From time to time, I believe it has been four times now, I have submitted comics to sell to Lonestar Comics. Which is a great company to sell comics too. My only problem, and I’m glad I have a blog now, so that I can start tracking it, is that the check I get back is rarely near the amount I initially thought it would be. Sometimes it is twenty or fifty dollars less. I don’t complain about the difference, as my grading and their professional grading are vastly different.
If I was doing store credit, the amount would be $447.66 but that defeats the purpose.
I’m also going to keep track of how much this cost and such, as I haven’t kept good notes before.
The goal is to do this giant shipment and then, do smaller ones every month afterwards.

. . .
It took a couple hours but I now have three crammed short comic boxes. Once I tighten the other boxes, I had emptied two additional boxes. Which now leaves me eight boxes left to slowly sell. By contrast, my Shadowcat collection is now fifteen boxes.
I couldn’t locate three comics –
So I must have sent those before or mis-entered them.
. . .
It cost $112.40 to ship these boxes! Which seems insane to me! Forty dollars each? Outrageous! I guess I was really hoping it would be closer to $90 at thirty each.
Box One was 31 lbs at $41.69
Box Two was 24 lbs at $33.55
Box Three was 27 at $37.16
For a total of $112.40, which I’m sure the UPS lady gets that a lot. If the plan goes the way I would like, this should be the last expensive box and then I will use the United States Postal Service’s Flat Rate box at either sixteen for a medium box or twenty one dollars for a large flat rate box. That’s the goal anyways.
So now it is a matter of waiting until the boxes get there (by Thursday) and get the check in the mail. So exciting!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/87th_Academy_Awards
Hulu actually has the award show, broken up over three parts, so I will watch this eventually but really, that year with the Writer Boycotts, and the award show was just a few people reading the awards, I would be more than fine with that being the norm.
Also, it is going to take many hours to watch the show at 15 to 30 minute intervals so I wasn’t worried about spoiling the results.
I mostly wanted to see if X-Men Days of Future Past won its Oscar, it didn’t, it went to Interstellar. On my way down to that result, I caught that Michael Keaton didn’t win Leading Male Perfromance, so that is highly disappointing as well. I figured X-Men wasn’t going to win but Keaton not winning stinks.
It reminds me how I’m still mad at the academy giving Sean Penn the Oscar instead of Bill Murray for his performance in Lost in Translation. Bill Murray only has one chance at winning an Oscar and they have since given Penn an additional Oscar. It drives me crazy sometimes when I see Bill Murray being brave in interviews for various other projects.
Glad Birdman won Best Picture, as did its director, Alejandro Inarritu – that should make Alex of www.andsoitbeginsfilms.com blog very happy, I love his film blog so much! Birdman also won for Original Screenplay. It also won Best Cinematography, which from what I heard, makes perfect since with what the ‘trick’ of the film’s direction.
Juilanne Moore is finally an Oscar winner, so that’s terrific! I need to watch, Still Alice.
JK Simmons being an Oscar winner feels like a big win, I have loved that man for years now!
Big Hero 6 won Best Animated Feature, so that’s awesome for Marvel! Now let’s get a Pet Avengers film in the works! Do it Marvel!
The Edward Snowden documentary, citizenfour, won the Best Documentary, so that seems pretty brave.
“Glory” from Selma, winning Best Original Song seems like a consolation prize for the entirely white nominees in all the other categories. I imagine with NPH hosting the award show, that he would make a joke about that.
. . .
We got through the award show, my wife fell asleep during it. It was a pretty boring show, outside of NPH, who did make the all white jokes, good for him!
I had forgotten some celebrities died, this year. Apparently a bunch of people are upset that Joan Rivers wasn’t shown, she was great in Spaceballs but I’m not the biggest fan of her gimmick.

At the very last seconds of the episode, Rob added my would-be voicemail as a blooper. That will teach me to not write it down ahead of time but I thought for sure that I could do it off the top of my head. The voicemail starts at the 1:26:45 of 1:27:36.
In the opening, Brian points out that I forgot to provide DCBS’ website :
Which I naturally know, as I use the service every month.
The correction and succeeding discussion lasts from 0:33 – 1:03, with the discussion going as far as 1:55 before the conversation moves to Brian’s recent birthday.
