She was Kitty’s court ordered thearpist in Chicago.  Her first appearance is in Mekanix issue one.

She only has ten appearances :

Mekanix 1
Mekanix 2
Mekanix 3
Mekanix 4
Mekanix 5
Mekanix 6X-Treme X-Men 25
Uncanny X-Men 470
Uncanny X-Men 471
Uncanny X-Men 472

I own all but issue 472 which has been on my Wistlist, probably since June 2006.

Not too bad for a Chris Claremont creation – he’s been the only writer to use her.  She’s lasted from December 2002 to June 2006.

One of these days I will own Uncanny X-Men 472.  I count her, along with Khaos, as one of those characters that I’m buying every appearance of, as I’ve already got the majority of them.

She’s been part of four storylines –

Mekanix
God Loves, Man Kills IIWand’ring Star
First Foursaken

She’s been drawn by :

Juan Bobillo
Igor Kordey
Billy Tan
Chris Bachalo

Not to bad, at all.

Big Brother 18 : Episode 3 – June 26, 2016

Posted by John Klein III on June 27, 2016
Posted in: Reality Television, Websites. Tagged: BB18, Big Brother. Leave a comment

This episode came on at 11:15pm so I’m hoping I can do Sunday and Wednesday episodes the next day.  I can stay up to a tad past midnight and still get my day job complete.

Tonight, a brand new competition will change the game once again.  A new twist is revealed (probably the game itself).

Recap : Glenn went home and Jozea (target) & Paulie (pawn) were nominated by Nicole, the Vet and leader of the Freakazoids.

Nicole called the Vets, returnees, which is the worst term for them.

Nicole has a plan to confront Jozea, if he were to come talk to her.  Da’vonne encourages but as soon as he climbs the stairs, Nicole gets scared.  Nicole isn’t a KisserButter either, oh Nicole.  She gets so nervous and just says words – I totally get that.

Nicole gathers the house to go over the new competition.  If you don’t win it, you can end up as BB Road Kill.  A RV will drive up and everyone competes in a competition, in secret.  The secret winner gets to nominate a third person!  I bet it doesn’t last all season but that sounds interesting.

Jozea wants the noobies to nominate Frank, if one of them wins it.

Da’Vonne calls them, returners, as well, it isn’t great.  It feels like a word that you have to think about before you say it.

Da’Vonne and Zakiyah talk about how two black women (chocolate drops) have never been on the show at the same time before.  Which is insane to me!  My wife just told me that Da’Vonne told the live feeders that she hates being called “Mamma Da” which is crazy to me, as she calls herself that in DR – ALL THE TIME!!!

Michelle wants to be with the Vets, which makes sense.  Though it might end up that everyone saw BB16 and know that vets go far in this scenario.

So now we have an alliance of Eight –

Nicole – Da’Vonne – Frank – James (Vets
Corey – Michelle – Zakiyah – Tiffany

8Pack is their name!

I thought Paulie was part of this group, I guess he’s the bottom of this group or part of a separate side Vet alliance.

BBRoadKill

Nicole is from Michigan, so she feels comfortable in RVs.

Production got them in their swimsuits, again.  They have to take off their clothes, down to their swimsuits, but they have to keep three buttons pressed at all times.  If not, the timer speeds way up.

Will this be the same comp every time?  Seems suspicious Production.  Very suspicious.  I can’t find any websites that really have screen caps.

Paulie seems like he has done this before.  4:10

They all got the same swimsuits.

James is too short for this comp.

Zakiyah hit the buzzer but she was wearing her socks still.

Paul took down one of the pictures.  The winner can reveal if they won, if they wanted too.

The winner was . . . Frank at 2.37.881 !  Impressive for the big guy.

Frank is right, he was either nominated or was nominating throughout BB14.  Frank tells James.

Jozea suspects Paulie got it, for no reason.  Frank lies to the noobies.  Jozea is good at reading faces.  That Frank, is a good actor.  James tells Da’Vonne and Zakiyah.  Frank and James do a weird but fun dance.

