I meant to do an initial post about the teaser images Marvel released a few months back, but I was waiting for when news that I was interested in, to come along. That day has arrived!

I forgot about Star Lord being on the teaser image. For some reason, I always imagine him blonde and not a brunette. I just checked my Legendary Star Lord images and he is definitely a blonde. Bold new directions!

Which I’m surprised that Marvel is going a month early as I thought these were meant for November but I’m sure these new number ones are counted in the 60 new titles.

This is the title that has me the most excited! Jeff Lemire and Humberto Ramos on Extraordinary X-Men! The roster is – Storm, Old Man Logan, Nightcrawler, the young Jean Grey, Colossus, Magik and Iceman! So excited that Magik has made the cut! Not that thrilled that the Original Five X-Men are still around.

Dennis Hopeless and Mark Bagley tackle the All New X-Men, minus Jean but with X23 (Wolverine now) and (Arch)angel. So that title is a pass for me.

Tom Taylor and David Lopez are handling X23 as Wolverine, so another pass.

Cullen Bunn and Greg Land get the (would-be) flagship title of Uncanny. Their roster is – Magneto, Sabretooth, Psylocke, Mystique and Fantomex! So Uncanny is the X-Force style title, I guess now. That’s another pass for it.

I’ll still order them on Hastings, as I might as well ensure that I get a copy. So, to me, the real flagship title is going to be Extraordinary X-Men. I really like the use of a new adjective. I like Hopeless enough and I guess I like Ramos enough too, so Magik is still going to be drawn in that style Ramos and Bachalo (though I see them as being completely different artists but I know some people group them together in the same style) so that’s nice.

Now I’m just waiting for news on where Kitty Pryde and Lockheed land. I imagine as full members of Guardians of the Galaxy as we need to get the Pryde-Quill wedding! I am interested to see how much everything will be the same after Secret Wars 2015. Is it going to be just character shake ups but we are going to pick up the storylines from prior to the event and deal with the few changes that the new world / universe, now has to offer? That’s what I’m imagining.

All titles take place eight months later the end of Secret Wars 2015 8. I’m sure there will be a proper series that fills the gaps.

The new Ultimates title doesn’t have Shadowcat in it, so that’s disappointing.

Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino are going to tackle Old Man Logan’s new adventures. I’m pretty intriqued to see him respond to everything the current Marvel Universe has to offer. Especially as he kept the memory of killing the X-Men alive for so long (as he should!).

Gerry Duggan and Mike Hawthrone are on Deadpool, we knew he wasn’t really dead. Shame Brian Posehn is off the title but I can only imagine Duggan was doing the lion’s share on the title.

After I had guessed that if Bendis was done with Guardians, they would hand it to Sam Humphries – to continue his StarKat relationship, they updated with the story that Bendis and Valerio Schiti are still on the title. The roster is – Venom, Thing, Drax, Rocket and a female Star Lord, which could be Cosmic Kitty, right? Or Quill’s half sister? I like the guess that it could be Abigail Brand but still, it looks like I won’t be getting this title.

I do like how, in the same story, they mention Sam Humphries and an unknown interior artist (Dave Johnson is on covers) are all on, Star Lord. Which is a shame, as I really want to know where Kitty is in this sphere that is the Marvel Universe.

Which now that we know Brand is in Captain Marvel’s new series, this very well could be Kitty? She could have just had a quick wedding and now is going by Kitty Quill, or it could be one of his old suits.

It definitely is a woman, and her body does match Kitty’s. I will subscribe to the title, so be on the safe side.

I’m sort of liking Humberto Ramos’ update to Magik’s outfit.

That team doesn’t look too bad, actually. Storm all in white is interesting and Colossus growing a beard, isn’t horrible. I’m surprised Domino isn’t on this team. Sort of has that Dark Phoenix era feel to the roster – with most of the team being there – Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, a Wolverine, a Jean Grey – no Cyclops and I guess Magik has the Kitty role here. Not too bad.

Apparently, something happens between the X-Men and the Inhumans (of course) and this team – officially being given the Flagship status – is dealing with the fallout.

So funny, I didn’t even see Iceman on the cover until I read his name in the Newsarama article.

I do like how the big two websites (in my mind) are now dealing with the reveals of titles, as it started feeling like a very elaborate gag.

Dennis Barger of Wonderworld Comics in Michigan, posted all of the covers in the would be 64 page preview book that came out last Wednesday, that I didn’t get a copy of as I guess Hastings are not considered real comic book retailers. Which is a huge shame.

So of those images, it looks like I’m really interested in two titles – Extraordinary X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy, but I’m sure there will be more, such as Star Lord.

At my count, there is only 50 titles shown (plus or minus a few – I was counting fast) so there could be ten secret titles, yet to be announced. My guess is that those ten titles directly deal with the fallout of Secret Wars 2015, one being a Reed and Susan title (of some sort) as they are the only Fantastic Four members, still not accounted for.