This makes for my fourth voicemail on the show

IGN has made a 11:25 minutes long video covering every X-Man ever!
The 1980s starts at 2:45 and starts with Kitty Pryde AND Lockheed! So awesome! Those two go from 2:45 to 3:00, it moves pretty fast.
They are going in order, so they respect issue numbers more than they do retcons like Deadly Genesis – which I prefer. Who show up at 7:10
Magik is there at 8:30 for 2009 (July via New Mutants being a splintered team).
ForgetMeNot made the list at 10:21! So incredible!
Before him, M is the last X-Man to join as of January 2014 in X-MEN V3 7, as ForgetMeNot is a retcon himself. Pretty impressive amount of characters from five in September 1963 to today. Then from 1963 to January 2013, the Original Five joined again in All New X-Men!
The video is narrated by Fran Mirabella III and I like how they have a string of the characters running during the credits.
Excalibur is mentioned at the 4:40 mark.

Edit on February 6, 2015 –
IGN has this article where they do a fun article on every X-Man Ever!
http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/01/16/every-x-man-ever
Kitty is the 18th X-Man, if you don’t count Xavier (which I don’t) and if you do count Phoenix posing as Jean Grey (which I do)
Lockheed is 19th and Rogue is 20. I can live with that.
Shadowcat
- Real Name: Kitty Pryde
- Major Powers: Intangibility/Phasing
- Joined: X-Men #138 (October, 1980)
Lockheed
Real Name: N/A
Major Powers: Flight, Fire Breath, Empathy
Joined: Circa Uncanny X-Men #168 (April, 1983)
X-Plained: The loyal dragon companion to Kitty Pryde.
. . .
Not sure how long this link will be active but they also have it, like FlickChart, where you get to choose between two X-Men. I’ve been voting for 30 minutes and still haven’t come across Shadowcat nor Magik.
http://www.ign.com/face-off/x-men
I wish it kept track of what I personally voted for, like FlickChart, as I would like to see the numbers on that.
I got Lockheed, so that’s awesome he is in the mix! He went up against Psylocke. 45% of people agreed with me.
Magik went up against Doctor Nemsis, another easy call. 63% agreed with me.
How much longer until Kitty shows up?
X-Man v Magik – 51% agreed with me
Hey, even Amanda Sefton made the list! Rachel appears quite often and I haven’t voted for Kurt yet. Amanda went up against Aurora of Alpha Flight (and Dark X-Men fame). 46% agreed with me
A tough one (but not really) Emma v Magik – 50%, that sounds about right
Colossus comes up a lot too and it seems like people agree with me and are not voting for him. Who could?
Wolverine v Magik – 43% agreed with me. So silly
Nightcrawler v Colossus – 50%, that isn’t that hard. I wonder how many people are even voting.
Fantomex v Rachel, 50%
Lockheed v Hepzibah – 55% agreed with me
Kurt v Cable, 50%
Magik v Mystique – 50%
Xavier v Magik – 50%
Cannonball v Magik – 50%
Havok v Lockheed – 45% agreed
I got a repeat Kurt v Cable and I’m pretty sure I voted Emma over Magneto twice now
I never vote for Iceman or Colossus
Xavier v Kurt, 50%
Kurt v Emma, that is a tough one! 50%
Colossus v Juggernaut, that’s pretty fun! 50%
Phoenix Force is an option too. Went up against Dust, with 62%. I do like that Wolverine Skrull Imposter is an option too.
Slipstream v Rachel, 63%
ForgetMeNot is an option! v Hepzibah, 45%
Emma v Colossus and then I got the match up again right afterwards
Lockheed v Slipstream, 58%
Wolverine v Magik, 43%
Magneto v Kurt, 48%
Amanda Sefton v Hepzibah, 52%
Xavier v Kurt for a third time
Psylocke v Magik, 50%
Kurt v X23, 50%
Warpath v Rachel, 50%
Amanda Sefton v Storm (who I haven’t really been voting for), 42%
Phoenix Force v Rachel, now that is awesome! 50%
Kurt v All New Cyclops, 50%
Amanda Sefton v Juggernaut, 42%
Sage v ForgetMeNot, 45%
Emma v All New Cyclops, another fun one! 50%
Rachel v Pixie, 53%
Lockheed v Sunprye, 55%
Wolverine v X23, 58%
Kurt v Psylocke, 50%
Wolverine v Kurt, oh no they are best friends! 43%
All New Jean v Kurt, 54%
Finally, it happened – Beast v Shadowcat! 66%
I was tempted, at first, to go until they faced Shadowcat v Magik but I don’t think they will be adding Kitty to mix that often after it taking an hour to get Kitty’s first appearance.
