Issue opens with Blink relaxing on the beach of the Crystal Palace. She has a quick flashback to the first issue, which is reprinted in this giant sized issue but I will review it some other time.
We get a brief look at all of those who have served as Exiles, including Magik!
Nocturne and her boyfriend, Thunderbird, are sparring on the beach. Psylocke and Sabretooth are surfing. Morph is being a host and Mystiq is grilling.
Later that night, Morph wonders where Cat and Rogue are, and where Sage is. Heather informs the team that she knows where Cat and Rogue is but only vaguely where Sage is.
Cut to Cat, who we first met in issue 96 of this series. I’m reviewing this issue now, as Exiles : Days of Then and Now takes place during this issue, but I’m not sure where it could.
This will be a running theme with Cat, she really wants to know more about the Crystal Palace. Rogue is suppose to be supervising Cat but Cat has gone too far.
Cat asks for help and Rogue jumps down to save Cat.
Rogue throws Cat back to the surface and the rest of the team is there to see the heroic save. Psylocke tells them to go to medical.
Sage is lost and fighting fools. Unfortunately, the fools are actually members of the Exiles. Sage takes out Morph, Thunderbird and Nocturne before Blink can take Sage down.
As Blink is wearing her bikini for the large bulk of this issue, and she isn’t in that Exiles one shot, then that issue can’t take place until she puts on more clothes.
Mystiq, who’s default form is a dude, has medical treatment. He has a daughter, Rogue, but the Exiles Rogue is nothing like his. Cat took some hits, physically and Sage took hits, emotionally. The team lacks a telepath, so the problems with Sage, need to be worked out like a real mental issue, with the talky talk.
Nocturne and Thunderbird talk to Blink,w ho is dressed in sleepwear, so still not a chance for the one shot. They want to leave the team, as they want to get Nocturne back to full speed, as she is still recovering. Plus, they haven’t seen each other in a while.
Blink thinks it is a great idea.
So Blink gets dressed, so let’s say the one shot happens between these two pages, as these last three, don’t provide any time for Blink to form this side Exiles team.
Blink tells the team that she is leaving too, as it is the series finale and why not take this opportunity to enjoy herself. Plus, it builds demand for her return. That’s always a good thing. All three are heading to Heather’s dimension.
This leaves Morph as the only original team member who is still on the team.
Cat is sitting at the table, not caring at all about what is happening. Ten members is too much so they had to lose three of them. Seven is the idea team number. That’s like an unofficial rule.
Blink asks Morph to watch over Sabretooth, who is also from Age of Apoclypse, like how she is.
Issue ends with Sabretooth announcing their mission statement, to save the omniverse.
I knew going into this, that the one shot doesn’t really take place in this and I don’t think it really needed that tie-in to be sold but whatever, one more issue of Exiles reviewed.