There sure are not that many Marvel specific panels. I knew the movies were not going to have coverage, waiting for the DisneyCon (D23 Expo 2015) which is August 14, 15 & 16. But I figured there would still be comic related panels.

Who won Battle of the Block? Who were the nominees? Get excited!

I really don’t want Mama Da to be given too much of a spotlight. Audrey is crazy nuts, so I’m glad that Shelli is not really in their three person alliance.

James likes to think about Becky and Shelli in a tub, in bikinis, together.

Oh man, Audrey, I’ve read online with how crazy you are but glad to see footage. Audrey tries to tell her big 8 person alliance that Vanessa is leading an all lady alliance. NEXT, Audrey tells Vanessa that there is a rumor about her being part of an all girl alliance. Which is crazy nuts! THEN!, Vanessa confronts Audrey about how Audrey told Vanessa that the rumor came from Da’vonne. Luckily, Da’vonne was in the room and denied that. Da’vonne calls a house meeting – which is never good! Audrey, is playing way too hard. Vanessa does not appreciate that Audrey lied and then Audrey TELLS THE ROOM that they are all lying to Vanessa, BUT THEY ALL KNOW THE TRUTH! The heck!?!

Da’vonne reveals Audrey’s handiwork to Clay, so now they know that Audrey is playing EVERYONE! Oh Audrey, your game is done! She can only hope that someone else causes a party plunder but I can’t imagine what that could be. To be in a house with fourteen other folks, and have them all mad at you? That can’t be fun. Audrey is the main target, of the house – PreHoH. Man, the seasons gets better and better, earlier and earlier. People come to play and play hard!

HoH room! Da’vonne doesn’t want to see it. Becky got a letter from her sisters. Shelli’s parent wrote her letter. What is Production’s plan, once Da’vonne is gone?

Becky knows about Audrey being so unliked. Becky and Shelli seem like they will be super fun together. They plan on backdooring Audrey. Shelli wants to keep Clay safe and Becky wants to put up Steve, as the poor guy is awkward. I do like the idea of just calling each houseguest into a room and finding out where everyone stands.

Clay wants Da’ out, that makes sense. Shelli thinks Audrey is too easy of a target. Which is a classic BB philosophy, keep the big targets in the house – ahead of you. Shelli and Clay on the couch, she is wearing a black shirt and blue shorts. Clay is wearing a blue shirt and black shorts, freaky! Shelli brings in John to try to throw the competition, so that she can backdoor Da’vonne. Shelli / Clay / Jeff / Becky / John, not a bad alliance. They need Steve!

John sounds a bit like Bobcat Goldthwait.

Becky tells the train story, that I’ve read about! So glad that Production aired this! That explains the lip, so I will let that go. I wonder if they aired this due to the backlash of last season’s Victoria’s birdnapping story, never getting aired. How does one not hear or feel a train coming?

Steve got to sleep in the same bed as Liz, but we don’t get to see how awkward that must have been.

I needed the BotB to be reexplained to me. I was confused as wouldn’t Shelli want Da’Vonne to win, so that she can stay HoH? But instead, the winner of BotB (from the nominees’ standpoint) unseats the HoH who nominates them, so Shelli needs Da’Vonne to lose, to say HoH.

So I’ve been watching Season Two, and Krista just went home. Monica made a comment about how no black person can win Big Brother (she meant her own season) but looking at the winners, there has been no winners who are not white. Except for season four’s Jun, she is Korean (from what I’ve been told) but 16 winners, all but one is white. How odd, right? Except that for every 16 players, there is only one person of color (sometimes two) so the chances are pretty slim. I was surprised Boogie got out, so quickly. I just like watching Will, and any future winner, during their season. Everything that they do, gets them to the end.

Da’Vonne and Jason think that they are the targets though Jason suspects that Audrey is part of a back door plan. Becky explains to Jason and Steve, that they are pawns and that Audrey is going to be backdoored.

Audrey asks Shelli and Clay if there is a chance that Audrey could be back doored. Shelli is smart enough to deny that. I do like how Clay implies that Audrey was breaking up a good time.

I do enjoy John, him and Steve have to go far!

Battle of the Block Competition!

I would not have chosen Audrey for the hosting gig. Every challenge, thus far, has been television or film related. Production is getting a lot of work out of the GingerFever concept. I hope Andy gets something for his image usage.

This seems super easy to throw, just keep pointing the camera in the wrong direction. The teams have to wear a giant shirt together.

Big Brother 17 – Thursday – July 2, 2015

Who went home? Who is the new Head of Household? Plus, the twin is revealed!

