Big Brother 16 : Sunday – September 7, 2014

Who won the second HoH of the night?  Who got nominated?  Get excited!

Also, what does Jeff and Jordan have to say?

Jeff is going to purpose to Jordan.  Country star Bret Eldridge shows up too.

I forgot all of the boos Christine got as she exited.  Cory should also get lots of boos.

Wow, Frankie called it within seconds – a reset button.

Is it a real button?  Or just a picture of a button?

The button is housed in the old Have Not room.

Who is going to press the button?

Surprised that the audience booed Christine, I heard the audience is typically just production crew.

Frankie talks to Cory about how the boos were due to Christine’s casual abuse of her wedding vows.

Victoria left the room and the boys have a big ol’ group hug.  She is next out of the house.

HoH Competition is Farm Related.

Does Production always air the host reading the rules of the competition, then immediately air a DR session with another person repeated the rules with a slight variation?  Seems like an odd choice of television time usage.

Looks like the rain was an unnecessary obstacle.

Frankie and Caleb seem to be equally good at this competition.

Caleb just had to reset!  This does seem to be one of the hardest competitions Big Brother has done.

Frankie won HoH, there goes that plan.

Frankie should nominate Cody and Caleb.

They now have the option to press the button.

I would wait a few days.

I do love that they are discussing it.  There is a countdown clock now that they pressed the button.

Victoria, being the last lady standing doesn’t result in anything both in or out of the house.

Caleb needs to put on some pants!

I love how nervous they get when the doorbell rings.

I am a bigger fan of Jeff than Jordan.

Ever since Walker Dennis came into our lives, I get super sappy about these things.

Jeff and Jordan have known each other for five years.  #BBProposal

Jeff brought her puppy.  And her family!  I have a little tear right now.  His family showed up as well.

The show sort of stopped.

Houseguests showed up with a cake.

Bret Eldridge, who I have never heard of, sings a song.  Caleb is a fan.

I love this montage of Jeff and Jordan!  I miss those two so much!

The song is, Mean to Me, or something like that.

It doesn’t matter what Frankie does this week, it all gets reset on Wednesday.  Here’s hoping they all remain civil to each other.

I wonder if Production is embarrassed that they spotlighted the Dallas Cowboys a few weeks ago and they bombed hard today.

Nominations – Cody & Victoria

Victoria has been nominated seven times!   Insane

Next episode is Tuesday night.

They screwd us all out of four minutes!

. . .

Anyone watching FOX’s Utopia?  It is supposed to be a year long and very loose Big Brother type of show.  From what we saw of the first one, it is stunningly awesome.

All New Doop 3

Posted by John Klein III on September 6, 2014

All New Doop 3

Writer Peter Milligan

Artists David Lafuente and Jacopo Camagni

Colorist Laura Allred

Letterer VC’s Clayton Cowles

Cover by Mike Allred

The best X-Mini of the year continues!

Previously, Doop intervened in the Battle of the Atom to give things a little push, but he’s bitten off more than he can chew.

There is something about the art this issue, that really popped for me.  I wonder if it was the addition of Camagni.

All New Doop 3 Kitty Rachel

I really like the way Rachel and Kitty look at the beginning of the issue, as they look for ‘Kate Pryde’ who is really Raze.  Which reminds me, we still don’t know what happens to Kitty in this future timeline.  It is great to finally have it be addressed that Kate isn’t the one that Rachel knows so well.

Otherwise, in Doopspace.  Between the margins.  Beyond the story.  Raze recognizes Doop and stabs him.  In retaliation, Doop vomits on him.  Doop reveals he knows who Raze is, and who his parents are.  He isn’t sure how he knows it, his head is full of information.

Anarchist, from X-Statix, shows up to assist Doop in this confrontation.  I do like how the artists threw in No-Girl, the only character people want to see from that title – besides Doop, himself.

Doop is about to go tell Kitty who these Future Brotherhood of Evil X-Men are, and who really is Kate Pryde.  Raze blackmails Doop into not doing it.  If Doop does, Raze will reveal to the world the truth about Doop’s mother.

Which gives me the impression that this is suppose to be a back door Doop origin story.  Which I am fine with.  I still don’t know much about Doop.

Fun scene with Kitty and Rachel planning to leave the place Kate was just at.  Kate states a similar statement that Kitty jokely said Kate would do.