I kept going and had to choose Magik v ForgetMeNot, she is winning by 65%
I later got Magik v Cyclops, 49%
Polaris v Shadowcat, 51% then it happened
MAGIK v SHADOWCAT –
I had to throw my hands up. What have I done!?!
51%, so pretty much a tie
Rogue v Shadowcat, 50% – I’m getting more and more disappointed that it isn’t tracking it so I stopped. Or at least, I stopped taking it as anything more than a dumb activity to do while waiting for other things to happen.
Xavier v Pryde, 50% – I thought once I got her, she would become more popular in the line-up.
Ariel (the teleporter) v Lockheed, 61%
Vulcan v Amanda Sefton, 46% – did people just vote ‘not the woman’?
ForgetMeNot v Sway, 48% – did they vote not the dude?
Magneto v Shadowcat, 48% OH COME ON!!!
Xavier v Mystique is pretty fun, 50%
Wolverine v Shadowcat, 43%, so silly!
Magik v Banshee, 50%
Kurt v Kitty, 50% so that’s understandable – but only partially
Doop v Iceman, that’s funny too, 38%
Emma v Firestar is another fun match up, there isn’t enough of those. 50%
Psylocke v Shadowcat, 50%
Here we go. I got Iceman v Firestar, then Mystique v Rogue.
X-Man v Lockheed, 45%
Longshot v ForgetMeNot, 36%
Xorn v ForgetMeNot, 42%
Domino v Magik, 50%
Dazzler v Longshot is fun. 48%
Xorn v ForgetMeNot, 39% – the heck!?! I wonder if IGN finally got some traction with the website and people are voting, to explain the drop of three percent.
Shadowcat v Cyclops, didn’t give the percentage but I can only imagine Kitty trumps Scotty
Beak v Amanda Sefton, 62%
Magik v Cable, 50%
ForgetMeNot v Rachel, that is a tough one. I do own more of his appearances than hers (percentage wise) so I went with him, plus I haven’t read a comic where Rachel was in a while. 35%

Not only is NPH hosting the show, but X-Men : Days of Future Past is nominated for an Oscar! They are up for Best Visual Effects, the winners will be Richard Stammers, Lou Pecora, Tim Crosbie and Cameron Waldbauer.
They are up against Captain America : Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy. Also, Interstellar and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, but let’s root for the comic book films!
Guardians is also up for Best Makeup and Hairstyling.
HuluPlus didn’t carry the Golden Globes but I’m hoping that is an issue with NBC and that we might be able to watch the Oscars. Which will be on February 22, 2015 on ABC.
For the first time, I don’t really know that many of these films. Having a one year old puts a real damper on which films to watch. I do want to watch Foxcatcher, or rather, I really want to watch a documentary on the story. That’s becoming more of a thing for me, that I rather see a documentary over a film version, as they often change details for story purposes.
I really want to watch Birdman as well!
I beleive Grand Budapest Hotel is on Netflix, so we should be able to watch one of these films.
I also want to see Whiplash, as I hear JK Simmons is amazing in it.
Just for the giggles of it and to remind everyone about their superhero roles, here are some run downs –
Best Actor has three superheroes! Bradley Cooper, the voice of Rocket. Benedict Cumberbatch, Doctor Strange, and Michael Keaton, Batman. I rather Keaton win it.
Best Actress has two. Marion Cotillard was Talia in Dark Knight Rises and Felicity Jones was in Amazing Spider-Man 2 in a pretty thankless role. I do want to watch Gone Girl, as I’ve heard some amazing reviews.