First up, sorry this isn’t being posted Friday morning. We stayed up as late as 10:36pm to see if we were going to get the Thursday episode but we didn’t. So we are thinking that it would come on at 11pm, which would work for us (maybe) but my wife hasn’t been sleeping well the past few nights so this had to wait one more day. Then I had my July 4th post already so it had to wait until Sunday morning. Typically, if we can’t watch the Thursday episode at 11pm – and there may be nights when we can’t stay up that late due to a nineteen month old baby, my episode review should arrive on the next Saturday. Sorry about this, we are still trying to work out all of the kinks, but this should be the last one that is expected. Like Chenbot says, expect the unexpected!

Frankie is in the audience and he really wants us to see him there.

I’ve been watching BB2 and Chenbot’s interviews are exactly the same – the worst.

Jace is the target.

Two HoHs tonight! I’m a bigger fan of just crowning them both, on the same night.

Kathy Griffin is a celebrity super fan of Big Brother, that makes sense why production likes her.

The Twin Twist! They have to merely save five evictions! They have switched four times. Liz and Julia! Liz is doing Julia’s accent. Liz is a Marketing Coordinator and Julia is a Dental Assistant. The hosuegueest is talking about how there may be a twin twist. They are going to make a single vote tonight – for the first time ever – and do the switch LIVE! Which is super unnecessary.

Oh Jackie, she is dressed for endurance . . . oh they all are. Endurance or a physical challenge.

If I was on the show, I would pimp my social media sites – all of the time! I do like Jace trying to blow up James’ game. That makes sense.

That is my favorite cover of Secret Wars, just because it has Kitty Pryde, who will not physically appear in the story itself. Imagine how much better it would have been! She doesn’t made it, sadly, to the official cover.

Which is a huge shame! She isn’t even swapped out for anyone, we just get to see Nightcrawler’s heels! Which means, whenever there is a Secret Wars 1 homage cover, Kitty is never represented. Which yes, I would have gone insane buying all of those homage covers if she was included.

The Kitty image is also shown at the back of Fantastic Four 265, as an upcoming comic but since I own this issue, I don’t really need to keep that Fantastic Four issue for the exact same reason.

There is a Secret Wars feature, naturally. Lockheed the Dragon, is mention as a participant. There are preliminary sketches of Spider-Man’s new costume. Mostly, instead of a white spider motif it would have been red. Except for the eyes. Kitty is not listed as a hero.

There is an A-Team story.

On the Letters page, four X-Men’s heads are shown – Cyclops, Colossus, Kitty Pryde and Nightcrawler. I like how, at the time the letters page, Notes from Nuts, was written, the miniseries was going to be titled – Ariel and Wolverine. That wouldn’t have been as good. I’m pretty certain those heads are drawn by Paul Smith.

Issue opens with Doctor Doom standing over the fallen X-Men.

Doom lifts Spider-Man up, he is very impress with Norman Osborn and wants to learn what he knows about genetics. Doom is willing to dissect Spider-Man to learn the secrets, a threat that doesn’t happen in many comics.

All New Jean starts trying to play mind games with Van Damme, sadly, this is the first Doom she has ever met. He starts blasting at her. Van Damme claims he is the Sorcerer and Scientist Supreme of the Ultimate Universe. I believe Hank Pym is the Scientist Supreme of the Proper Marvel Universe and of course, Doctor Strange is the proper Sorcerer Supreme. Neither are alive in the Ultimate Universe. Jean tells him that she isn’t trying to win, she is only trying to distract him.

Jean was waking up the X-Men. The Icemen freeze Van Damme, Storm lightning strikes him and the Jeans psychic hit him. Shadowcat is about to phase him out of his armor.

Instead of being defeated by the greatest X-Man, he blows himself up. The X-Men are not sure if what they saw really happened.

Beast wants his revenge on Van Damme and asks X23 to watch his back. He instructs the others to destroy as many Doombots as possible.

Beast totally blew up Castle Van Damme! That is pretty cool. All New Bobby wants to go home.

Meanwhile, the Ultimate Female Access (she looks much younger here) is viewing the Old Man Logan timeline. Which I imagine Bendis knew he was going to be doing an Old Man Logan tie-in for Secret Wars 2015 and giving us a slight taste of it here. I guess he didn’t write Logan out of character, from what I can tell. Was Thing in that storyline? She shuts it down before the page ends.

She opens another portal and sees Volstagg of Asgard.

All New Jean calls the young mutant, Carmen, and we are all reminded about her name now. Her full name is, Carmen Cruise, I love that alliteration. Which now that I think of it, Bendis does do quite often, makes the characters seem like they are instantly classic.

I like Beast’s “this is not a dream or imaginary story” line. Ultimate Iceman wants the All New X-Men to go back home.

I guess Carmen is like Access, and she is constant in all universes but she was in high school or college, right? She looks like a young kid here.

Jean tells Carmen that is all things; a key, a door and a path.