Anarchist is trying to build Doop’s confidence so that Doop can speak to his mother.

Doop pulls present day Iceman from a fight.  Doop, both, reveals that he proposed to Kitty and points out how useless Iceman is.

Doop brings Kitty to where he left Iceman.  I really like how Milligan gets to explain why Kitty and Iceman broke up.  Yet, it still fits with what was established.

All New Doop 3 Kitty Iceman 1

All New Doop 3 Kitty Iceman 2

All New Doop 3 Kitty Iceman 3

If I am going to start scanning pages, I really should learn how to trim pictures down but I have no idea what I need to do that.

I can’t believe that Iceman would throw Colossus in her face, but I bet he was always insecure about measuring up to the Russian.

They break up due to Iceman not supporting her and her not trusting him.

Doop takes Iceman back to the fight scene.  Once he comes back, Kitty tells him that the forced conservation was mean and unnecessary.  Doop wanted Kitty to quit wasting her time with Iceman, so she can have true happiness.  Doop believes his meeting with his mother might end with Doop’s death.  Kitty offers to help but he needs to do this on his own.

Jean Grey School for Higher Learning.  Magik comes back from the future with Past Beast and Iceman.  Doop takes a small piece of Magik’s um magic.  Now he can teleport to his mother.  Once there, he uses the phrases Anarchist told him.

Mama Doop is embarrassed that it took so long for Doop to learned English.  Issue ends with Doop asking his mother to tell him everything.

Big Brother 16 : Thursday – September 4, 2014

Posted by John Klein III on September 5, 2014
Posted in: Reality Television. Tagged: BB16, Big Brother. Leave a comment

Who went home, Nicole or Victoria?  Who is the new HoH?  Was Chenbot horrible?  Let’s come together and figure this out!

That’s right, double eviction tonight!’

Julie Chen looks very conservative and nice tonight.

Voice over guy is getting into his narration.

A game changing twist?  What could it be?

Nicole is wearing that red dress again.

Sunday’s episode will have Jeff and Jordan with a big surprise.

Julie is taking the credit for tonight’s twist.

Is Nicole’s low cut black dress, her’s?  Or did she borrow it?  Looks good on her.

I don’t care for the name, Bomb-inators.

Caleb confesses to the thought of back dooring Frankie to Frankie, so dumb.

Frankie thinks it was Cody’s idea.  That Derrick is a genius!

Speeches :

Nicole – stop playing Big Baby, and start playing Big Brother.  Such a good line.  Speeches have been lame for the most part.

The Votes :

Christine – Nicole

Derrick – Nicole

He shaved!

Frankie – Nicole

Nicole is officially out.

Cody is getting into character, and had a fun exchange with Julie.

Cody – Nicole

Houseguests are dressed for a quiz.

Christine shouted, Enjoy Hayden.  !!!  Derrick said, go get some!  What does it all mean.

Amazing Race back on September 26 or 28, don’t worry, I won’t be tracking it at all.

HoH Quiz :

First Out – Everyone except for Derrick!!!  That was awesome!!!  Surprise that doesn’t happen more often, I know it has happened once before. Are we going to get extra time at the end?  I doubt it.

Survivor coming back as well.  Blood v Water 2 – too many veteran seasons

Production purposely dragging out moments.

Nominations :

Victoria & Christine, lame how Derrick blamed the house for the decision

Everyone plays for Veto.

Production likes to do this style of puzzle for the second Double Eviction Veto.  Dr. Ian Terry won it last year.

Frankie winning would be the worst.  Which he did. This twist better add some excitement to the final weeks.

So Christine is following Nicole out of the house, most likely.

Are the kids in the Kindle Fire Phone meant to be siblings?  I like their odd couple feel.  I see there is a new Lily AT&T commercial but my wife keeps fast forwarding it.

Fashion Rocks is up there with the Victoria’s Secret show, for poor specials that CBS has.

Speeches lame as per usual.

Frankie is not using the Veto.

Team America Task – strave the house, but they eat in secret OR keep the house awake via hunting a mouse.  Pretty messed up choices there!  No way either one lasts for 24 hours.  Setting them up for failure and maybe an hour or two of entertainment value.

Speeches, still pretty dumb.  I would make awesome speeches when I was nominated.

