Storm 6, is part 3. Xavier runs to Atlanta City. Maggot is on the cover, so that’s cool. X-MEN are also appearing, so Magik content, hopefully.
X-Men 13, is part 4. X-Men and Storm, still chasing Xavier, possibly not to Alaska.
X-Factor 8, is part 5. Cyclops blasting Havok unnecessarily.
X-Force 9, is part 6. Sage confronts Xavier. Apparently there is a X-Manhunt connecting cover, have to see what that looks like.
Exceptional X-Men 7, is part 7. Which is very pleasing on the eyes. I don’t love that Exceptional’s new villain has already been spoiled to be an old villain before he even made his (not) first appearance. I can’t say I’m super drawn to the proper cover, nor the Kimoko cover, even if it is done by Peach Momoko. So I guess that leaves the Rickie Yagawa cover for me, or whatever cover Rian Gonzales has. But I’m ordering this issue no matter what I wonder if Gonzales has the Iceman cover I saw, that connects with the other covers to show the Original Five X-Men, plus Xavier.
X-MANHUNT OMEGA #1
GAIL SIMONE & MUREWA AYODELE • GLEB MELNIKOV (A/C) X-MANHUNT CONNECTING VARIANT COVER BY PHIL NOTO VARIANT COVER BY DAVID MARQUEZ VARIANT COVER BY TONY DANIEL PROFESSOR XAVIER VARIANT COVER BY EDWIN GALMON
X-MANHUNT FINALE!
The X-MANHUNT concludes as Professor X reaches his destination, and his assorted pursuers, friend and foe alike, catch up with him!
Alliances will be battle-tested, the blades of betrayals will cut deep with poisoned tips and, when the dust finally settles, Charles Xavier will have to make a tectonic-shifting choice with the fate of all mutantkind in the balance.
The world is about to change. This time around, everyone is wide awake.
48 PGS./ONE-SHOT/Rated T+ …$6.99
I’m also on board for buying the finale, as Kitty Pryde is on the cover. Which makes sense as her series is the penultimate issue. She should be sticking around. I’m calling it now, Xavier just ends up back in prison at the end of this
. . .
What if Mickey and Friends Became the Avengers? Wake up me up when Disney and X-Men pair up again.
The Thing, 1 of 5, launches as Ben loses his ability to be the Thing. So that’s perfect timing.
Nick Fury vs Fin Fang Foom, is just a fun concept
Web of Spider-Verse vs Web of Venomverse, so all Spider-Titles are unreadable for the foreseeable future
Wolverine 7, with both Wolverines, and a promise of a key appearance
Weapon X-Men 2, still delivering on their premise of being a sausage feast.
Laura Kinney : Wolverine 4, has Winter Soldier appearing
Rogue : Savage Land 3 of 5, seems to exist just for the variant covers
Cable : Love and Chrome 3 of 5, if this is your thing
Phoenix 9, still fighting Thanos
. . .
I sort of love the good girl/Darkchylde cover by J. Scott Campbell, that’s probably the one I’m going to get. I have to make sure not to buy my copies too early so that I give myself a chance to see all of the covers.
. . .
Psylocke 5, she’s poisoned, months after Storm was poisoned, that doesn’t seem great
Uncanny X-Men 12, the first issue post-crossover, and we focus on Gambit
. . .
ULTIMATE WOLVERINE #3
Chris Condon • Alessandro Cappuccio (A/C)
ULTIMATE SPECIAL VARIANT COVER BY LEINIL FRANCIS YU
VARIANT COVER BY NIC KLEIN • VARIANT COVER BY MATEUS MANHANINI
VIRGIN VARIANT COVER BY MATEUS MANHANINI
WOLVERINE VS. GAMBIT & KITTY PRYDE!
The Winter Soldier leads a strike against two members of the Opposition: Kitty Pryde and Gambit! But do the duo recognize the man behind the mask?
32 PGS./Rated T+ …$4.99
I have to buy issue 2 on eBay, as I can only imagine Kitty Pryde shows up as a last page reveal in that issue, if she’s on the cover to issue 3. With all due respect to Peach Momoko’s excellent Ultimate X-Men series, BUT! this is the series I’ve been waiting for. I’m getting the Kitty cover, for sure. Not sure why anyone would want the other cover options. This is definitely leading up to Magik v Kitty, and I’m not sure I’m ready for this. I’m beyond excited to see where Kitty goes from here, this is the Ultimate Universe for me now.
. . .
Ultimate X-Men 13, starts its second year, and Armor and Maystorm are not getting along.
Amazing Spider-Man 69, 8 Deaths of Spider-Man is still moving forward, so I was too hasty in writing off the line. X-Men are referenced, so maybe we’re still getting Magik in this?
Amazing Spider-Man 70, Spider-Naut! Cain Marko gets added to the Spider-Mythos, even more so.
I thought it said Spider-Gwen : The Worst-Spider, and thought we were going into a different direction for issue 11.
West Coast Avengers 5 has a variant cover that is just Firestar and Spider-Woman, so they know their audience. Stevil is back, and harassing the team.
Daredevil : Unleash Hell 3 of 5 has an intense classic Electra cover by Ivan Talavera.
Pooluminati 1, is just a fun word to try to pronounce.
There’s been a few April Fool variant covers, and Marvel Fanfare 15 which has April Fool content. I’m not one for pranks.
TVA 4 of 5, has both Gambit (from a sad universe where Rogue died) and Jimmy Hudson, from the original Ultimate universe. Issue 1 was pretty fun.
Avengers 24, Black Cat AND Storm, on the same team? Yes please
Deadpool 12 and Miles Morales Spider-Man 31 are crossing over.
Sabretooth : The Dead Don’t Talk 4 of 5, I debate if I want a Sabretooth Funko Pop. There are only 9 X-Characters I’m missing, so I should get him toward the end.
Namor 8 of 8, this finally ends. Stingray has missed both issues 4 and 5, and with him, my esteem for this series.
Hellverine 4, still no Aurora mention, but issue 1 was very solid.
Daredevil 19, has Murdock making a decision that will rock the Marvel U, and I’m calling it now, it isn’t going to rock the X-Side
Hopefully once we get marketing for Aliens V X-Men, we’re told the (main) cast pretty early on, so I can secure my copies.