Meanwhile, Natalie wants an all girl alliance – and starts with Bridgette and Bronte.  This has never happened on Big Brother, it came close but it falls apart in either hours or days.  They are all about team names here.  The Spy Girls – Natalie is Flirty Spy, Bronte Wifey Spy and Bridgette is Spunky Spy. It is all about branding.  They did all of this in front of Tiffany, who isn’t happy that she’s left out.  They probably didn’t want CryBabySpy in their midst.   Three gals could probably work, I thought Natalie was going to get like all of the gals together, smaller is better.  Not every time but this time it works.

Frank wants to nominate Bridgette.

The Mystery Punishment!  Frank, Michelle, Bridgette and Paulie.  Category4.  They have to wear pixel outfits.  I thought they were going to be funny images, on the edit but they look the same as they do on the live feeds.  Bronte likes seeing that much of Paulie’s skin.  Corey is glad that Paulie and Frank work out, as they have good bodies.  Poor Michelle, she has a sunburn and other issues.

Road Kill Ceremony!  The third nominee is . . . Paul!  He joins Paulie and Jozea.  Should make Power of Veto pretty interesting.

Jozea thinks the house loves him, he’s as wrong as wrong gets.

Another good episode!

Hey, Tumblr user  – bigbrothertv – has the title sequence gifs up.

I’ll post these as the season goes on.

Here is Nicole’s title sequence image –

BB18 BigBrotherTV Title Sequence Nicole

along with Victor.

My goal, with this season, is to make the images make sense with either who is HoH or who is nominated or some third option.

Extraordinary X-Men 3

Extraordinary X-Men 3

Writer Jeff Lemire

Penciler Humberto Ramos

Inker Victor Olazaba

Colorist Edgar Delgado

Letterer VC’s Joe Caramagna

I had to add Clay Mann’s variant to my Wishlist.

Magik doesn’t appear in this issue, hopefully the last time that happens – but she’s mentioned twice.

Neepawwa, Monitoba, Canada.  Jean sees the sad trailer that Old Man Logan has been living in.  They both share their mutual awkward timelineness.  She’s from the past, he’s from the future – she’s supposed to be from the real past and he’s from a future that isn’t this current universe’s future.  They know this as Wolverine didn’t die via Professor Cornelius’s plotting.

Extraordinary X-Men 3 Magik Mention 1

X-Haven, Limbo.  Iceman really wants Magik to come back, as they are not doing well against the demons.  Why the demons are not just listening to Illyana’s demand to just hang back, I’m not sure.  Maybe they know she is missing, only because of the X-Men.

Storm checks in with Forge, Illyana’s radio silence hasn’t broken yet.  Storm really should have sent a B-Team, at the end of this issue.  She’s the leader of the X-Men, by default instead of earning her current position.  I do like how no one needs Colossus.

Storm wants the backup security system to go online but Forge believes it is a week out still.  Forge is going to try to get it online, now.  He can’t work miracles as they are in hell.  Cebebra corrects him, the dumb robot that she is – and states that Limbo isn’t Hell, it is a different realm.  Forge sends her to die the demons, and possibly, be destroyed out there.

Anole and Glob Herman are trying their best against demons.  Iceman tells them to chill out, and is disappointed that no one laughed.  It isn’t funny and Iceman is the worst.

Iceman, has gone back to what Jason Aaron tried to established in the original Wolverine and the X-Men series.  He has been working on a Cold Locker, an Iceman army.  He has to sit and concentrate – to control them – so he’s still working on that aspect.

Canada.  Jean confirms that Cyclops is dead, this is the first that Old Man Logan has heard of the news.  Sounds like the whole Terrigen Mist business is new to him, as well.  We learned that Cyclops died, during a fight with the Inhumans.  She keeps the bad news coming with how the mists have sterilized mutants.

Old Man Logan doesn’t want to rejoin the X-Men, as he is afraid of his future coming true.  Jean is so horrible, that’ she’s cool that Old Man Logan killed all of the X-Men.  Jean forces more future memories out of Old Man Logan.  She sees that the Hulk’s grandchildren killed Old Man Logan’s family.  She seems more upset about the villains winning and his family being slaughtered – instead of the man before her, killing all of her friends and colleagues.

I like how Old Man Logan doesn’t see this as a new start – he is still haunted by his past and what Mysterio tricked him into doing.