The Vote :

Frankie – Christine

Caleb – Christine

Christine is officially going home.

Cody – Christine

Poor gal, someone is going to have to pack her bag.

Christine just straight up walked out of the house like a boss.  She walked out to boos that the house heard, as well.

Has the other nominee from the first eviction ever been evicted during the second eviction?  I don’t believe that has happen before.

Good job Julie, not asking why Christine got boos.

Julie ends the show with a lot of talking.

The big twist is – there is a rewind button.  If anyone touches it, the week rewinds and we do it all over again.  Essentially it is just the second half of a double eviction night.  Why one of the nominees wouldn’t press it is beyond me.

We see that the houseguests can see the button but they don’t know what it is for.

We learn who is the HoH on Sunday.

Julie explains how football changed the show’s schedule.  Sunday / Tuesday / Wednesday, let’s hope they just do this going forward into future seasons.

So Big Brother posts here on S&FwM will be Monday / Wednesday / Thursday, which I could have done my Friday posts last month like I originally was going to do.

The other posts, I’m going with either posts about Kitty Pryde, Lockheed and Magik or a fun other type of post.

Big Brother 16 : Wednesday – September 3, 2014

Posted by John Klein III on September 4, 2014
Posted in: Reality Television. Tagged: BB16, Big Brother. Leave a comment

I just found out (via looking ahead to next week’s worth of shows) that Big Brother is moving to Tuesday / Wednesday in order to avoid football delays.  Such a great idea!  I truly wish they had done this two years prior but now they have it and everything should be right again!

Can Nicole win PoV?  Will it be used if she doesn’t win it?  Let’s find out!

Derrick is the first shown in the title sequence, that is still in the house.  Frankie / Victoria are the last seen.

I’m okay with Christine going before Nicole, by a lot.

I would talk to myself so much in the house.  Well, to the live feeders.

It must suck to be in the house all by yourself.  When it was just Jordan and Natalie by themselves, they barely spoke to each other.

Nicole and Victoria should totally work together.

This must be Victoria’s third game talk conversation.  First Derrick, next was Zach.

Chinbot and Chenbot sounds way to similar, Production must know that.

Rachel v Porche, was a title fight.

I love Derrick, so much!  He needs to be in the final two.

I forgot that Christine is from Arizona.  Arizona represent, yo!

Veto Players :

Caleb – Houseguest Choice – Cody

Nicole – Derrick, holla

Christine – Victoria

Frankie is the only one not playing.

Derrick is so in Caleb’s head.

Veto Competition :

I sort of love how over the top the houseguests are pretending to be.

Frankie is trying way to hard to be the new villain of the house.

First one or ones out, wear dinosaur costumes.

Out on

Round One – Cody got blown!  Dino-sored

Round Two – No one

Round Three – Caleb

Round Four – Victoria, she looked cute in DR

Round Five – No one

Round Six – Derrick / Nicole

Big Bang Theory is moving to Mondays?  That’s interesting.

Nicole mouthing her little song, so cute!

Christine won the Power of Veto!  Derrick threw it, if he stayed in, could have kept the nominations the same.

Caleb may make a big move, he totally should.

Seems like everyone wants Frankie out.

Cody doesn’t look cute in the T-Rex costume.

Nicole kissed the head of the costume, that was adorable

At the forty minute mark, feels like a packed episode

Saw an ad for Amazing Race coming back.  So excited!  No more All Stars

The only way to get Frankie out, is via the backdoor.

Derrick is worried about losing another Team America member, don’t worry, there will be no more challenges.

This has been the season of no big moves

They showed footage of Dan’s dead to me speech to Danielle.  That footage looked so dated.  Dan is by far the best player of Big Brother – of all time!  No doubt

Derrick attempts to get rid of Nicole, will it work?  I hope not

Christine used the Veto on herself.

Caleb nominated Victoria, booooo!  Derrick got his way.

Thursday is double evict, Victoria is next to leave right after Nicole.

Wolverine and the X-Men Volume One Issue 10

Posted by John Klein III on September 3, 2014
Posted in: Review. Tagged: Aaron, AvX, Bachalo, Eliopoulos, Olazaba, Townsend, Wolverine and the X-Men. Leave a comment

248415_20120511115621_large

Writer Jason Aaron

Penciler / Colorist Chris Bachalo

Inkers Tim Townsend, Jaime Mendoza. Al Vey and Victor Olazaba

Letterer Chris Eliopoulos

Cover Dated July 2012

See Wolverine in Scott’s visor on the cover?  I missed that for the longest time until someone else drew my attention to it.