Best Supporting Actor has three. I do like how, with the increase in comic book based films, all of these A-List actors have started attaching themselves to these movies. This category has two Hulks! Edward Norton and Mark Ruffalo. JK Simmons is J. Jonah Jameson, apparently Marc Webb hasn’t been able to find a suitable actor to be the new JJJ that can break the mold set for Simmons, which is pretty cool. Simmons is also the voice of the Yellow M&M, which I like to tell people. Clearly. Robert Duvall is a legend.
Best Supporting Actress, Emma Stone with the sole representation! Laura Dern is in the Jurassic Park films, so that is pretty cool. I’m okay with Meryl Streep not winning awards.
Best Animated Feature Film, I really ant Big Hero 6 to win. I still need to watch it. I’m surprised Lego Movie didn’t get nominated, we own and have seen that one now.
Best Original Song – I want “Everything is Awesome” to win, from the Lego Movie, by Shawn Patterson, as I’ve actually heard that one. I’m surprised “Into the Woods” didn’t make a new song to be nominated.
Best Sound Editing, we will eventually watch Hobbit : Battle of Five Armies, so that gets my vote.
Best Sound Mixing, I want to watch Unbroken too, as that story sounds super fascinating. Ever since Scott Mosier mentioned it on SModcast, I’ve wanted to know more about it. Except, you know, read the actual book.
The films I really get excited about are usually nominated in the People’s Choice Awards or MTV Movie Awards. Now, those are the films worthy of watching.

The issue opens with Al Milgrom explaining that this story was in the inventory as it would have been the fourth issue of Questprobe. I did the quick research via comicbookdb, and the villain of the issue is in all three of those issues. He found Hulk, Spider-Man, Human Torch & The Thing. This story was printed three years after it should have.
Page One
Issue opens with the X-Men along with Magneto and Lee Forrester on Magneto’s adopted island from Uncanny X-Men 150. Magneto has agreed to take over leadership of the Xavier School, so this is after Uncanny X-Men 200. Nice to see Lee Forrester again.
Colossus is throwing Kitty off of her raft like the jerk that he is!
Kitty is just staring at Magneto and Lee as they make out every where and every time they get a chance. They are madly in love.
Kitty decides to pull a prank of Logan, but he can smell her. Which makes sense as she’s still pretty wet, so it must be easier for him to sense her. They have an ongoing game where Kitty owes Logan a beer and he owes her a lemonade, she doesn’t like any of those. What’s a game if you don’t like the rewards? Just a challenge, perhaps?
Kitty is noticing the statues that surround the island, they give her the creeps.
Logan shares that he isn’t thrilled with them either, which surprises Kitty. Logan tells her that only a fool doesn’t get scared, being scared heightens your experience – hence the entire Horror genre.
I have read this a couple times now and I still can’t imagine why he pops his claws. It makes no sense!
Storm, who is powerless at this point, shares that she also finds the statues to be creepy. They hint at the island’s true origins and they are no good. Whatever happened to this island?
Kitty notices that Magneto and Lee are making out again. It is starting to be too much for the poor gal.
Kitty brings up what Storm and everyone must be thinking or remembering, that it wasn’t that long ago that Magneto almost killed both Kitty and Storm on this island.
A flash of light happens and the statues not only come alive but start attacking!

Storm is the first to be attacked and we learn that the statues can turn their opponents into suspended animation.
Now Wolverine has a reason to pop his claws, and there is room to explain that they are made out of adamantium. So weird how, as a comic fan, I know how to spell words like adamantium but real minerals, I probably would have to take a guess at. Apocalypse is another one of those words.
Magneto, using his ranged attacks, is about to keep the statues from touching him.
Kitty gets the bright idea to phase though the statues, as it might do some beneficial damage. Instead, it just puts her in suspension.
Wolverine gets surprised attacked and is also put into suspension.
Colossus, proving how useless he is, tries to punch the statues and he also put into suspension.
Where is Nightcrawler during all of this? He’s the only X-Man not accorded for. Rogue shows up next but this is the last page that Kitty is on until the last few pages.
Magneto realizes he is all on his own and keeps fighting off of the statues / devices. Magneto notices that he has quickly adopted the notion of protecting others above himself. If only Xavier could see him now. Once he sees that Lee has also been turned into suspended animation, he starts fighting harder.