The Jeans are going to calm and guide her. I like that X23 has a plan for if anything comes out of portals. They are not expecting Carmen to get it right. What are the Jeans looking for exactly, when they open a portal? The X-Men at the Jean Grey School, listening to Xavier’s Last Will and Testament? Spider-Man wants to know what X23 thinks is going to pop out of a portal.

The first portal they open together leads to House of M. I do not see HoM Kitty there, only Rogue, Wolverine and Spider-Man. Kitty should be at that final fight. Is House of M a dimension that one can get to? I guess we have revisited there in this storyline and various other miniseries such as, House of M : Civil War. Makes sense that Bendis would feel comfortable showing one of his few Alternate Universes that he created.

Ultimate Shadowcat swears, she’s been hanging out with Bombshell to much!

I don’t recognize that universe with demons or some such nonsense. Apparently they are the Horsemen of Apocalypse from Bendis’ opening arc on Avengers (Volume Four) with all of the time travel and alternate universes. Apocalypse and his horsepeople are – Red Hulk, Wolverine, Spider-Man (with the arms) and Scarlet Witch.

Poor James Howlett, must be constantly disappointed that he doesn’t have alternate versions of himself, they are all his father.

Beast tries to give some advice and Carmen tries one more time.

All New Jean sees Superior Iron Man and the new Thor. She reads Tony’s mind and confirms that it is disgusting and that is the world she calls home. All New Iceman is all too ready to go home.

The two teams are making their goodbyes. Ultimate Iceman wants All New Iceman to be gone. Shadowcat wants them to listen to her counterpart, as she sounds like a genius. Angel is worried that Kitty is going to kill her young teammates. All New Jean kisses Spider-Man, as he was a good friend.

All New X-Men leave for their world. Jean tells Spider-Man that she isn’t going to kiss him. Redheads, Miles has the same luck as Peter did. Diamondback from All New Ultimates was also kissed him. They all confirm that Iceman is annoying in every world. Which I think is pretty harsh, as Ultimate Iceman isn’t annoying at all. Well, he was with the whole Rogue / Shadowcat love triangle but that was more of a dick move than annoying.

All New X-Men reunite Carmen with her mother, who takes Carmen being a mutant pretty well.

The issue ends with Beast wanting to end mutant bigotry and he is going to use Jean to accomplish it.

Get excited!!! It is the first PoV of the season!

Steve is upset that he is still on the block, I hope he gets off tonight.

I’m having a crazy deja vu with an Asian country guy, talking to PeeWee Herman and my wife on the couch, wearing a gray shirt and camo shorts – like this is from a weird dream. Freaky

James is trying to form an alliance with Meg and Cody as well as, Jason and Da’vonne. Oh and Audrey. Seven people, that’s all one needs.

Steve is doing what I would do in the house – try to work out with one of the guys and hope that they guide me through the process.

Oh Jace, he comes out, nude (but with a hat over his junk) running around and no one is impress or thinking it is funny. That isn’t what one wants. Austin can tell that Jace may be in jeopardy.

James may be in a second alliance with Audrey, Austin and Jace – or they are at last doing some game talk. Austin’s tattoos are too much. Cloud Town, is the name of the alliance and only Jace likes it. James and Audrey are just telling him what he wants to hear.

CBS All Access really wants me to learn about B.E.D., the eating disorder that deals with binge eating. Tennis star (so the screen says) Monica Seles suffered with it.

Da’vonne is counting everything! So funny! They didn’t do this last season or the season before, I don’t believe.

Cody sort of have a K-Mart Ryan Reynolds thing going on.

Jason and Da’vonne are in the HoH room, so is Audrey – I would not let that nonsense happen when I have the key around my neck. Screw those guys!

I do like Da’vonne talking to the camera. Jeff tries to make her happy. Mamma Da, not a great name. This house, so much napping! I would be awake for most of the day, except for at night. But I get that there is nothing to do, so might as well sleep the day away. Clay apologizes to Da’vonne as well. Well, I thought that was what he was going to try to do but he is just confronting her but doing so, poorly. Oh Clay, why even bother with this. Let crazy just run out. I would have just walked away, as I can’t even be in those conversations. There are better ways to pass the time. Da’vonne starts crying to Audrey, she is going to blow up. Audrey goes to Clay, later and tries to get him to apologize to Da’vonne as she needs to be calmed down. I would be fake apologizing all over the place, it is a good call Clay. Plus, hugs! Though I would try not to hug women, as I’m married and I don’t need that type of heat once I get home. Da’vonne keeps talking to us, so great! She knows Audrey is trying to control her emotions.

I’m glad there is a York Peppermint Patty commercial in the mix, as it is nice change of pace.

Big Brother Slop, is back! It is mostly a protein shake mix.

Audrey brings Shelli into the episode. In the room also is, Jason and James. Audrey wants Jeff too. Poor Jeff was taken from a nice conversation with Meg. Audrey is the Devon from the previous season. Playing too hard and crazy involving too many people. Audrey gets Clay and Meg. Who isn’t in the room, right now? Only the other half of the house.