I’m not sure who would want the Rhino hugging Spider-Man cover.

EXCEPTIONAL X-MEN BY EVE L. EWING VOL. 1: DUTY CALLS TPB
Written by EVE L. EWING
Penciled by CARMEN CARNERO
Cover by CARMEN CARNERO
From the ashes of the Krakoan era, Kate Pryde finds fresh purpose!
After the fall of Krakoa, Kate Pryde is trying to get as far away from all things X as she possibly can. She’s just a regular bartender now. She’s not getting ready to head up an all-new team of wayward young mutants. Nothing in this title but work, dating and staving off depression. That’s it. No never-before-seen Exceptional X-Men to see here! Except Kate’s continued attempts at living a normal, non-mutant life go laughably wrong as she finds herself in the middle of a brawl started by a couple of headstrong teens with remarkable abilities — which, of course, they’re terrible at controlling. She’s sworn off being anybody’s teacher, mentor, professor, sensei or anything that reminds her of her old life. But will the White Queen force her hand? Collecting EXCEPTIONAL X-MEN #1-5.
120 PGS./Rated T+ …$17.99
ISBN: 978-1-302-95939-5
Trim size: 6-5/8 x 10-3/16
buy this, at $18, it is a steal!
. . .
Wolverine Deep Cut for $18, even throwing in Uncanny X-Men 246 and 251, I’m not sure, of the four main issues, I really enjoyed the first two, then it falls part when it delivers on the premise of the title.
Earth X, new printing, for $45, not bad.
Wolverine : Enemy of the State for $40 is a good deal too, better if you can get it half off somewhere.
. . .
Ideally, I don’t have to get all of the issues of X-Manhunt
Here is what I’m committed to buying as soon as I can get options on eBay :
We kick off the nine month One World Under Doom Event, so we’ll see how involved any of the X-Men get.
Strange Academy is being turned into Doom Academy, which makes sense as Doctor Doom is the Sorcerer Supreme. Be nice if Magik showed up in any of these five issues.
Storm 5 has her dealing with Doom
X-Factor 7, Angel is back to leading, and he’s taking the team up against Doom. Be nice if Feral can be back too.
Red Hulk 1 just in time for Captain America : New World Order. I had not given it much thought that we’ll get a lot of Captain America and Red Hulk content.
Weapon X-Men 1, with a team featuring Chamber, which is cool, but that’s the only one on the roster to get my interest. At least it takes place in the main continuity.
Eddie Brock is the new Carnage, that should confuse some character profiles.
Captain America & Volstagg seems like a silly time.
Women of Marvel : She-Devils has Laura on the team, that seems fun. I could go for more of these minis.
Marvel Mutts 1 is collecting the digital comic in one place. Which I like as that means I can check fandom for any Lockheed appearances ahead of time. Marrow in issue 8 seems fun. No Lockheed appearances though.

