Last week, Emily Mitchell’s brother posted a link to her game, Fractured Minds, on reddit :
The game is only $1.50 and 40% of the proceeds go to Safe in Our World :
A mental health charity with a specific focus on video game players and developers.
With all of that in mind, how could I note want to support her.

Emily was the BFTA Young Game Designers’ 2017 15-18-Year Old Winner of the Game Making Award.
The game is 20 minutes and well worth your time.
Here is an extended interview of Emily’s :
Thanks to GP GameTrailers for the extended interview that has a portion used in the trailer.
Emily comes off very likeable.
Here is me playing the game :
Apparently the game may have came out last year, accidently, but it is being given a proper launch now. Since it was released early, there was already a trophy guide for it :
There are three missable trophies and I was reading the guide with each new chapter so there is a slight pause as I read the guide. I knew the game was short but after completing it, I wish I had simply done a blind playthrough for the fun of it.
Looking at Safe in Our World’s “About Us” page, I recognize some of these names!
Emily is part of the team, which makes sense.
Rob of PlayStation Access is a patron, which is pretty cool. I thought I recognized Lucy Hale but not from what I thought.
Seems like Safe in Our World does a lot of good work.

Now it is time for another Mad Max check in!
I accomplished all of my preliminary goals and have started playing the story missions again!
I have all four strongholds equipped with working Scrap Crews and Cleanup Crews, and Deep Friah’s requirements required even less material so I have built a slew of items for him.
Dog is everywhere we go!
I was able to knock the threat of Deep Friah’s territory down rather quickly too so I was able to upgrade the Thunderpoon to 50% damage rate.
I earned the trophies for obtaining 5000 and 10,000 scraps on my person, and then I started upgrading everything! I got down to 4000 scrap and figure I will hold off until I get 5000 total scrap before buying another round of upgrades.
I also got the trophy for earning the rank of Road Warrior, so that felt pretty great. Now Mad Max is the Road Warrior!
I completed Hope’s first mission and Chumbucket’s wrench mission, which are both considered Wasteland Missions.
The Outcrier, who has a stronghold in Gastown, but is not considered a safe stronghold that I can build things in. Hope is in one of his cages. He sent me on a mission to gather some lights for him that were located in an old airport. His next mission and my current one is to gather a fighter which I have to do by completing a race.
It feels really good to be playing the story again and I do not feel overpowered so that is good.
According to CloNe817’s excellent guide, I might be getting the proper car, Speed Demon, after the race or some time after that maybe?. Which, ideally, will also be the end of Act III as well.
I will complete the race, then Hope gets me through a door to get the V8, and either before or after that, I have some fights to deal with.
My plan is to just commit to the story, completing any challenges and scavenging locations as I come across them. As far as I know, I am doing everything right thus far but it sounds like the scavenging location glitch is not something you know has gone wrong until there are no more locations to discover.
I have one Scarecrow left to demolish of the 28, which is another trophy I will earn. The one I am missing is right in front of a Stank Gum legion camp so I will knock that over once I take over that camp.
I have come across some mine sites but I will get those taken care of after the main story as it seems weird now to stop what I am doing to get the buggy and Dog and discover some mines.
I have looked for come convoys and completely dominated a few and that was prior to upgrading the Thunderpoon, so now I am really looking forward to laying waste to those guys the next time I come across one of those.
If I can start using my actual car in races, races should become much easier to do, so I am really hoping that race opens up those for me. That is also where the bulk of my scrap will go, upgrading all of Archangels.
I have a few Wasteland Missions to still unlock and complete.
I will have to come up with a fun way to take out all of the threats during the post-game. I figure I will make a list of races, do any side stuff on my way to a race, but there will be stuff that is just out there that has to be dealt with.
I might just use the legend of the map to go down all of the items, that way I can keep track of it easier.
I received another quest to complete some epic jumps so I hope to get the “Maximum Air” trophy when I finally commit to that quest.
As I have to build all of the projects in the strongholds, I probably come across more scavenging location as well. Which will also have Historic Relics.
I have been saving camps for post-story too. I have Top Dogs to fight, Oil Pumps and Transfer Takes to explode, and Stank Gum legions to fight.
I also have three more balloon rides to fly.
Lots to do and all of it seems very doable and fun!
I will know how I really feel once I actually beat the game and see what else is happening. Next week we find out what the December 2019 games are and that might throw me off if I am still playing Mad Max.
I am sort of in a mood for another open world game, so much content!

Anyone else addicted to Lizzo’s Good As Hell?
Thanks to Lizzo Music for hosting her own video!
I immediately liked it from the first few bars I heard on the radio and the song just kept getting better. It is so much fun and a great message! Though Walker Dennis and my beautiful wife has pretty much listened to it first thing in the morning for the past few mornings but I still find lyrics to enjoy on repeated viewings.
