I recall that this song sounded awfully similar but I couldn’t place it. I sort of like the song, so I wouldn’t have minded listening to it if I ever was linked over to it.
It wasn’t until I was on the GameFAQs Chrono Trigger page, that someone commented that it shared the same beats to Robo’s Theme
Thanks to YouTuber Squee36 for hosting the video and possibly, mixing the two songs.
Ever since, the two songs are forever linked in my mind.
Above is a fun interview wherein Yasunori Mitsuda is first shown the Rick Astley classic.
Never Gonna Give You Up came out in 1987
Chrono Trigger came out in 1995
Fun how two different men in two different countries (in two different decades) can come up with the same melody. Glad Astley and his team didn’t try to shut down the theme song, once people started talking about it.
My love for Freddie Prinze Jr. started way back in 1999’s mega hit, She’s All That
Thanks to YouTuber playplay90sVHS for hosting the video.
There is something about how intense FPJ is as Zack, as he tries to balance the hacky sack and how it is a complete metaphor for the pressures that he is under. Such a fantastic scene.
I may have seen I Know What You Did Last Summer and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer but he wasn’t the star of those films. Though those films are awesome if you are a Sarah Gellar or a Jennifer Love Hewitt fan.
She’s All That, gave us Rachel Leigh Cook – who only really remember from when she played the Joey character in Dawson’s first real movie and from her excellent turn in Anti-Trust. Which is still the only film I really like Ryan Phillipe in.
She’s All That also gave us the first of many times when Matthew Lillard and Freddie Prinze Jr acted together. Such a fun duo these two actors are when they get to play off of each other as teammates or rivals.
She’s All That has an outstanding cast – Paul Walker, Kevin Pollack, a very young Anna Paquin, Jodi O’Keefe of Prison Break Fame (the lousy third season), Dule Hill and Tim Matheson (West Wing Represent, yo!) and it even has Lil’ Kim AND Usher! Gabrielle Union is also great in it as is Chris Owen. Even Elden Henson of Mighty Ducks fame and soon to be Netflix’s Daredevil’s Foggy Nelson, is in this as the best friend to Rachel Leigh Cook.
Before he was a named actor, he was in a movie titled, Hostage High, wherein Ricky Shroder takes his old high school hostage, at gun point, and the sheriff played by Henry Wrinkler.
I wasn’t a big fan of Wing Commander, I blame not really knowing the game that it was based off of and not being the biggest space movie fan.
Down To You, I simply adore, as I’m also a huge Julia Stiles fan. There is just something about her that is super intoxicating and I seek out any new film of hers. FPJ needs to do more romantic comedies, and I believe his career was hurt when he tried to get away from that. He could be the next Tom Hanks!
Boys and Girls is still a personal favorite of mine. This may be a favorite movie of mine for all the cast members – Claire Forlani (though I may still give Mallrats the edge) and Jason Biggs. This was one of the only films that Heather Donahue of Blair Witch Project, ever made after the big film. I used this film to prove to my father that Blair Witch Project wasn’t real, as he wasn’t believing any of the evidence. Alison Hannigan also has a small role in it. I simply love the soundtrack and the main song from it – Ronan Keating’s If I Don’t Tell You Now.
Thanks to YouTuber Leo Life for hosting this video.
I could watch, Boys & Girls, all day. All Day! It use to be one of those films that I would play while doing papers in college.
Head over Heels is fun, he’s the romantic lead but he doesn’t have the burden to carry the film. I like Monica Potter (of Parenthood fame) and whenever that show made her cry (her go-to character trait) I thought about this film and how she just had a good time in it. There is a running joke with one of the models in the film, that I still think about.
Summer Catch, is FPJ back in a comedy. Jessica Biel is the love interest and Matthew Lillard is back as a teammate. One of my favorite baseball films. If you want a movie about No Hitters, this is the one for you. Brittany Murphy is in it as is Bruce Davison (playing Biel’s father) and Wilmer Valderrama of That 70’s Show fame.
The film is mostly remembered, fondly for this moment with Jessica Biel –
But it really is a good film!
Then we get to 2002 & 2004’s Scooby Doo films. The first one is my favorite and the cast commentary is a real delight! FPJ is Fred, his wife Sarah Michelle Geller is Daphne, Matthew Lillard is Shaggy, Scooby is Scooby and Velma is played by the always amazing and should work more, Linda Cardellini. I wonder if Linda is still friends with FPJ and the gang as I remember thinking that she was the sole person who wasn’t connected to FPJ prior to filming. I do like Seth Green being added to the cast for the second film.
I do love me some Velma!
I haven’t seen any of the animated films that he has lent his voice – Shark Bait, Happily N’Ever After and Deigo. His voice is unique enough for animation but I sort of need the man himself to be seen.