Just then the Chief Examiner reveals himself, by coming out of a black doorway that floats in the sky. The suspension will wear off in a few hours. He would like Magneto, since he’s the last one standing, to pass through the doorway. Magneto is no dummy, he knows it is a trap.
Meanwhile, the final X-Man to appear, Rogue is on her way back. Since no one is around, she can wear a bathing suit as she doesn’t have to worry about accidentally absorbing anyone’s powers or memories. She notices Wolverine is flying at her and grabs him as he crashes into the water. She notices she isn’t absorbing his powers, and how odd that is. She leaves him in the boat and flies off to the island.
While we were checking in Rogue, the Chief Examiner was taking over Magneto’s body. So we get Magneto v Rogue! I wonder if they talked about this at all, while they were a couple?
During the fight, Rogue breaks out of a metal prison that Magneto created and flies through the black doorway that the Chief Examiner refers to as a, scanning plate.
Rogue comes out of it and falls to her knees, as she turns green! She has the powers of the Hulk! Which she is reminded of the time she had She-Hulk’s powers. The footnote implies it was Uncanny X-Men Annual 9 but I’m pretty sure it is issue 7, the Scavenger Hunt issue. Rogue dodges another attack, that sends her to a wall, now she has Spider-Man’s powers! Once she turns into the Human Torch, she wonders if she is going to start speaking Asgardian. I like how she thinks about how she doesn’t know much about Spider-Man, what other powers does he have? Just goes to show how isolated she is with the X-Men, and how isolated they are! If you have Spider-Man’s strength plus Hulk strength, I bet she doesn’t even notice the slight increase from the Hulk’s strength.
Rogue wonders what is going on and we cut to inside the scanner plate or somewhere, this part of the book is clearly meant for those who were playing those other three games. Magneto is in an electrical form, he meets another electrical guy, Durgan. It just isn’t that interesting of a plot, the art and coloring is nice enough but it just feels like I’m reading a fourth installment of a series and I finally got to part that continues the story.
Rogue is still fighting Magneto’s body.
Durgan explains his backstory. Essentially, he wanted to create a robot that would be able to take aspects of mighty warriors’ powers and skills. Once doing so, the robot would be able to fight the invading army that is coming for his home planet. Durgan explains to Magneto that the Chief Examiner is malfunctioning but he doesn’t know why. There is a virus in the system and that is what switched Magneto’s consciousness for his own. Durgan wants Magneto and him to team up, overpower the system and set right with what once went wrong.
So their plan works and things are set right. Rogue hit the robot from the outside, while the two hit it from the inside. It tries to make itself more complicated but that’s the jest of it.
Funny exchange between Rogue and Magneto. She wants to know if she has to hit him again, as he is waking up. He tells her that wouldn’t be necessary.
Rogue flies through the scanner once more and is back to her regular self. Magneto jumps through it so that the scanner now has his powers, the last ingredient for victory!
Magneto tries to reprimand the Grand Examiner that this was no accident, he will have to reexamine his system.
The X-Men start coming out of their suspended animation. Colossus tries to show he’s a good guy by inquiring where Kitty is, as last he saw, she was thrown into the pool. While they were in suspension, they didn’t need to breathe, so that’s why she’s okay. That’s a relief!
Wolverine wakes up on the boat, where Rogue left him, and he tries to get back to island as fast as possible. Turns out, he isn’t really needed.
The Grand Examiner leaves, thanking Magneto and his X-Men, which I bet Storm had to correct Magneto later about how he works for her. Magneto is only technically the leader of the New Mutants.
The story ends with Magneto telling Rogue that he offered Durgan the X-Men’s aid but Durgan declined the assistance.
The issue ends with several pin-ups, that I am not sure who drew them. Silver Surfer, Conan?, Doctor Doom, Doctor Strange, Iron Fist, Elektra, Punisher and Iron Man are all given a page. Some of them have their name, others don’t.

SHIELD Headquarters. Rachel is trying to get through to Matthew Malloy. Storm wonders if they should try tricks, or just talk to the new mutant. Beast doesn’t recommend it. Hill seconds not doing it. Malloy is trying out the extent of his powers.
Thanks to Comixlogy for hosting this first image.