Limbo.  The demons are clearly winning.  Forge’s security system is a mere shield.  Iceman is running out of resources.

Storm calls Anole and Glob, X-Men, and this motivates them to fight harder.

Extraordinary X-Men 3 Magik Mention by Cerebra

Iceman needs a second to recharge, which sickens Storm.

Cerebra, scoring points with me – is concern that Ms. Rasputin may not be doing well.

Sapna, from the first issue, is protecting her family.  Sapna, apparently, can speak and control the demons.  This comes as a surprise to her.

Canada.  The two time-displaced mutants, talk about destiny – which is pretty nice.  Jean hadn’t thought about destinies.  Old Man Logan worries about killing the X-Men, like how she should be worried about how she should be starting to die and be reborn – in a constant cycle.  This angers Jean, as she is going to make sure she never dies, she is going to break the cycle.

Jean promises to watch over Old Man Logan – to make sure he doesn’t kill any of the X-Men.  Since this is Jean, Old Man Logan can’t deny what she wants.  She knows where the X-Men are, and calls them to get them to pick the two up.

Extraordinary X-Men 3 Magik Mention 2

Sapna is doing a great job of calming the demons.  Iceman wonders if this is why Illyana sought her out.  Glob saves Iceman, as he was distracted.  Glob is all sorts of motivated, now that Storm considers him an X-Man.

Storm has most of the refugees inside the school but Forge hasn’t raised the shields yet.  A demon knocks Storm down and the ghost of Xavier gets her to stand back on her feet.  With a giant lightning bolt, the demons stand back.  Storm gets to say the classic “to me, my X-Men” which must feel great – every single time.

Storm tries to motivate Forge, but he isn’t the mutant inventor that his reputation would have everyone believe.  Forge tries to trick her into remembering the good old days.  Which I imagine he thinks about, a bunch – when Storm and him were lovers.  Though, wasn’t that just for a handful of issues?  It wasn’t like a multi-years relationship.

Jean calls into Forge, and he knows how much Storm needs Jean and Old Man Logan – so he sends Cerebra to gather them.  Cerebra teleports to Canada, and back to Limbo – in no time at all.

Extraordinary X-Men 3 These are the X-Men minus Magik and Nightcrawler

Great last page – these are the X-Men!  (minus Magik, Nightcrawler and Colossus – but add Supna).  Even Anole and Glob made the group shot.  That is a pretty great mixture of teams and classes.

I can’t wait for the official first group shot of everyone together!

Next issue has the team, shown as a reflection in Mister Sinister’s head gem thing.

Big Brother 18 : Episode 2 – June 23, 2016

Posted by John Klein III on June 25, 2016
Posted in: Reality Television. Tagged: BB18, Big Brother. Leave a comment

Looks like my posting schedule is the worst case scenario – Wednesday episode on Friday, Thursday on Saturday and probably Sunday on Tuesday.  I’ll be behind but I do feel like I go more in depth than the sites that I follow.

One team, Freakazoid, has to compete against each other.  The loser goes home, the remaining three has to decide which of them will be the first HoH of the season as well as nominate the first two houseguests.

The Freakazoids are – Nicole, Tiffany, Corey and Glenn.

New theme sequence!

Natalie’s is pretty great, most of the ladies good ones, actually.

Tiffany is crying, so typical of Vanessa’s sister.  Da’Vonne is going to work her magic, as she already knows she’s Vanessa’s sister.  Gosh, they got the same cry face.  Oooof, I want her gone.

Poor Nicole, they couldn’t get a more form fitting bikini for her?  They knew she’ll be in the house for a month or two.

Nicole has the same thought and forms an alliance with Corey.

The Comp!  Victor, the winner of the first comp, is the host.

They have to lay coconuts down and balance on their island, winners are the first three who can lift their flag after spelling SOS.  Loser goes home, hopefully Tiffany can’t figure it out.  She can’t even.  I predict it is Glenn going home, as I’m sure the houseguests are thinking that too.  They are hoping Nicole does but I don’t see it happening.

Nicole is the first to get her flag!  Two to go!

Shoot, Tiffany is safe too.  Down between Glenn and Corey.  Looks like both boyz lifted the flag at the same time.  Production decides it is . . . Corey!  So I can’t complain.  Was there not a better angle for Corey lifting his flag?

