Still buying this on the assumption (that I’m sure is correct) that Sharp’s second voice in his head is Ogun’s.
Issue opens Sharp modifying his Star Lord gas mask.
The mysterious voice says it is an improvement but it isn’t where it needs to be. When he wears it, the eyes glow red, red like the mask of Ogun.
Neuro wonders what Sharp looks like under the mask.
Outside Gonzales, Texas. Headed East on Us-10. Junk and Skel are bonding as Skel drives the van. Junk verbally tells Skel his origin. He was captured while walking on an open street and was experimented on. We see that he is lying and he was a prisoner.
Neuro mentions Logan. We see a computer screen with all of Logan’s aliases. Weapon X – Experiment 10 – James Howlett – Logan – Wolverine – Patch – Black Dragon – Mutant # 9601 – Emilio Garra – Agent Ten. I only don’t recognize Black Dragon and Emilio Garra.
With all of this chatter about Logan, Sharp sees a mental flashback of 1938’s Nanking, where he ran into Victor Creed.
Endo interrupts them, as she really wants to go home. They tell her that they are being followed and if she reaches out, the Weapon X folks will kill whoever she reaches out to.
Junk and Skel. Skel starts having a seizure. We get his origin of how he was a professional football player in Detroit, 1993.
There is a page of DCBS congratulating Marvel on 75 years. Go to http://www.dcbservice.com and save so much money!
Neuro speculates that Skel needs to constantly use his super strength or his body will start breaking down, so he lifts the van back on its wheels and feels better.
New Orleans, Louisiana. Sharp finds Sabretooth and they start fighting, naturally. Neuro attempts to talk to Creed. Sharp does a decent job of holding his own against Creed.
Once learning that Creed has a healing factor, Skel can cut loose and wail on him, so he does.
Sharp takes the time to interrogate Creed, revealing the 1938 Nanking connection. It isn’t Wolverine’s voice in his head as he was a spy in Madripoor at the time. I’m not sure that Ogun and Sabretooth had a connection prior to this.
The Garden District. Endo reaches out to her fiancee, and gets his voicemail.
Arcadia. We see the Weapon X clean up squad, and they have killed so many other escapees and others connected to the escapees.
So far, I’ve read two issues and this is a pretty good miniseries. Not the missable cash grab I thought it may have been. Though it is written by Soule, who wrote Death of Wolverine, so it makes sense that this will be quality and be important.