Cyclops wants to try talking to Malloy. Beast doesn’t recommend that. The worst thing about the two same strategies, is that both take place on the left side page. One turn of the page, and we are back to repeating ourselves.
Wolverine is okay with Cyclops going into a situation where he may die. Pretty messed up, that’s why you are dead and Cyclops is still alive.
I like Beast going on and on about screwed up Xavier was to Malloy. This coming from a guy, with his fellow New Avengers / Illuminati, is killing entire alternate Earths.
Wolverine recommends that they just have Magik teleport him to space, killing him.
Cyclops and Wolverine have a brief conversation, clearly about how Cyclops killed Xavier while experiencing going Dark Phoenix.
Rachel gets the idea to protray Xavier and a horde of Avengers, to try to scare Malloy into behaving. He sees right through it. I just like seeing Bachalo drawing non-mutant characters.
Because now Malloy knows where Rachel is, he turns his attention to the Hellicarrier. He drops it out of the sky.
Code Black, is what it is when a Hellicarrier crashes.
Malloy teleports the X-Men back home. Cyclops lands face first into the snow. The students gather around him.
Rachel wakes up on the yard. Look how soft Doop looks like. For some reason, Storm gets to wake up in her bed. See that bottom panel? For the first time, may be ever, Kitty and two of her best friends are in the same panel Magik & Rachel.
Thanks to X-Men Supreme, as usual, for the Kitty Pryde scan!
We get two panels with the trio!
The entire issue, with Malloy, took only two minutes to occur. Wolverine has not appeared anywhere yet. Who cares?
Magik even tries to soothe Rachel.
Thanks to Tumblr user, xsoldier for the Magik images.
Cyclops doesn’t get anxiety attacks. I get that. Magik teleports next to Cyclops.
Now that Cyclops can think, he has a sure fire plan.
Bachalo’s art looks different this issue. Might be due to Bachalo not coloring himself. I sort of like it.
Issue ends with Cyclops offering to buy Malloy breakfast. Malloy accepts, as who wouldn’t? “The humans call me Cyclops” sounds bad arse.
Is it just me or was the six part Wrecking Crew / Harley Davidson back cover concept not very good. I doubt it was successful.

If you want to read all six pages, that page should have them. Marvel.com is so graphic heavy that it doesn’t load good for me.

January
They are making a sequel to Woman in Black!?! Seems like a direct to DVD cast.
Taken’s third film is coming. Still haven’t seen any of these. Famke Janssen is in this one, not sure if she isn’t in the second one. Should be supporting her career.
Chris Hemsworth is in a Michael Mann film, Blackhat, that has to be good.
Mordecai looks like it has a good cast, besides Johnny Depp. Ewan McGregor, Olivie Munn, Aubrey Plaza, Olivier Platt, Gwyneth Patrow and Jeff Goldblum.
February
They settled on, The Wachowskis, for their combined name. That makes sense.
Fifty Shades of Grey. I’ll be watching this eventually, I’m sure. Still not that big of a fan of Dakota Johnson. Plus, Jamie Dornan is #NotMyChristian
Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman, the trailer didn’t look that great but now that I see Michael Caine and Samuel L. Jackson is in it along with Colin Firth, could be decent – at least.
They are making a sequel to Hot Tub Time Machine 2!?! I thought we said everything we needed to in the first one but it seems like the cast is back (minus Cusack, naturally). I wonder if Gillian Jacobs and Chevy Chase will have any scenes together.
Kevin Costner is doing yet another sports film? At least McFarland, USA has Maria Bello.
March
I will probably watch Hugh Jackman’s Chappie eventually but he may be getting to the point where I don’t watch everything he does. I sort of already don’t as I’m sure I’m four or five films of his behind.
The Coup is an Action / Thriller with Owen Wilson and Lake Bell? I would have thought it was a comedy with Pierce Brosnan.
They are making a sequel to Best Exotic Marigold Hotel!?! Was the first one that good?
Disney and Kenneth Branagh are making a live action Cinderella film, as that is the thing to do. I was not a fan of Alice in Wonderland, at all, but this is being helmed by Branagh, who I really like. It seems unnecessary but Disney needs to keep giving us a reason to buy the original films, though I would suspect those sell themselves once they are out of the Disney Vault.