They are all three, so they are safe from being nominated from each other, which is an odd comment from Tiffany.  So she was thinking of nominating the two of them.  Nicole is trying to look not too eager.  Nicole is the first HoH! So all the Vets should be safe this week.

Corey has to defend himself against Paul, to explain why he allowed a Vet to be HoH.  Bridgette isn’t happy either.

Glenn is gone and I doubt anyone will remember him.

Nicole is hanging out with Paulie and James.  Nicole hasn’t forgotten that Cody voted her out of the house, twice!  Makes sense for the Vets to bring in both Tiffany and Paulie.

Victor tries to figure out Nicole’s game, he has some advice.  So awkward watching these two talk and play with their own hair.  Victor does throw Jozea under the bus, like an amateur.

James interrupts Nicole’s shower, claiming to be Victor.  Oh James.

The noobies experience Slop for the first time.  It is suppose to be like a bad oatmeal or those fitness protein mush.  The Half Not room has bumper cars for beds and flashing lights that don’t seem to turn off.  Not the worst thing.  Jozea doesn’t impress Da’Vonne much, as if she was Shania Twain.

Da’Vonne recommends Jozea to Nicole, who is all for it.

Nicole tells Corey about her pecking order – the Vets and her team.

Paulie looks pretty comfortable in the Vets alliance.  He’s all for putting up Jozea.  Paulie is okay with himself being nominated, as he’s an idiot – pawns go home all the time in Big Brother!

Nominations!  Looks like they are keeping the keys in the block gimmick.  It is a faster process.  Nicole has nominated – Jozea and Paulie!

Not a bad episode.

Here is Nicole’s Pool Side Image –

BB18 Pool Nicole

Her title sequence is pretty cute too.  Hopefully someone makes those gifs like in previous seasons.

Big Brother 18 : Episode 1 – June 22, 2016

Posted by John Klein III on June 24, 2016
Posted in: Reality Television, Websites. Tagged: BB18, Big Brother. Leave a comment

Four stowaways secretly tucked away in the house will kick off the two-night premiere event!  Four competitions, three twists, two-nights and one Houseguests will be going home before the summer has barely even begun.

Sorry this didn’t go up yesterday, for us, the show didn’t come to CBS All Access until at least 12:15am and I couldn’t responsibility stay up.  Though I regretted it all day so I may just stay up super late and get me an ice coffee in the morning.

I haven’t gotten any spoilers so I’m excited to see how it all plays out.

But first! Oh Chenbot!

Oh sad that only 1/3 of the winners of this show are women  We see Natalie and Cody’s brother, Paulie.  I imagine Natalie is suppose to be the hot one.  I imagine Paulie got some tips from Derrick.  Bronte is the one that gave us the 1/3 stat, well, if she wins.  Bronte does seem like she’s well rounded.

Wave Two – Victor, gym manager.  I don’t remember any of these people’s names!  I should have reread my cast breakdown post before this episode.  He has quite the crowded home!  At least he’s use to that.  This episode is an hour and a half!  Zakiyah, preschool teacher.  Why show her shooting a gun and missing all three shots?  Corey, baseball coach.  He sleepwalks!

Wave Three – Glenn from the Bronx, the only married guy.  Bridgette, local girl and a nurse.  She likes to surf, but she isn’t shown actually surfs.  Jozea, Jersey Boy, and hair stylist.

Wave Four – Tiffany, also seen in a bikini – so was Bridgette.  Michelle is going to be a dietitian.  She’s going to have to calm down about the diet, I’ sure she will – once she’s in the home.  She has a lot of fears!  Paul, who I like already!  A bad arse version of last year’s Donnie.  Tiffany, Vanessa’s sister, hopefully this one isn’t as nuts.  Oh, I guess she is suppose to be the sexy one but I’m not going to be tricked.

The house is full of single folks!  Besides Tiffany, I really like this cast.  I still don’t have their names memorized, they keep cutting to people and I hesitate to type their names as I don’t know them and their names yet.

I like how some are having their keys facing the camera so I can get one more chance at their names.

