With the fourth volume of Guardians of the Galaxy, Kitty Pryde has joined the team. She is their new Star Lord. Leading the team is Rocket Raccoon. Along for the ride are old standards – Groot, Drax and Agent Venom. Fellow new face to the team is Ben Grimm!
Peter Quill, old Star Lord and new President of Spartax, is still an honorary member as is Gamora. Time will tell when these two rejoin the team, on an official basis.

Kitty’s other monthly book, at the moment. She’s not guaranteed to be in every issue but neither is Wolverine. Wolverine is the Headmaster and Kitty was the Headmistress. Which she was until the Original Five showed up and Jason Aaron was allowed to use Storm, and thus Kitty stepped down and Storm became the new Headmistress. Which I still feel was a mistake.
Other faculty members are: Iceman, Rachel Grey, Beast with Angel and Husk from time to time and of course, Toad as the Custodian and Doop at the Front Desk.
From the first issue onwards to Battle of the Atom, the team has been Kitty Pryde (in the awesome Professor role) and her Original Five X-Men: Angel, Beast, Cyclops, Iceman and Jean. Angel left around issue 10 and others have guest starred in the title and such as Wolverine and proper Iceman have with a few appearances by Storm.
Though never officially part of this team, she had two adventures with them. I would have to reread them again to remind myself, how much or which members she actually interacted with.

Last year, I reread the entire series from issue one all the way to 125 and it dips and raises but it is a fun series to revisit every so often. Such a great series and still holds up fairly well too, especially the Alan Davis / Mark Farmer issues as does the Warren Ellis issues. Cross Time still feels like six issues too many but having those fill ins didn’t help the case.
I keep having the thought of which mutants Kitty has worked with over the years and which teams she has been on.