Who could the fugitive be?! Also, looks like the Graymalkin crossover didn’t leave any after effects, or they are choosing not to address anything.
. . .
Mystique ends with issue 5. As does Sentinels.
X-Men double ships with issue 12, which is awkward as they placed two series between these issues. 12 has Alpha Flight. Including Aurora, so that’s cool.
Wolverine 6 has Nightcrawler and Laura, so now I’m interested.
NYX 8, Laura and Hellion have a confrontation. Which seems very juicy.
ugh, X-Force 8 has Colossus, is he Tank? At least he didn’t join X-MEN.
Uncanny X-Men 10, the Outliers can’t catch a break as they are being hunted.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #68.DEATHS
CHRISTOS GAGE • MARK BUCKINGHAM (A/C) VARIANT COVER by TBA
THE 8 DEATHS OF SPIDER-MAN CONTINUES!
With Spider-Man now DEAD, it’s up to the X-Men to win the day and save the universe.
But why are they fighting EACH OTHER?!?!
32 PGS./Rated T …$3.99
Having Magik in a Spider-Man comic is a sure fire way to get me to read a Spider-Man comic.
seems confusing there is a regular issue of 68 and 68.DEATHS that we’re interested in. Like when Marvel tried to do the .1 initiative, but still had an Uncanny X-Men 461, and a 461.1. Some titles just had the .1 and others tried to do both. Very complicated.
I do like Spider-Man and Juggernaut being in the same story again. That sounds fun.
. . .
Daredevil is under the Spider-Office? That’s interesting.
Avengers 23, Black Cat may be joining the team, and I would love to see Felicia interact with Storm.
Sam Wilson : Captain America 2 has him fighting Red Hulk, that’s good timing.
Scarlet Witch 9 has Black Cat in it too. What a month!
Marvel is really committing to red band comics with Daredevil, Warwolf by Night, and Blade.

. . .
Rogue : Savage Land also seems like months too late.
Cable : Love and Chrome, for all those who felt they were missing Cable when he wasn’t around for the relaunch.
Marvel & Disney : What If : Mickey Mouse and Friends were the Fantastic Four? I’m passing on this as the last two were not stellar or that cute.
Doctor Doom & Rocket Raccoon 1. I wasn’t that impress with Doom in Avengers 19, so I feel like I’m in for a very long two years of Doom centric stories.

I want that Kitty cover!
oh no, I hadn’t even thought about the public learning about Kate killing all of those Orchis jerks! This is going to be real bad, ya’ll Reading it one more time, maybe Emma just lets it slip OR! Emma is doing a telepathic training, and Kitty’s thoughts wander for all to see.
. . .
X-Factor 6, Frenzy at Havok’s throat?! Yes please
X-Force 7, Rachel & Betsy are getting the focus of the issue! YAASSS!
X-Men Xavier’s Secret 1, ugh that title. Sally Floyd is interesting. I checked fandom, as this collects X-Men From the Ashes Infinity Comics 1-6, and no Kitty Pryde, so no interest in this from me.
Red Band comics are here to stay for a little long, eh?
Avengers 22, Black Cat joins the team?! With Storm?! and Captain Marvel and Scarlet Witch?! What a line up!
. . .
So that’s January 2024. What are you most excited for?