Chenbot with the cast!  The first one in the house has never won the game.  That’s the only piece of trivia that I know about that.

First four  – Natalie, Victor, Michelle and Paul.  Michelle, no!  oh Natalie, might be too cute.  Michelle and Paul click.  Three of them all put their bags in the same room, Paul is the lone man out.  This is what I needed to get their names.  Paul got a pink bed.  Victor like Natalie.

Second four – Glenn, Zakiyah, Paulie and Bonte.

Final four – Michelle, Jozea, Tiffany and Corey is last.

Bonte recognizes the theme is international rooms.  Bonte needs to zen out.

Champagne!  What does Chenbot do during all of this?  They go around the room, introducing themselves.  Bronte lies about her job.  Never a good idea.  Does Paulie know Tiffany?  He doesn’t say who is brother is.  Victor needs to calm down about Natalie.  Natalie likes Corey, triangle!  Corey likes Tiffany, bromance!  Love triangle on all sides!  Paul likes Zakiyah.  Paul is 23, he seems older, it is the beard.  Glenn has a nine year old daughter and doesn’t tell about his police gig – which is smart.  He should pair with Paulie.  He’s 50.  Jozea likes to party.  Tiffany doesn’t tell about Vanessa, and Michelle instantly recognizes Vanessa qualities.

They count themselves and know a few are missing.

Up next, the four stowaways!  They are the first twist of the summer.  What did Chenbot do for like an hour, just watched them?  She didn’t listen as they suspect there are a few missing slots.  Julie reveals the first twist!

Oh man, Paulie and Corey sort of look alike!

They are not coaches, that’s a relief!

Nicole from BB16!  Her and Michelle need to stand next to each other!  She was on Cody’s season, she may get revenge on Paulie.  Michelle doesn’t see the similarities.

The house istantly wants her out.  She didn’t know there was three others.

James from BB17!  I’m all for his return!  He barely got to play.  One would think he would recognize Tiffany from any of the BB events in the past year.  Will he find Bridgette attractive?  James got a haircut.

Da’vonne from BB17 – I’m okay with her, she’s a bit much.

Frank fro BB14, who is clearly four years older!  He looks like BB8’s Zach now, Evil Dick’s dummy friend was the hint I needed to get the name from my wife.  He looks completely different, or I just straight forgot what he looked like.  I may have just recognized him from his hair, previously.

They got to get Da’vonne and Frank out of there!

Jozea, Paul and Zakiyah are not impress with the returnees.  The Vets instantly make an alliance – which they have to!

I need subtitles for the whispering.  We have the air conditioning running and it is so loud and the television is at 60 volume now.

They are definitely not being star struck like in BB13 when Jeff, Jordan, Rachel, Brendon, Evil Dick and Danielle.  But those were an impressive bunch.

Paulie comes out about how he’s BB16’s Corey’s brother.  Paul doesn’t respect the move.  Tiffany chooses not to out herself, Da’Vonne recognizes Vanessa’s sister.  Mamma Da, she was great in the Diary Room, I had forgotten that.

Twist Number Two!

I know Battle of the Blick isn’t returning, turns it wasn’t a fan favorite.

Shit, they brought back in teams concept (teams of four) from the also non-fan favorite BB9!  The vets have to be a team.  So they are sort of doing the coaches idea.

Teams go against how the game should be played.  This is like BB11 with the cliques too.

The First Comp!  They got them in bikinis and swim trunks already!

Teams are picked.

Each Vet is on a different team, and they get to pick so yeah, coaches.

TEAMS

Frank – Michelle – Paulie – Bridgette

Da’Vonne – Paul –  Zakiyah – Jozea

James – Natalie – Victor – Bronte

Nicole – Corey – Tiffany – Glenn

They chose like how they do it on MTV’s challenge, coach picks, they have to choose opposite gender.

Da’Vonne got her Pauls confused, so funny.

Reverse order, so Corey goes first.  Paulie gets to go first for the final round.

Paul got to take his entire alliance along!

“Ride the Rocket” Team Endurance Challenge!

First out – Notburgh – have nots – slop,

Second out – Mysterland – mystery punishment

Third out – cash city – 10,000 dollars divided four ways!