Steve is doing the forced, will I use the veto on myself, look at the wall thing.

I forgot we haven’t had the official Twin reveal yet. Kathy Griffin is going to be the BBTakeover, I guess Production really liked her last season. She dipped too much into ZingBot territory, but she was funny but the show already has a person for that role. Plus who wins one of the HoH slots (possibly both!)

Jean Grey School v Avengers Academy!

Though the images are quite small. So I had to use the ones below from other sources. The trick to that website is to click the image, zoom in to read it and click the next button.

The students of the Avengers Academy are – Finesse, Hazmat, Lightspeed, Mettle, Reptil, Striker and Veil. The teaching staff are – White Tiger, X23, Hawkeye, Jocasta, Quicksilver, Tigra and Giant Man.

There is a subplot with X23, so this is what happened in the previous issue. Jeremy Briggs atempted to take away superpowers. He started with these students. All but Veil decided to regain their powers. Which is impressive as this title started during Norman Osborn’s Dark Reign. He figured these students would be the next great super villains. During the Briggs battle, the team was down. While X23 was groggy, Finesse used her extended claws to kill Briggs. X23 came around, saw the blood and figured her killer instincts kicked in. Finesse was cool with that and went with it.

Also, Lightspeed is Julie Power, all grown up! Well, at least, a teenager. She doesn’t get much play in this issue so I wanted to point that out.

Issue opens with Striker and Veil talking about the upcoming visitors from the Jean Grey School. Striker is concern that the scars on his face will make him unemployable in Hollywood, his face is his career. Mettle comes in and says the Jean Grey School is talking smack already and Striker comes out as he was opening up.

Mar Vell Field. Giant Man is explaining the situation. The two schools are going to have a tag football game. There will be no tackling, also the faculty will be players as well. Oh, and powers are allowed.

White Tiger throws some smack talk about, Doop counters, she doesn’t know what he said but it seems highly inappropriate. He makes another comment as he floats away. Grummett’s Doop, there is something about it. Maybe its the bumps and the bump hairs, it just seems off model. Could just be the coloring, I bet that is what it is, he’s a paler green.

Wolverine is the one who insisted the faculty play, as he wants to get even with Giant Man from the time he kicked Wolverine out of the plane (at Captain America’s command) back in Avengers vs X-Men 3.

Gambit sees X23, who he was particular a co-star of her ongoing series that folded up so that she could join this school. Gambit wants to know how she is holding up. She killed the enemy (or so she believes) and she’s done it before so she is dealing with it as she does. Which is just moving on to the next task.

Finesse overhears how troubled X23 is over the situation.

I like how Kitty is only seen in the background of the next few pages. But she is there and the Internet has the images so I’ve included them. Thanks Internet!

Reptil (so that they can copyright it, perhaps?) – who is nothing like his Super Hero Squad persona, wants to talk to Finesse. Reptil has the powers of the past but is also from the future – if I’m understanding this correctly. Apparently he has also reveal to her that they are future lovers but she is dealing with her inner struggle (the best kind!) about coming clean to X23. All he wanted was to get her opinion on a football play by Joe Montana. I believe Finesse has the same powerset that Taskmaster has.

That face Gambit is making!

Gambit wants to give Reptil some advance. Reptil takes a stab at what that advice is going to be – grow his hair long and start talking like Pepe le Pew. It works for Gambit – oddly enough – but no that wasn’t what he was going to say. His advice is a good one, if a lady says she needs space, best to just give her her space. She knows that she is putting the guy in a place where he could become attracted to another person but that’s a chance she’s going to have to take as well.

Nice staging with Finesse walking by Rogue so that Gambit is giving himself that same advice.

Reptil worries that Finesse may realize she doesn’t want to pursue a relationship, and that will suck, but that’s her decision as well.

The game finally gets started! Grummett draws a fantastic Lockheed!

Look how great that sight gag is! Iceman threw ice shards, taking off all of the AA students’ tags and Hawkeye shot arrows taking all of the JGS students’ tags off. Kitty, naturally, throws them both out of the game.

Veil is on the sidelines. Kitty and Lockheed take the time to get to know her. She doesn’t have her powers anymore. For some reason, she still wears all of those bandages. They don’t get into that, so that remains a question.

Veil was, if she hadn’t lost her powers, would have become a ghost in a matter of years. Subject matter that Kitty is all to familiar with. So that’s a fantastic job on Gage’s part to pair these two for a conversation.

Veil is worried about going back to being a loser. Kitty assures her that with all of her life experience, she is nothing like what she use to be. There can be no going back. Kitty tells her to get into the game.

Kitty sees Lyra about to give Quire the beating he deserves and kicks them out of the game.