Wolverine X-Men 10 Kitty Newsfeed

This issue takes place three hours after the events of AvX 1, when Wolverine and the Avengers attacked Utopia.  In the recap panel, we get to see Bachalo draw Spider-Man, Sunspot, Thing – which looks simply stunning and Giant-Man.  We’ve seen him draw Cyclops, Magik, Domino, Wolverine, Psylocke, Namor, Cannonball and Warpath before.

There is a newscaster showing footage and commentary about the fight but I’m not sure how they got that footage or found out about it.

Kitty, this is during her red attire phase, before she moved on to pink.  Wolverine is talking to her about how conflicted he is over the fight and popping his claws on friends and those he considered family.  He wonders where Cyclops and his team disappeared to.  Kitty looks out the window and draws his attention to outside.

Wolverine X-Men 10 Magik Teleport

We see Kitty and Wolverine approaching Cyclops, Emma and Magik.

We get an awesome two page spread that Bachalo comes up with a great way to get a bunch of talking out of the way and Aaron’s plot and keep the energy and momentum moving.  The top two thirds of the page is Rachel and Iceman talking about how they feel conflicted that they are not in this fight yet.  They are also talking about the new Warren after the events of Uncanny X-Force’s Dark Angel Saga.  Rachel confirms that it is Warren’s body but his mind is a completely new slate.  Iceman swears to find his old friend and bring him back to the surface.  I know they were original five together but have they ever been shown to be that close?

They head out as Wolverine tells Krakoa to fetch.  We get an incredible 80 percent of the page dedicated to Krakoa trying to eat Cyclops.  Wolverine is moving in to end this and Emma diamond punches him in the face.

There is an ad for AvX Vs for issue three, that has Black Widow fighting Magik (Illyana wins) and Juggerolossus fighting Thing, which may have been a draw or Juggerolossus won.

Iceman asks Illyana to not fight and she comments on how much conversations she and her Limbo demons have wondered about if Bobby feels pain when his ice melts.  Turns out he does.  I sort of like how during Illyana’s down time or her ruling time in Limbo, she has demon friends so she isn’t lonely and gossips about her fellow X-Men.

Kitty tells Rachel to hold down Emma so that Kitty can carve herself some earrings.  Rachel is only so glad to do that.

Cyclops finally shouts that this is enough.  He is there to only to talk to Wolverine, one final chance before the war with the Avengers gets out of hand.

From here, Krakoa can be seen watching with just one red eye following them.  It is the only way he learns what is happening.

We see Warren trying to prove he is an actual angel.  He decides to fly to Heaven.  He flies to high and starts crashing to the ground.

Husk is trying to get the students away from the windows.  Genesis is doing research on who Apocalypse is, as his fellow classmates keep calling him Apocalypse Junior and such.

We get another artistic two page spread broken into three sections.  Wolverine and Cyclops on the upper left corner are walking to the right side of the page, through the lobby.  We see Doop is happy to see Cyclops and waves big at him.  The two of them go down an elevator on the right side of the page and exit onto the furthest right panel so they just moved down one panel, like an actual elevator.  Now they are walking from the right side of the page to the left side of the page.  We see Krakoa still watching them.  Looks like they are walking pass the stables.  We see them entering the garden.  On the bottom left panel, we see them now in the garden.  Great use of the comic page, the pacing is wonderful and you get some great implied motion.  When people ask why I like Bachalo so much, it is because he really knows how to use the comic page and panel grids to tell a story.

Genesis catches Angel from hitting the ground.  Angel looks into Evan’s soul and sees Apocalypse but tells him that he sees a kind soul.

The AvX June 2012 issues including Avengers 27, New Avengers 27, Avengers Academy 31 & 32 (I need to buy 32 still), Wolverine and the X-Men 12, Uncanny X-Men 13 & 14 (I own both of these) and X-Men Legacy 268 & 269, which I also own both of those.  So during this, as Kitty and the Jean Grey School stayed out of the fights, I only followed Cyclops and Magik’s side.  It made the event affordable for me.