Final team – Safeville – safe from two weeks worth of eliminations!

Someone will be going home tonight!

Glenn can’t get on the rocket, oh no!

Natalie does look good, but almost everyone does!

First one out is Tiffany she’s the worst! Next is Glenn, more Nicole has the worst team.  She falls third.

Michelle and Bridgette are down.  Frank is too!  Paulie is the last of his team.

Da’Vonne & Zakiyah are both out!

Paul, Jozea is out.

Da’Vonne’s team are Have Nots!

James is out as is Natalie, also Bronte.

Paulie, Victor and Corey are last on the rockets.

Mystery Punishment – Cash – Safety / are the final cities.

Paulie, Team Frank gets a mystery punishment – to be revealed later.

Corey falls, so team Nicole gets cash!

Victor wins the first comp!  Team James is safe for two weeks!

How does HoH work this season?

Zakiyah wants old heads out, I love that phrase!

Da’Vonne tries to make an alliance with her team, they agree but not really.

Team James wants a sweet new name.  All the teams want names.  Category4 is Team Frank’s new team name.  Nicole wants a team name, Freakazoids, did Production put them up to it?  BigSister is Da’Vonne’s team name.  Team James can’t get it together.  TeamUnicorn, is what they settle on, it is pretty bad arse.  That Natalie, I can see what Victor sees in her.

Tiffany straight tells Michelle that she isn’t Vanessa’s sister, she needs to admit it once confronted.  She doesn’t want that coming out later.  She did admit it but Michelle is sworn to secrecy.

Chenbot is back.

Second competition.  Team Unicorn is safe.  The other three teams compete, in three rounds.  Round One winners join Team Unicorn in safety, as is Round Three.  My wife had to explain Round Three to me.

The team that loses, will compete against each other.  They will lose one person and one of the other three will become . . . Head of Household!

2nd Comp – Hit the Road

Production got them in swimsuits again!

Round One – Build a sandcastle pyramid.  Couldn’t hear the rest of the rules as I couldn’t spell “pyramid” my wife helped me.  Not a word I spell often, folks.

Chenbot butchering team names, they sounded cool earlier.

This does look overly hard.

Category4 wins it!  Frank, Bridgette, Paulie and Michele are all safe!

Round Two will be Big Sister v Freakazoids.  Da’Vonne and Nicole have breakdowns, Da’Vonne gets hit harder.

Round Two!

They have to build a sand castle using puzzle pieces.  Freakazoids don’t get it right, on their first try.  Big Sister doesn’t get it on their first try, either.  Big Sister has a faster correction time and win the second round!  Poor Team Nicole has to compete against each other.  I guess Glenn is going home.

We’ll have to find out on Thursday’s episode.

Sunday promises a second type of competition, which will be the replacement comp for Battle of the Block.

Not a bad first episode.

We’re hoping Thursday’s episode doesn’t wait until 11:15pm to upload.  I’m sure this was so late due to it being two hours long.

Buddy TV seems like they got the cast pool pictures!

All New X-Men V2 1

Letterer VC’s Cory Petit

I got this, just for Magik being on the cover.

All New X-Men V2 1 Recap

We start All New X-Men’s second era.  Secret Wars 2015 fixed alternate universes (except for Spider-Gwen’s) but not the time travel nonsense – so the Original Five X-Men, are still with us.  The four boys, are in this title.  They upgraded from Jean to All New Wolverine, X23.  Idie and Kid Apocalypse are also on this team.  The team, at this moment, are separated, having their own fun.

Vail, Colorado.  Wolverine (I’m just going to call her that) and Angel are enjoying skiing.  A sport, living here in Helena, Montana – I have no interest in.  Angel keeps saving her, even though she can take care of herself.  She annoys her but he’s trying to be a good boyfriend.  Not a respectful boyfriend but a good one.

Eastpoint, Florida.  Beast calls Angel.  Hank is watching Genesis (I really don’t like calling him – Kid Apocalypse – it is clunky and such a long name) rassle with an alligator.  There is going to be an upcoming Apocalypse crossover, so Genesis (real name, Evan) is most likely going to be important and soon.  Hank and Genesis are on there way to Austen, to pick up Bobby – then they will be heading to Warren and X23 in Veil.  Neither group has heard what Scott has been up too.