And what of the mysterious figure they have been keeping prisoner?
Hisako and her friends face a new world order as the raid leaves mutants unleashed!
32 PGS./Rated T+ …$4.99
Looks like the X-Men are being brought into the larger Ultimate Universe with the Maker’s Council (I wonder if its Quiet, and who is on it?)
Viper made her appearance in this month’s issue 7.
. . .
I like how this website lists West Coast Avengers because Firestar joins the roster.
Sabretooth : The Dead Don’t Talk 1 of 5 starts. Like Sinister, Sabretooth is a tough sell for me. Frank Tieri is writing, so its probably going to be as violent as I think it will be.
Storm 3 has both Uncanny X-Men (so hopefully Kurt and Ororo chat!) and Brother Voodoo.
Psylocke 2, oh no, something happens and Psylocke is off the X-Men! Hopefully that doesn’t mean Magik leaves that title too. Actually, I guess that’ll be one less title to buy, so maybe I am okay with that.
Mystique 3 of 5, she’s in Madripoor, which I love, and fighting against SHIELD, which I’m also a fan of.
Sentinels 3 of 5, them vs Magneto, so let’s hope Magneto wipes the floor with them. Is he still confined to his chair? Does that give them an edge? Or simply a false sense of confidence?
. . .
We kick off the Raid on Graymalkin four parter between X-Men and Uncanny X-Men with X-Men Issue 8. I’m hoping Magik gets a lot of attention in this crossover. I also really appreciate the crossover being focus between two titles, and only four parts, that’s very considerate. Very mindful.
Such a gorgeous cover for Uncanny X-Men 7, Part 2 of the event.
X-Men 9, still double shipping, contains Part 3.
NYX 6, giving us the Dazzler content after her only four issue mini wraps up.
Phoenix 6, Jean Grey vs Thanos and the Black Order
X-Factor 5, someone on the team is going to die, as X-Term attacks. Hopefully it isn’t Frenzy or Dr. Celicia Reyes.
Dazzler 4 of 4 wraps up the tour, I wouldn’t mind if she joins NYX, but she’ll probably be placed on a shelf pending on how well her mini sold.
. . .
EXCEPTIONAL X-MEN #4
EVE L. EWING • CARMEN CARNERO (A/C) ICEMAN VARIANT COVER BY CHRIS CAMPANA VARIANT COVER BY AKA MELEE VARIANT COVER BY DAVID BALDEON MELEE VIRGIN VARIANT COVER BY DAVID BALDEON WINTER HOLIDAY VARIANT COVER BY MARGUERITE SAUVAGE
LO, THE ICEMAN COMETH!
But Kitty Pryde suspects that her old comrade Bobby Drake isn’t being entirely honest with her. And our all-new hero BRONZE faces her first big solo battle and also has to interact with a person she has a crush on! Which is worse?!
32 PGS./Rated T+ …$3.99
I wonder what the Holiday Variant will be? Kitty isn’t on the proper cover or the Melee cover (which makes sense) so hopefully she’s on one of these.
Sounds like it will be a great issue. I especially like how it sounds like Kitty isn’t dragging her feet with her commitment to the team.
. . .
X-Force 6 promises to be spicy with Forge reunited with BOTH! Storm and Mystique, that should be fun. Especially as Mystique just wrapped up her mini. She could join the team.
Wolverine 4, I thought Constrictor, briefly seen in issue 1, was Sabre, but is Constrictor. Who has a similar mask, to my credit. Still, unless there is a guest star, this title isn’t for me.
All of those Deadpool/Wolverine back ups I didn’t want to pay extra for, are now being reprinted in their own miniseries, which is an interesting idea for a series. A double dip if someone isn’t careful, then they’ll be printed again in a proper trade. That’s definitely one way to do it. Weapon X-Traction, is at least a fun title.
Wolverine Revenge 5 of 5 wraps up.
. . .
Dang, Cyclops’ team has to fight Rogue’s Uncanny X-Men AND Captain Marvel’s Avengers (now with Storm!), that’s a tough month. At least Magik is on two covers, that’s nice.
. . .
Marvel finally completes reprinting the original Secret Wars with issue 12, which has Lockheed, so that’s great.
Blood Hunters 5 of 5, oh no, Dagger may die in this issue! I don’t love that for a final issue that definitely wants to leave a lasting impression.
PetPool : Pool Party 1 promises to have all of the Pool-related animals in it, and I am a sucker for an animal companion.
Iron Man 3, written by Spencer Ackerman, who is the guest on the latest episode of Cerebro for the Namor, I still have an hour left to listen, but it has been a delight.
Conquest 2099, 4 of 5, Spider-Man (I imagine the 2099 one) and Logan shows up! Which makes me wonder how they explained Logan not being around the first time? Him being there would have made me read X-Men 2099, instead of skipping it. I did read the fandom summary of each issue, hoping any of them had a Kitty Pryde reference, but none did until very recently.
oh, and issue 5 wraps it up. Madame Web 2099 debuts!
Marvel Zombies : Dawn of Decay 5 of 5 wraps up that Groot mini.
Namor 5 of 8 is still moving along.
. . .