Wolverine tells Cyclops that he can’t help him and he is sticking with the Avengers.  Cyclops tells him that Wolverine isn’t the only X-Men at this school.

Wolverine X-Men 10 Kitty Magik fun

We get a fun panel of Emma and Kitty talking about having a future Quiz Bowl to compare teaching styles and progressive.  If only we got a baseball game out of this.

In the panel right next to this, Quentin Quire hits on Illyana.  She turns him down with a “I would tear you apart, little boy, like the bear does the baby goat.”  Which may be harsh but he knew his chances were low.  A real shame that Kitty and Illyana never speak to each other in this issue.  They really don’t speak again until Battle of the Atom, a year later.

Rachel tells Wolverine that some of them want a piece of the fight.  Wolverine states that is good as the avengers are going to need all the help they can get.  Rachel tells him that she is choosing Cyclops side.  Which is nice as those two characters have not spoken or been in the same issue in years.

Rachel, and this is the only issue that addresses this, maddenly enough, Rachel states that she hosted the Phoenix Force for years and never had a problem.  Which Marvel completely forgot about that as they only wanted to talk about how the Phoenix is never been a real force for good.  This is just another example in a long history of Marvel forgetting about Excalibur completely.

Iceman states that Cyclops as saved his life more than anyone else has ever had and feels loyal to him.

Angel tells everyone that he is not a real angel as he just liked to a friend so now he is ready to admit that he is a human and ready to fight the Avengers.

Oya asks Wolverine if Hope is okay.  He tells her that it is too early to tell.  Oya states Hope is her best friend, and starting with Schism they haven’t been seen to speak to each other in years.

Issue ends with the Death Commandos who only mission is to kill the Phoenix.

This issue’s title is Avengers vs. X-Men … Vs. X-Men and there probably isn’t a better way to wording it so good job.

Uncanny X-Men Volume Three Issue 22

Writer Brian Michael Bendis

Penciler Chris Bachalo

Inkers Tim Townsend, Marc Deering, Mark Irwin, Jaime Mendoza, Victor Olazaba & Al Vey

Colorists Chris Bachalo & Jose Villarrubia

Letterer VC’s Joe Caramagna

The Hidden New Xavier School.  Emma and the students are watching a mysterious plane about to land.  Emma tells the Cuckoos that they should diamond up.  Which I like that that power is being remembered.  Did I enjoy Phoenix : Warsong and like the reveal that the Cuckoos were five of possibly millions of clones of Emma Frost?  No, no I did not.  But I like how Bendis knows that the Cuckoos have that power, though it is never used, and it was a nice touch.

In the plane, is Magneto and real Dazzler.  Poor Dazzler, Magneto didn’t stop anywhere to get her a proper outfit so she is still in her hospital gown.

I like how Dazzler wants a Walkman, she needs something with noise so she can power up.  Also, that her insticts is to ask for a Walkman and not an iPod.  Are iPods even a thing anymore or do people just listen to music on their tablets?  Instead of listening to music on a mp3 player, I just pull up the music video on YouTube via the KindleFire and that’s how I listen to music these days.  Plus, my mp3 player does not work.  Or I listen to music on my new fancy phone.

When I worked at Hastings, we could not sell mp3 players or iPods but they were also being still priced at a hundred dollars or so which seems silly now that phones play music and are still phones.

Westchester, New York.  Now.  Hijack steals a car and takes off.  I like the small talk from the locals, as they know that the X-Men live in their city.

Jean Grey School.  Maria Hill is losing even more control of the situation as multiple Hellicarriers are laying waste to the school.  She starts calling for the Avengers to assist.  She informs the White House of the situation as well.  Like either are going to do anything for the X-Men.

The art on this page of all of the characters trying to do anything and the bombs falling, it is chaotic like a real battlefield.

Beast is in his lab and he for sure knows who is behind the attack.

Hill asks Dazzlique to help out and Mystique just walks away.  Without missing a beat, Hill gives the order that if anyone sees Dazzler, to shoot her on sight.  Seems a bit extreme to me.

The MysteriX is ready for the final bravo and presses a button.  Now the SHIELD created Sentinels and their nuclear bombs are deployed.

Which I can’t believe even after the X-Men handily defeated the SHIELD Sentinels during Battle of the Atom, that SHIELD didn’t decommission these killer robots as all their creation accomplish was to annoy Cyclops and make him target SHIELD in the first place.  Cyclops is not a man one wants to make an enemy of.