I’m not sure if after Scooby Doo, he decided to purposely take time away from the screen but he starts taking time off and after three years, came back with Brooklyn Rules. Probably best known as his return to dramatic work since his first two films – To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday (with the incredible Michelle Pfeiffer) and The House of Yes – which is more of a comedy but with serious issues going on around it. House of Yes is what got FPJ in the Miramax house and gave him a career. I’ve always been a fan of early Miramax and Lionsgate.
Brooklyn Rules stars Alec Bladwin, Scott Caan and Mena Suvari. FPJ will eventually work with most of the cast of American Pie.
New York City Serenade, is a very interesting film that has scenes that I still think about. Like Chris Klein losing it on a costumer at the photo development center and FPJ has to cool the situation. FPJ (people refer to him as that, right?) is a budding film maker. Wallace Shawn (of Princess Pride fame, Inconceivable!) plays himself. It isn’t an easy watch, with characters making baffeling decisions throughout it. FPJ’s character, Owen, should have ditched Chris Klein’s character so much earlier in the film. I don’t quite get the characters’ friendship.
His last film, believe it or not, is Jack and Jill vs. the World WAY BACK IN 2008! I’m not sure why he isn’t bankable anymore. Well, I guess looking at his last films but good for him for trying to branch out and get some range. Probably my favorite Taryn Manning film, as she gets to play a different sort of character, one that is still a tad zany but grounded.
After this, he has two children (Gellar doing the hard work) in 2009 (a daughter) and 2012 (a son).
He has dabbled in television.
He was the Male Nanny for Ross and Rachel in Season 9 Episode 6, my favorite episode.
Thanks to YouTuber Rhetoric of Gender & Sexuality for hosting the video.
Though the ones where they are throwing the ball and Joey has to keep covering for Chandler and Monica and refers to himself as a horrible human being, are pretty fun. 5×21 and 5×9, respectfully.
He had his own show, Freddie, on ABC that lasted 22 episodes in 2005 / 2006.
Freddie Prinze Jr has worked with WWE off and on, I believe that is his most current gig, actually.
In 2010, for 24’s eight season, he played Cole Ortiz, which also featured another favorite actress of mine, Jennifer Westfeldt. Season three is by far my favorite season of the show, with the moment with Jack in front of the hotel with the dude’s daughter, but eight is up there. 3×23 is the episode that made me a hardcore fan of Jack Bauer!
That’s my retrospective on Freddie Prinze Jr., who really needs to act more!
At one point, I owned all of these films but traded them in for cash, which was a very sad day for me.
Thanks to YouTuber Ed Sheeran for hosting his own videos. How much did Dancing with the Stars go after him, after he released this video? Such a great song.
Is there a more sexually suggestive lyrics than, will your mouth remember the taste of my love? or am I just being pervy?
I’m also a big fan of Sing, I didn’t know that it was an Ed Sheeran song, as we have two radio stations here that play pop songs. One announces the name of the artist and the song title and the other doesn’t even bother. There is a third station, that plays – 80s, 90s, 00s and today’s hits but that is one giant net, and they also don’t name every song that plays. It is hard to believe the guy who sung, Sing, is the guy we first met when he performed, A Team.
I’m not a fan of, Don’t, mostly as it seems to be a personal story – which I’m fine with. But releasing it as single so that idiots can sing it on reality singing shows, seems so bizarre to me. Like, they are taking a personal story of his, and turning it into an opportunity for themselves. Which I get, that he released it as a single, so the world will do with it that they will but it seems to be an odd choice to me. I also don’t like the video, so that’s two strikes against it.
Thanks to EllieGouldingVEVO for hosting the video.
I’m sort of loving this song and the radio doesn’t play it enough
I didn’t know this was off of the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack until I saw the video. I wonder if Beyonce is annoyed that her song used in the trailer was not the first released single. I’m sure she cries into her millions of dollars, routinely, over it.
Thanks to YouTuber EllaHVEVO for hosting the video!
On the radio, they will play
Jesse J’s Burnin’ Up feature 2 Chainz
Thanks to JessieJVEVO for hosting the above video.
And they both mention “going to the river” which before I figured out which one I liked, I couldn’t remember which was which.
I really did Henerson’s video, it has this movie aspect to it that I really dig.
What is with Jessie J not wearing flattering outfits in her music videos? She needs to have a friend on set to make sure she looks good. Also, she was super annoying when she was a guest host on Dancing with the Stars, like, we get it, you don’t watch the show.
Speaking of Dancing with the Stars, how great would a season that featured – James Van Der Beek, Dean Cain and Fred Savage, on it be? Thanks to Don’t Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23 for putting that thought in my head.
Thanks to YouTuber Clean Bandit, hosting their own video!
We’ve just started watching this one not too recently. I think I like it more than Walker Dennis does. The parts with the businessmen really getting into the ‘no no no’ with the finger wagging, haunts me.
What I like about this video, is that
Extraordinary
Featuring Sharna Bass comes on afterwards. There is something about Sharna Bass that I really like but she’s still an up and comer.
Pretty brave of Grace Chatto to wear the same bathing suit as Sharna Bass, that is something that will trip me out with the comparison. I would make a horrible woman.