Kitty really could have done better and not just wore a yellow shirt with a giant X on it, right? I get that the shirt is free and she wants to present, but this is as casual of a situation as it could get and she probably just threw on the first t-shirt she saw.

Quire is excited to learn that the planet Lyra comes from, they make slaves of their men. She will crush him, and he wants her too. Oh to be seventeen again.

While they were organizing this game, someone must have told Kitty about Veil’s circumstances.

The game picks up again and Rockslide gives Mettle a bit of a heart attack by making him believe he almost killed Rockslide. Rockslide just laughs at what he believes was a good gag.

Mettle runs off and Hazmat, his would be girlfriend, tells Rockslide off. Mettle is dealing with PTSD (from killing a Nazi, something I believe I could handle with no ill effects) and doesn’t need additional trauma being added to his already full plate. Hazmat attempts to kick Rockslide’s rocky balls but he doesn’t have any. Even if he did, he is made of rocks, and that would have hurt Hazmat regardless. Plus, he’s made of sharp rocks, she is risking tearing her radiation suits, thus risking exposing all of the people on the field to radiation poisoning. Hence, why Osborn thought she would make an amazing villain.

Mettle and Rockslide get to talking. Turns out, Mettle does have a pair down there. When everyone didn’t have their powers, Mettle and Hazmat didn’t waste the moment and were able to be physical. Now that they have their powers, there is a certain level of awkwardness, as they can no longer be physical.

Rockslide tells him to make it work, as a guy who doesn’t have private parts down there, at least Mettle has something and should be thankful. I’m not exactly sure what Mettle’s situation is. Why does he have that red skeleton?

The AA students want Striker to guard against Anole. Anole knows fully well why they are doing this. Anole and Striker are the only homosexuals (that are out) on the field. The AA students are just trying to hook a guy up. Anole use to get the same thing over at the JGS. They mean well and eventually they will learn what your time is. Those are good friends.

Striker is still new to being out, it seems. Striker, who is also an actor, is worried no one will look at him, romantically, again. Anole tells him that he has a normal arm, a Popeye arm, green skin and scales. He goes out with a slew of dudes, both flatscanners and mutants. Striker confesses that he wouldn’t give himself a second look, and Anole gives the awesome advice of – strive for someone better than you.

Striker doesn’t catch the ball and Anole intercepts. Striker is regulated to guarding against Glob Herman. That’s pretty low.

Giant Man throws the football to Reptil, it succeeds. Good hussle out there, Rogue!

Giant Man reverts to Regular Man height, he is having fun. Just then, Wolverine pounces on him, from behind! Now the two of them are even steven.

Jocasta, who is also kicking people off the field, ejects both of them. Wolverine states it is worth it. Pym, not letting a moment pass, asks if they have any more grief amongst them.

Tigra doesn’t want to hash anything out, and attacks Wolverine. Somehow, Pym is able to date Tigra. How did that happened? That guy got both Wasp and Tigra, there must be something about him. He just has the touch.

Tigra calls Wolverine a “aboot-saying troll” that’s pretty funny!

Jocasta starts charging her tasers. Which she does zap the two of them. Tigra has an afro and Wolverine says it was worth it. I like how he’s just game for small insignificant fights. Nice effect having Tigra’s tail being fluffy too, good follow through.

Lightspeed, who is mostly just seen in backgrounds up to this point, wants Quicksilver to play. He’s more of a fan of the European futbol, which makes sense.

Warbird, takes this opportunity to mock Quicksilver. This was during the time when Black Bolt and the Inhumans were the heads of the Kree Empire. Which makes Crystal a Kree Princess. Which also makes sense as the Inhumans are an offshoot of the Kree.

Quicksilver isn’t that fond of the Shi’ar, who is at this point?

Quicksilver wants to punch Warbird, which seems highly inappropriate but she wants him to, so there’s that.

Very fun running gag of Jocasta’s so readiness to charge tasers.

Giant Man wants to make sure Wolverine and him are square. Wolverine is glad a nerd like him can throw a decent party. Now that no faculty members are in the game, Wolverine tells everybody to switch up. The game is no longer school v school.

Warbird follows up with Quicksilver, he is no coward. She continues to tell him that his divorce is the joke of the galaxy. Then we get the most real and honest character moment I believe Quicksilver has had in a while. Warbird wonders why he didn’t just kill his bride for her betrayal. (Which is an question to pose to someone) He didn’t because he was a horrible husband and worst father. Luna, his daughter, doesn’t even want to talk to him. Which is why he is teaching at a school, to try to be a better person.

Quicksilver assumes that this display of weakness is a complete turn off to Warbird. On the contrary, she is all riled up and makes out with him.

Back to the game. X23 tackles Rockslide and gets cut up in the process. He tells her how silly that was, as all she had to do is tear his flag off. As she walks away, Rockslide makes an aside to Glob Herman, he misses her sports bra era. Now she has the uniform that is barely seen on the cover and in the images above.