Right when things look like they couldn’t get worst, all of the Sentinels and the attacks from the Hellicarriers stop.  MysteriX is shocked by this.

The best part of it is the interaction from Hill and the crew that is left on the Hellicarrier.  A bit of a comedy routine with the one blonde saying, “something has taken control over the Hellicarrier from the thing that took the Hellicarriers.”  Which then Hill responds with another way of phasing it.  “You mean that who took over the Hellicarrier has now lost control over the Hellicarriers.”  Its pretty funny.

Uncanny X-Men 22 Comedy Gold

Cyclops wakes up and wants to start taking control over the situation.  Beast tells him that Cyclops needs to confront the actual threat and not the noise outside.  Magik is ready for the fight.

Uncanny X-Men V3 22 Magik wants answers

I like how instantly Cyclops recognizes that his former student, Hijack, is the one who is saving the day.  In this technologically advanced world, he really is one of the strongest mutants now.

Hijack gets a great line about how he was hoping to enroll into this school.  He hopes saving the day gets him a scholarship.

Beast explains to Cyclops that the reason his powers don’t work as well anymore is that he has Nanotech Sentinels in his bloodstream.  Which explains that little subplot from the first issue.  Though how those nanoSentinels got in their bloodstreams, I bet, is never explained.  It doesn’t take much to just assume that they breathed it in at one point and that’s how it happened.  Though how Magneto’s powers were affected by them, is beyond me.  Wouldn’t he have noticed foreign metal in his body?

Beast also tells Cyclops that the side effect to getting rid of the nanoSentinels is some diarrhea.  ha cha cha

On Cyclops’ order, Magik goes to the New Xavier School – picks up Emma, Magneto and the gang and brings them back to the Jean Grey School.  I like how Magneto says “I shall come with you” and Emma’s response is “yes, you shall.”  Which feels like a real thing someone would say after hearing the word, shall, in this modern time.  I do like how Magneto still uses the word, shall.

Magik doesn’t get time to ask why Dazzler is there and in a night gown but there are bigger issues at the moment.

Once back at the Jean Grey School – Magik next teleports herself, Beast and Cyclops to the location of MysteriX.  The villain of the day starts talking and Cyclops optic blasts him.

I like how Beast, being likeable for the first time in possibly half a decade, comments on the fact that Cyclops was right.  A Beast was responsible for fouling up everything, but it wasn’t him, but Dark Beast.

I also like Cyclops’ little joke / comment about how there are far too many alternate versions of themselves running about the place.

Another fun moment, I’m now realizing how much I liked this issue, is that Cyclops calls him “Dark Beast from the Age of Apocalypse” as I do wonder how the characters themselves refer to things that we ourselves in RL call them.  Like, do the New Mutants really call themselves that?  They do from time to time.  Did the X-Treme X-Men call themselves by that name?  Do the mutants even refer to that timeline as the Age of Apocalypse timeline?  Now that several of them have gone back to it and have encounter people from there, we know that they do now.

Beast reveals that Dark Beast is dying, from all of the experiments he has performed onto himself.  Which the last time I saw him, was during the Frozen storyline towards the end of Astonishing X-Men – also called the Dark Iceman Saga, to some.  He was funny there.

Of course, Dark Beast had a plan in case he was defeated and there is a bomb set to explode in 18 seconds.  Magik teleports Hijack there and he is able to turn off the bomb.  He has evolve from having to say actual commands like, stop.  He can now just point at things and get them to do what he wants.

Back at the Jean Grey School, we start wrapping up the issue.  Hill starts shouting that there will be an investigation regarding how Dark Beast was able to take over the Hellicarriers.  Hill shouts that they are going to decommission the Hellicarrier program after this.  Which should have happened years ago with how often those things crash into the ground.

Also, she tries to blame Cyclops and he quickly turns it onto her and how if it wasn’t for her bombs and Sentinels and floating death machines, none of today’s actions could have happened.

Hill then sees Dazzler and wants her arrested.  Magneto has to inform Hill of how on stop of everything else today, that Mystique has infiltrated SHIELD and has been posing as Dazzler since day five.  Dazzler shouts at Hill that she was abducted on the Hellicarrier.