Of course, in eight months – they haven’t heard from him but now that we have caught up with them, they are going to hear from him.  Funny how that works.

Hank has set up a Cerebro, so that it isn’t dependent on a telepath to operate.  Once Scott blasts a dude, they should be able to find him.

Chicago, Illinois.  Scott has become quite the researcher.  There is a group of punk teenagers, known as – Ghosts of Cyclops – that are running around, making fools of themselves.  They arrive on scene, distract people and steal whatever they can carry – while wearing Cyclops’ mask – the one with the big red X where eyes should be.  Scott has track their movements and they should be arriving to the cafe that Scott is eating lunch at.

A cute blonde gal, Marla, starts talking to Scott.  She needs a picture with him, as her mother will freak out that she is in the city, by herself.  Everyone at the cafe gets hit by a truckload of water.  The six ghosts are all teenage mutants.  They are sloppy and untrained, which makes it easy for Scott to toss a few of them around.  He is so used to working within a group, that he leaves his blind side open and they press an attack.  While Scott is down, they run off.  The Ghosts of Cyclops, don’t have much experience with anyone standing up to them.

Scott picks up one of their wallets.  Marla runs over, super impressed with him.  She makes the fatal mistake of besmirching Cyclops’ name – going as far as to say why anyone would want to have Cyclops’ face (she means his mask) but this offends Scott.  He walks away like a sad sack.

Austin Texas.  Hank has caught up to Bobby, who is making a giant ice sculpture of the Thing.   Bobby hasn’t been laying low, he met a guy the other day and made an armadillo statue – the city loves Bobby.  How long can an ice sculpture last in Texas?  Austin is super mutant friendly, which more cities should be.

Hank and crew have been driving around in a trailer but it is bigger on the inside.

Algar University, Outside Chicago.  The ghosts recognize Scott, one doesn’t forget the dude who elbowed you in the face!  They follow him to the library.  Scott googles the kid’s name and the Internet provides him with everything.  Scott still can’t believe how far the world has come from the 60s (or 90s – whenever).

Mark Bagley, I should type, is amazing and I’m glad I’m able to read another issue of his again.

The guy, Austin Deprez, has found Scott.  Could we not get the city of Austin and a new character named, Austin, in the same issue?  Come on, Hopeless!  Deprez has the power to eject water from his throat – so that’s disgusting.  Deprez’s mutant name is, Thirst – it isn’t horrible.  The Ghosts have Scott on the ropes.  This old librarian tries to hit one of them with a chair.  Thirst is about to wail on him when Scott takes off his sweet red sunglasses.  With that, Scott blasts him some dudes!

This sets off the alarm for Hank’s Cerebro.  Hank opens the mini-fridge and the rumors are true – Hopeless has introduced a bamf, named Pickles – the team’s teleporter.

All of this blasting, and tired Scott and he collapses on the ground.  Sadly, he didn’t take out any of the ghosts, so they pick him up and leave.

Before they can get out of the library, the All New X-Men arrive!  Including Wolverine and Angel – who still has his Black Vortex upgraded powers.

Not really sure if I’ll be getting additional issues but this one was pretty good.

Idie did nothing this issue and I barely recognized her when she did talk.

Really, this is just a hardcover bound version of Marvel Age – Spider-Man Team-Up Issue Three.

Which in turn is based on the Marvel Team-Up Issue 135, hence the inspiration credit.  That issue was reprinted in Marvel Tales 245, though both are super affordable.

So I ordered this book for my son, Walker Dennis.  I thought it being close to twenty five dollars, that it would be made out of softer material – like a children’s book.  Instead it was a hardcover and direct copy of the comic I already own, minus the ads.  I had ordered it, so it was mine.  If he destroys it, at least we were able to read it to him as a bedtime story.

The book opens up with Peter Parker being bullied by Flash – a typical high school day for poor Peter.

I like the lesson from the narration caption – sometimes being a good guy means having to tolerate people.

He dons his Spider-Man costume.   A young girl steals another gal’s groceries and runs off.  Spider-Man gives chase, and everyone around thinks he is chasing her for her groceries.