X-MEN EPIC COLLECTION: GOD LOVES, MAN KILLS TPB
Volume #10 in the X-Men Epic Collections
Written by CHRIS CLAREMONT Penciled by PAUL SMITH, BRENT ANDERSON & FRANK MILLER with WALTER SIMONSON, JOHN ROMITA JR., MICHAEL GOLDEN & BRET BLEVINS Cover by PAUL SMITH
ON SALE 12/24/2024
One of the all-time great Marvel stories is just one part of a golden era for X-Men storytelling!
By 1982, the X-Men had become the biggest franchise in comic books. The engine driving it all was UNCANNY X-MEN, where Chris Claremont’s deft character work and potent exploration of the mutant metaphor captivated readers. Claremont continued to find new dramatic heights with artist Paul Smith as they unfurled the growing romance between Kitty Pryde and Colossus, the first appearances of Callisto and the Morlocks, Rogue’s debut with the team and the wedding of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor! Claremont’s writing rose to find perhaps his most poignant and challenging expression in his graphic novel with artist Brent Anderson, “God Loves, Man Kills.” Meanwhile, he collaborated with Frank Miller on the first Wolverine miniseries, which rocketed the character’s popularity into the stratosphere!
So weird they went with God Loves, Man Kills for the title of this, when it should just be From the Ashes, and with the current relaunch, one would think that would only help sell this volume. Or call it the Paul Smith era, besides his concluding chapters of The Brood Saga.
. . .
West Coast Avengers 1 has my attention with Gerry Duggan and Firestar as members, and Jessica Drew doesn’t hurt either.
Marvel / Disney What If Minnie Mouse became Captain Marvel is pretty cute
Wolverine 3, is more Weapon X nonsense, but there’s an unlikely alley, and old enemies, so I’m a little curious who those characters are.
Psylocke getting an ongoing gives me hope that Magik’s ongoing is soon to be announced.
X-Factor 4 promises a Dr. Celicia Reyes plot.
Storm is already dying in her second issue
Mystique 2 of 5, she’s on the run from Nick Fury, and asking help from an old Brotherhood member. I imagine it isn’t Destiny, as she would have been named, so maybe Pyro?
Sentinels 2 of 5, going to take more than Shaw to get me interested in this series.
Dazzler 3 of 4, Lila Cheney & Dazzler in Japan! This should be fun
X-Force 5 might have a death of a team member! hopefully it isn’t Rachel.

I want those two Kitty Pryde covers!
Note the lack of Lockheed on these covers, hmmmm
Dang, issue three, and Kitty Pryde is still resisting, I was hoping she would be on board by now.
At least we’re going to get some Melee content
. . .
NYX 5 is still dealing with Empath and his Quiet Council, hopefully he’s being kind to Mindee
Phoenix 5 is still in deep space
Uncanny X-Men 5 concludes their Red Wave arc, my second favorite title of the relaunch thus far, but it is double shipping with issue 6 as well, where their new mutants start a school in Louisiana. Probably a smart idea to not put all new mutants in one place.
X-Men 7, we learn the history of Merle, Alaska
Negasonic Teenage Warhead gets a one shot.
Venom War finally ends

Wolverine Revenge 4 of 5, I still don’t see Dani Moonstar on the covers, so that isn’t great
Avengers 20 still has Storm, thus, still has my attention