Finesse finally comes clean with X23. Naturally, X23 takes huge offense to being used as a weapon, that’s what she was made to be and what she is fighting so hard to no longer be. Though she is often the X-Men’s weapon, especially during her X-Force days, but that’s a different deal as she was choosing to be a weapon – I guess?

X23 tells Finesse that she’s killed everybody who has ever made her into a weapon, so now she is on notice.

Kitty talks to Jocasta about how she left the Academy. Which is odd, as she is right here on the field. She’s a robot, so that makes sense that she can’t even do that right.

Jocasta is having a philosophical problem with the Academy, which Kitty can relate to as the X-Men are dealing with their own Schism. Jocasta isn’t sure their school is the right idea for the students, it may be doing more harm than good.

Jocasta gives Mettle a final warning, he doesn’t want to be tased. Him rassling with Blob makes sense, they seem to be in the same powerset / situation, where their bodies are either chrome or pink glob.

The team has gone through some hard times, as of late. Also, Jocasta doesn’t like how they don’t have a distinct uniform.

Pym, like a total creep, was on his way to the ladies, in ant form, and overheard the conversation. Is that really the fastest mode of transportation, for him? He does realize the situation and tries to explain away the creepiness but it still lingers there. He just wanted to know if they wanted anything from the grill.

Kitty fully understands what it is like to be young and on a superhero team. She was only 14 when she was on the X-Men and she saw a slew of things she shouldn’t have. She didn’t become jaded though, as she was part of a legendary team.

Iceman overhears the uniform conversation. The X-Men had a team uniform until they graduated and received individual costumes.

Jocasta is nice enough to not call Iceman an idiot but politely tells him that the AA students already have individual uniforms.

This was during the time when Iceman and Shadowcat were dating. Kitty references her roller skate outfit, that she made herself, and Iceman has an image of it to show. I wish Grummett took the time to redraw it here, as that would have been fun.

Pym wants to show the students that they have accomplished something. He can’t make them full Avengers yet but they need something. He comments on how new uniforms always made Wasp feel better. Is it odd that he calls her, Janet? I think of her as either Wasp or Jan.

Jocasta points out that new uniforms may not be the solution.

Hazmat wants to know what the score is but the adults are just gabbing and generally having a good time.

Giant Man pulls a pretty good prank by dousing Wolverine’s hamburger with Pym Particles and it grows to cartoonish size. He could really be solving world hunger with that trick.

Issue ends with Mettle wanting this to become a tradition. It doesn’t.

This was a fun issue.

Maybe I will learn more when I get my two issues of their series off of my Wishlist. Issue 3, for the Women of Marvel variant – which will probably have some answers. Issue 32, I also want, as Magik appears in it as it is a AvX crossover tie-in.

According to the polybag I keep the issue in, this comic cost me eight dollars!

Dead of night at Xavier’s School for the Gifted. Warlock is watching ten television sets.

Apparently, he is watching it very loudly as the rest of the team is woken up. It is always interesting to see what the heroes wear to bed. Illyana is the only one in what could be a sexy outfit, which makes sense.

Warlock is upset that he has angered his friends. Illyana just wants Warlock to get some life experience from the real world and not from televisions.

Warlock doesn’t understand what real life is. People think Illyana is going too far but it had to be said.

Wolfsbane tells Warlock that New York City is pretty real. So he takes off for the big apple.

Spider-Man, in his black costume, is swinging across the city. He comes across some small animals on the street. The poor little critters have pieces of cybernetics sticking out of them. Spider-Man enters the laboratory the animals are coming out of. The Animal Liberation Front are the ones releasing the creatures. Spider-Man knows it isn’t right but sticking machinery into little animals, isn’t right either.

Warlock has taken the form of David Letterman and attracting lots of attention, so he changes to another person.

Spider-Man has a ASPCA Representative tell him that the lab has to be shut down. The wires sticking out of the animals are hurting them in a way. Warlock sees Spider-Man and goes into a toy store. People think he is a toy and he makes friend with a scientist. He takes him home, where we learn that his wife is also a scientist. Warlock gives up a piece of his skin for examination purposes. Something happens and Warlock gets supercharged by energy.

Spider-Man is still swinging around. He hears giant steps and swings around a corner. Godlock, Warlock as Godzilla, is stomping around, holding the lady doctor. Spider-Man tries to move Warlock in a safer direction.

There is a subplot dealing with the business of Peter having to set up his camera to take pictures.

Warlock’s main personality is slowly coming through. Then he turns into King Kong. So naturally, he starts climbing a building. King Konglock. That isn’t clever at all.

Warlock turns into a rocket and blasts himself off into the sky. It was the only way to get rid of all that excess energy. Don’t worry, Warlock comes back to the ground as a giant black puddle of goo. He’s okay.