Is it me, or does Extraordinary sound like it starts with the same beats as New Kids On The Block’s Summertime?
Thanks to NewKidsVEVO for hosting the video!
I wish the video started right with the song for easily listening for this purpose but this was NKOTB’s first video two decades, so it makes sense to give it some flair.
For months, this was my alarm so I woke up to this song everyday.
Thanks to YouTuber Warner Bros. Pictures for hosting the video!
So I was Watching Desolation of Smaug, the second film in the Hobbit Trilogy. I enjoyed it more than the first one. Especially the Smaug scenes that makes up the final section of the film. Then the credits start to roll and I heard this song and instantly loved it. I like Ed Sheeran, I won’t say I’m a giant fan but most of his songs I like until the radio plays them too much. I liked Sing so much more than Don’t. But this song, I See Fire, is my favorite of his songs.
I have to keep reminding myself that Ed Sheeran is the guy who sang “The A Team” and how drastically different his first album was from his second – which I also admire.
Not sure when we can get around to watching Battle of Five Armies but that was my favorite section of the book, so I can’t wait to see it come to life.
My all time favorite Christmas song is Grant Goodeve’s The Night Time Stood Still from the Christmas in the Northwest 8 album. I wish YouTube would get someone to put the video up.
Of course, the legend that is Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I was lucky enough to buy the boxset of their three albmus – Christmas Eve and Other Stories / The Christmas Attic / Lost Christmas Eve, which came with a DVD. I love this collection so much.
TSO also has this amazing Rock Opera CD, Beethoven’s Last Night, that I wish they were release a DVD for.
Christmas Eve and Other Stories
Thanks to YouTuber TovarishchS for hosting the full album! Not sure how long that will last.
The Christmas Attic

Lost Christmas Eve

Jewel has a terrific Christmas album, Joy : A Holiday Collection
YouTuber Jewel – Topic has a Playlist with all of her songs.
I adore Jewel, she went Country and I sort of lost track of her but there were years when I was a hardcore fan of hers.
Kelly Clarkson’s Wrapped in Red is another great Christmas album.
Thanks to YouTuber TheChrstimasLyrics3 for hosting the full album
I’m also a huge Kelly Clarkson fan. I suppose it makes sense to like an artist and naturally like their holiday CD too.
Michael Buble’s Chrstimas album, and specials, are quite excellent as well!
YouTuber Shadee Henareh has created a playlist for all of Buble’s Christmas songs. I’m also a huge Buble fan too. But who isn’t and still has a soul? I ask you.

My wife has hipped me to Alabama’s Thistlehair The Christmas Bear song which is pretty fun.
Thanks to YouTuber ItalianCottager for hosting the video.
My in-laws are all big fans of Robert Earl Keen’s Merry Christmas from the Family
Thanks to YouTuber The Outdoor Chautauqua for hosting the video.
Another song my wife becomes obsessed with this time of year is Jason Castro’s I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day
Thanks to YouTuber memillieisme for hosting the video.
We were big American Idol fans for a few years. That’s how I discovered Michael Buble, when he filled in for Tony Bennett. Which is pretty cool that I know when I became a fan of Buble, April 4, 2007.
Her favorite classic Christmas song is, Winter Wonderland. Which seemed like new information when I asked her.
She didn’t have a favorite version, so I included the Buble one.
Thanks to YouTuber zwoooooooooosh for hosting the video.
This made me think of what my favorite classic Christmas song is, it might have to be, O Little Town of Bethlehem
Thanks to YouTuber Gilda Tabarez for hosting the video.
I do try to recite “We Three Kings” from time to time but I never know the lyrics.
Thanks to YouTuber king mojo for the lyric video!
. . .
My mother’s favorite Christmas song is, Little Drummer Boy
Thanks to YouTuber PTXofficial for hosting the Pentatonix video.
. . .
Christmas songs I am not a fan of? Pretty much any parody of 12 Days of Christmas.

EDIT ON DECEMBER 22, 2014 –
Another song I keep hearing on the radio is Stephanie Davis’ The Gift
Which apparently she wrote but didn’t release herself. That I’m aware of as YouTube only has cover versions.
Thanks to Britt Gillis for both hosting her cover and doing such a beautiful version of it.
So I drive about the town on my way to work, back and forth at lunch and when I go home. This town has three radio stations that are all essentially Top 40 / songs of the 90s/80s.
There are songs that if I hear it once in the morning, and not again for the rest of the day, I feel cheated. Especially with how many songs I don’t care for these days. So when I hear one that I like, I really want to just keep hearing it.
One of my current addictions is –
5 Seconds of Summer’s Amnesia.
Thanks to YouTuber 5SOSVEVO for hosting the video
I didn’t realize they were a boy band until I went home and say the video for the first time. That’s a little embarrassing.
Anyone know what Vevo is? I just take it for granted as the official music video provider on YouTube.
After looking it up, that is essentially what it is.