Chris Hemsworth has a second film in 2015, In the Heart of the Sea. His second film with Ron Howard.
They keep making those Paranormal Activity movies. Whenever I’m tempted to get into these films, the continuity turns me off. I bet it would have been good if I got in on the ground floor.
We still need to watch Divergent, my wife really liked the books.
Alison Brie is in a film titled, Get Hard, it appears she isn’t a large role in it but I’ll make a point of watching it once it is on Netflix or something.
April
Furious 7, the last to feature Paul Walker. Still only seen a few minutes of one of these films.
They are making a sequel to Mall Cop!?! Good grief, I thought sequels were getting out of hand last year!
Rock the Kasbah, is a musical – so I’m in. But then there is Bruce Willis, Zooey Deschanel and Bill Murray, that’s pretty awesome too!
May
Chris Hemsworth’s third film is going to be his best one of the year . . . The Avengers 2, yo! We’ll be celebrating the release of the film here on S&FwM.
That Max Max reboot is coming. Never haven’t seen any of these. Not the biggest Mel Gibson fan.
Pitch Perfect 2 may rival The Avengers!
Spy seems to be testing Melissa McCarthy’s ability to continually combine action with comedy. Or comedy with action. She’s reteaming with Rose Byrne and Jason Statham is the dude in it.
Still not sure if I can get that excited about Tomorrowland. The Harry Potter of Science Fiction, someone billed it asl. I do like the Incredibles’ Brad Bird directing and LOST’s Damon Lindeolf writing the film. So there is good pedigree there.
San Andreas, sadly not based on Grand Theft Auto but starring The Rock and hottie Alexandra Daddario.
I was waiting to make this post when Cameron Crowe’s film got a title but they are taking their time with that.
June
How star studded is Entourage’s film going to be? If they released the Aquaman episodes in a set, I would buy that.
Insidious is becoming a franchise, apparently.
Jurassic World, I’ve been waiting for this for so long! Hopefully it isn’t bad like Indiana Jones 4. That trailer made it look like it is going to rival the first one! Which I admit is the goal of the trailer.
Transporter becomes a rebooted franchise.
Diablo Cody wrote a new film, Ricki and the Flash but not that Flash.
Meryl Streep and Kevin Kline, that promises to be a good acting film
Ted 2 is finally coming! Looks like they got Amanda Seyfried as the gal in it. Mark Wahlberg’s first sequel of his own film, I believe. Which is an odd trivia note but he’s in whichever Transformers film, so he has made a sequel but not to his own film.
July
Terminator relaunch, I haven’t seen one since 3. I meant to watch Bale’s and now Matt Smith is in a film, so I want to support him. The trailer looks all over the place. Ever since they made a television series and side timelines, I feel like they have gone too far.
Magic Mike is getting its most requested sequel. Looks like Olivia Munn isn’t in it.
Ant-Man, we will be celebrating as well. Won’t be all month though.
That Pan film, after Once Upon A Time’s horrible storyline, where they butchered the story, I think I am all Peter Pan out. Plus, SciFi do an origin story only two years ago?
Judd Apatow has a new film, Trainwreck, co-written and starring Amy Schumer, so that’s pretty impressive! Bill Hader, Colin Quinn and Vanessa Bayer are in it, I like that. John Cena, I’m curious about his role. I wonder if that is why her Comedy Central show didn’t get a third season.
Poltergeist is getting rebooted. Nothing is sacred.
Sacha Baron Choen’s Grimsby, could be interesting. Anything to get Isla Fisher in more films, I say.
Point Break is being remade, good grief!
Ryan Reynolds is in Selfless along with Ben Kingsley, so I’ll watch that eventually
August
Fantastic Four will be celebrated all month long here! I’m mostly waiting to see if they are putting Thing in pants (like they should!) and how Kate Mara looks in the uniform. The Blogger Doom Twitter page shouldn’t be the only good thing that comes out of this film.
Another comedy heist film!?!
Man from UNCLE is being adapted into a film. I never saw the show but I like Henry Cavill getting another gig. Guy Ritchie writing and directing.
Straight Outta Compton, now I have that song in my head!
Ryan Reynolds’ second film, Criminal, has a great cast with Kevin Costner, Tommy Lee Jones and Gary Oldman!