That night, the New Mutants welcome Warlock back to the mansion. Warlock has decided to turn into a human shape and will attempt to dream, which is what caused all of this in the first place. He wants to dream and New York City is where dreams come true.

Not a a bad issue. It feels more like an extra length Marvel Team-Up with Warlock issue.

What I’m most proud of, and you have already seen it before you saw this, is the new theme! We went from the retired Vostok to Parament, and I couldn’t be happier! There may be some slight edits as the transition moves but I’ve been really wanting a right side bar for the longest time. After one of the nice WordPress team members assured me that I wouldn’t lose all of my information or weird formatting issues wouldn’t happened, I’ve been just waiting for this day to bring the new site online.

At first, I didn’t care for the Orange aspects, but it is growing on me.

Who wins the Battle of the Block and who are the nominees? Let’s find out, get excited!

This is the first editted episode.

James and Jason are the two HoHs. Amazing Race’s Phil has more to do with his BBTakeover. Da’vonne and Vanessa are suppose to be rewarded.

New title sequence! Liz and Becky are clearly meant to be the two hotties of the season, with their title sequence. Does anyone know where I can find gifs for those? It took forever to get Brittany’s title sequence gif to appear online, from last year.

Jeff looks so familiar, but I don’t know where I would know him from. He reminds me of the actor, Chris Romano.

#BroCode! I hope someone is keeping track of these.

Becky is already in a bikini. Looking good.

First HoH room! It does look like a room on top of a cloud. Oh Jason, it isn’t that much of a burn telling your mother that you are living upstairs.

Jace needs to calm the heck down, with regards to the ladies! Reminds me of Caleb from BB16.

Jason and James are trying to figure out who should be nominated.

I love Steve hitting on Liz!

BBTakeover! I wish Phil was hosting this show too. Phil introduces BBFFastForward, they are safe this week. Just like the Amazing Race’s FastForward. I’m okay with Da’vonne and Vanessa being safe. Oh and they get to take a partner, that is awesome! Great way to make friends but alliance rumors will be created. Thirty minutes isn’t much time to pick a partner. That’s it for Phil. Vanessa is smart to just have a meeting with everyone. First up is Shelli. I’m barely being able to remember everyone. I really need to go to my blogs, inbetween episodes. She says no to Cody and Austin, as they are super safe. Da’vonne does the same thing, which is smart. Shelli is suspicious why Da’vonne isn’t picking an alliance member of Audrey and Shelli.

Is Steve threaten by Ian-vibe? I hope not! Someone save him!

Vanessa is far more entertaining than Da’vonne, I wish Vanessa got more of the sequence.

Da’Vonne takes – Liz! Awesome!

Vanessa takes – Austin! I must have missed the person who came inbetween him and Cody, I could have sworn it was him.

CBS All Access seems to have calmed down on the ads.

They are really trying to make Austin / Jace (Jacetin?) into a thing. I’m over them already. Shelltown, such a lame knock off of Chill Town.

Cody and Shelli are still hitting it off. I’m the same age as Shelli. Da’vonne is super jealous, already.

Audrey wants to bond with Jason, over their share culture.

I love how awkward Steve is!

Da’vonne is just, Dave, in the house. James is trying to get an alliance with her and Audrey. One week alliances is the way to go, in the first weeks. Is Jace that much of a Beast? Jace is the first target. I won’t miss him.

We do like John, the Dentist, but I (ironically) can’t remember his name.

Meg does not look that much like Taylor Swift.

Nominations! Jason goes first, then James.

Jason – John! (no!) and Becky (double no!)
Jason – Steve! (triple no!) and Jackie, who I don’t care about.

Shame they went four pawns.

I guess we are not getting the competition with only eleven minutes left.

Audrey and Da’vonne are so excited.

Steve takes this chance to talk with Jackie. So awkward, she’s so positive and he is all over the place.

Becky’s upper lip is odd, right? Like bad lip injection or something? I imagine it will go down. Jason tries to calm Becky down.

What do I know, I guess they can do a competition in the last eight minutes. If I wasn’t going for a ‘live’ vibe, I would just go edit the above but we keep it real here at S&FwM.

The comp? Build a new skyscraper. Vanessa isn’t a horrible host slash reader. DoBob, is the name of the comp but I needed it explain to me – it is like Bob the Builder, pretty clever.

Nice use of video game music. It seems like it took a while to get the rhythm of the challenge.

Both teams seem to be neck to neck.

The winners – Becky and John! Way to go! Jason has been dethroned.

Pretty great first comp! Well, third I guess. Pretty great first Battle of the Block! Now we need to play PoV (Power of Veto!)

Shelli is one of the other attractive ladies, on the show. Still no official pool photo, I wonder if they are waiting until the twins are in the house together but, by then, there will be less people so who knows. Maybe I’m just not finding it right.