Hill refers to Dazzler as an Agent of SHIELD and Dazzler tells her that joining the organization was a huge mistake as she is an X-Man first and quits.

Next issue, the Uncanny X-Men tie in to Original Sin with the Last Will and Testament of Charles Xavier.

Big Brother 16 : Sunday – August 31, 2014

Who won HoH?  Who is nominated?

The HoH competition isn’t an endurance challenge, it is just a prolonged battle.

Nicole has to win HoH, she’s the main target.

I never understood why they never just sit on their butt for the down slope.

Also, why not put some of the liquid in your mouth, adding that much more to the end pot.

Any other season, whoever went for the side cash would be the target for the week.  That won’t happen this year with Derrick running the house.

Two hour mark, that has to be exhausting.

Feel bad for those who don’t win, but got close.  All that work for nothing.

Another strategy, fill the cup, then slide the cup down the slope.

Chenbot is going to be on Letterman this week.  When the boss’ wife wants to be a guest on your show, she’s going to be on your show.  Deal with it.

Nicole looks cute in that blue tank top in the diary room.

Derrick secured the five thousand dollars and the five thousand hollas.

Derrick just sits out for the rest of the challenge, that would have gotten him some looks, any other year.  There is no way for him to win it, but at least try to compete.  Victoria might as well sit out at this point, as well.

Caleb won and is now the Head of Household.

Frankie and Nicole hug Caleb, in the most awkward way.

Is that Jalapeno Burger from McDonald’s, any good?  Priced right at two dollars, but I feel like it is way to many jalapenos.

Twenty minutes of the program dedicated to the HoH comp, something the die hards would have known about the next day.

Everybody is exhausted after the comp.

Team America should be over now.  Frankie telling America he doesn’t care about us.

Caleb really hurt his knee, he’s all banaged up.

Does Big Brother have casual fans?

I love my wife’s laugh, but I can imagine it would get tiring after a while in the house.  I don’t know, I’m drawn to it.

Is the boyfriend in the Wendy’s Gouda Chicken sandwich commercial the same guy from the value Streak Burger commercial?

I like how the hollas are a constant reminder that Derrick has real money won already in the game.

Derrick volunteers to be a Have Not, as he knows they know he is cash rich.  Nicole is picked to be the other Have Not.

Nominations – Nicole & Christine

Here’s hoping Nicole wins PoV!

. . .

Happy Labor Day, ya’ll!  Be careful out there!

Men Without Fear – Frank Miller

Thanks to DareDevilDocumentary for hosting the video!

One of the two great things to come out of the 2003 Daredevil film (well, three if you want to count Ben Affleck eventually marrying Jennifer Garner) was the Daredevil Director’s Cut DVD (which is amazing) and the superb documentary.

They interview – Stan Lee, John Romita, Gene Colan, Frank Miller, John Romita Jr., Joe Quesada, David Mack, Brain Michael Bendis (amazed he doesn’t have a longer segment), and Kevin Smith.

I wish all superhero films eventful DVDs came with a documentary or at least a comic book featurette.  If I had my way, there would be an entire industry of Comic Book Documentaries.  Sort of like E!’s True Hollywood Story but with comics.

I’ve seen these interviews more than I’ve seen the film itself.  I’ve also seen the Director’s Cut more than the film.  I sort of feel bad because instead of the six Jennifer Garner / Elektra scenes, we are given extended other scenes or Murdock in court with Coolio.

This was my first time seeing Frank Miller and hearing him speak.  I really like how everyone after Miller holds him to such height of respect.  He may not have created Daredevil but Frank Miller defnintely put his stamp on the character and it is a shadow that neither will pass.

Thus, we end Frank Miller Month here at S&FwM!  One more Event Month (it is barely that) in November and we don’t have another one until February’s annual Lockheed month.

Get Excited!

Uncanny X-Cast Episode 159

So Many Bumpers –

http://www.uncannyxcast.com/main/2014/8/28/episode-159-so-many-bumpers.html

Brian and Rob aired my second voicemail on the show!  I’m just accepted that my voice is super annoying to me and am now going on the road with it!

My voice mail and the discussion that follows is from 31:30 to 33:34.

I knew they were not teachers but were support staff of a sort, which is what I was when I worked at NAU-Yuma.

Such a good episode!