September
Jane Got a Gun, reteaming Natalie Portman and Ewan McGregor but in a Western. I bet it will be good.
M. Night Shyamalan is still trying to get out of movie jail with The Visit. I do like Kathryn Hahn, a horror comedy, I’m not sure about.
An Everest film, will make me want to watch a documentary on the film, based on the 1996 disaster.
The Maze Runner is apparently getting a sequel. I am curious how descriptive the novel is as it really must paint a picture having seeing the trailer for the first film. It must take pages to describe the one wall moving.
Hotel Transylvania is getting a sequel.
Nancy Meyers got a good cast in her latest comedy, The Intern. With Anne Hathaway, Adam DeVine and Robert DeNiro.
October
Another Frankenstein film? I like James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe, making it a very British adaption. Radcliffe is Igor.
London Has Fallen, stars Aaron Eckhart, so we’ll be thinking about I, Frankenstein during October.
Robert Zemeckis is making a live action film! The Walk with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ben Kingsley. If you get a chance to watch Phippe Petit’s amazing documentary on his high wire walk between the Twin Towers, you really should in anticipation for the film. It reads like an action film, so it makes sense it is being adapted.
Disney’s other live action adaption, The Jungle Book. 2015 is Ben Kingsley’s relaunching year, I guess! All the big names are going to be voice actors in it, which makes sense. Jon Favreau directing. I wonder who Christopher Walken is going to be play?
They are relaunching the beloved Vacation franchise! Plus, sequalizing Vegas Vacation – which I like as they mention Yuma, Arizona several times in it. Chris Hemsworth is in this, marking his fourth film of the year. I imagine Chevy Chase is in this for only a scene.
Guillermo del Toro has a new film, Crimson Peak, which Charlie Hunnam will be in it. Plus and Plus! Tom Hiddleston will be the main guy in it.
St. James Place, is Steven Spielberg’s movie of the year. Amy Ryan, who I really like, is in it. Film stars Tom Hanks and will be a war film. The Coen brothers are writing it, that is one impressive pedigree of a film! Based on a true story of a 1960 U-2 incident.
We are being treated to a Jem and the Holograms live action film. Here is hoping the songs are quality!
November
Spectre, but not that one. This is the latest Bond film! Daniel Crag’s fourth one, Chrostph Waltz is the main bad guy. Monica Bellucci is in it. Good stuff! I should watch Skyfall soon.
The Peanuts film, I’m so excited about!
Friday the 13th is getting a reboot, of course.
The Hunger Games comes to its conclusion.
A Disney Dinosaur animated film, I’m in! NPH is providing a voice.
A lot of classic directors are having films out this year. Ridley Scott has a new one, The Martian. Matt Damon is in it. Here is hoping Kristen Wiig doesn’t bring it down or host SNL to promote it. I bet they get Damon and she tags along. Jeff Daniels, Sean Bean and Donald Glover are going to be in it too!
I was also going to wait until the Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen Christmas film was given a title but that isn’t happening yet either. Anthony Mackie is in it, as well.
December
Star Wars : The Force Awakens, I’m working on a special post for this. So excited that key members of the Original Trilogy are going to be in this! We had to wait until they were all aged correctly. That just saves money!
Sisters, starring Amy Phoeler and Tina Fey, as America demands another film. John Cena in his second film of the year too! Maya Rudolph will be in this, naturally, and Johnny Legs too!
Kung Fu Panda 3 will be the big family film of Christmas. I haven’t seen the sequel. We only saw the first one as the power went out that summer and in Yuma, Arizona, when the air condition stops, you go find a cool place!
Joy, David O. Russell reteaming with Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro. I guess he didn’t want to bring Christian Bale and Amy Adams along. He only wanted his Oscar winners. Hey, Bale and Adams don’t have any films out this year. Shoot!
Mission Impossible 5 is happening. Still haven’t seen the 4th one or maybe the 3rd one as well. Seems like everyone from Ghost Protocol is back, so I like that.
Jackass’ Dirty Grandpa must have been a surprising amount of money as now a comedy film with Zac Efron and Robert DeNiro is coming out.
So that’s the films of the upcoming year. Lots to get excited about!