She mumbles to herself that Callisto isn’t going to be happy, as she heads into the subway station.

Spider-Man follows her there, people still think he is harassing her.  A hand grabs her and Spider-Man doesn’t know what happened.

Turns out the Morlock, Sunder, grabbed her.  She is also the Morlock, Dreamer.  She casts a spell to make him think he is handsome and she runs off.

Next, we see Kitty Pryde in a modified version of her X-Men trainee uniform.  She is in the Danger Room, doing great, as Xavier, Storm and Wolverine watch.

Once the session is over, Xavier tells Kitty that it is bad enough that he is constantly putting her life in danger, he doesn’t want to deprive her of a proper childhood.  He has volunteered her babysitting services to the Michaels’ family.  If this is a friend of Xavier’s or an ad from Craigslist that Xavier found, who knows?  This family hasn’t been heard from since.

The Morlock Tunnels.  Callisto is walking around as Spider-Man crawls about.  She tells Ape and another Morlock to find Dreamer.  She instructs Sunder to take Leech and find Spider-Man.

Which they do!  Leech turns off Spider-Man’s powers and Sunder knocks him out.  I thought Leech’s power only worked on fellow mutants?

Kitty is babysitting the Michaels’ children.  They watch a scary movie involving mutants, but more like the monster type than the human type.

Kitty tells them to go to bed.  She reads them a story, but they are still afraid of mutants.  Kitty has to break it down for them that mutants are just people with extraordinary powers.

While reading to them, Dreamer comes crawling out of the ground – right outside the Michaels home.  Of course.

The Morlocks that are chasing Dreamer, see Kitty and the children.  Kitty can’t expose her secret so she lets them be taken.  Once she has a plan, she will risk anything to keep the children safe.

Sometime later, in the sewers.Dreamer shows that she can make cartoon monkeys.  Spider-Man is getting his powers back.  Dreamer and Kitty are going to help with the escape plan, as they both announce they are mutants.  The Michaels children are surprised, as they thought mutants were scary looking.

Shortly.  Kitty unlocks the door and Spider-Man takes it off its hinges – which alerts the rest of the Morlocks.  why she didn’t just walk them all outside, is beyond me.

Dreamer and the kids just motor off.  Leech arrives and shows Spider-Man and Kitty are shut down.  Dreamer and the kids come back, and the kids reveal they don’t find mutants scary anymore.  Issue ends with Calisto’s heart going three sizes bigger and everyone gets to go home.

A fun little story.

Guardians of the Galaxy V4 2

Writer Brian Michael Bendis

Artist Valerio Schiti

Color Artist Richard Isanove

Letterer VC’s Cory Petit

Cover by Art Adams & Jason Keith

I had to add the Kris Anka variant to my wishlist.

Issue opens with Hala’s reaction to having her home planet, Hala – the Kree’s homeworld.  I imagine she has another name, but it makes it a tad complicated that her name is the same name as her home planet.  I ‘get’ it is an homage but ooof, it isn’t great.  The Kree, it turns out, have been saving the galaxy for longer than anyone really knows.  I always think of the Kree as being slightly better than the Skrulls and slightly worst than the Shi’ar.  Also, that we wouldn’t have Inhumans, if it wasn’t for the Kree.

Hala would have been there, when the planet exploded (during Black Vortex) but the Supreme Intelligence sent her away, to the far reaches of the galaxy.  She is the last Accuser.

Guardians of the Galaxy V4 2 StarKitty 1

She isn’t happy that Spartax survived (single-handedly by Kitty Pryde) and her planet didn’t.  So she is now on Spartax, to make them pay.

Guardians of the Galaxy V4 2 StarKitty 2

StarPryde is the first Guardian to attempt to take Hala down.  Her phasing through Hala’s gun, didn’t short circuit it.

Groot is wounded, as he jumped in front of Quill – which I missed in the image before.  Quill reveals that the giant multi-page narration slash monologue, was spoken (thought?) in Kree-ian(?) so no one present knows Hala’s motivations.  Rocket understood everything and quickly states that she is mad that her homeworld was destroyed.

Drax yells a threat at Hala but Grimm has a fast way to say it . . .

Guardians of the Galaxy V4 2 StarKitty 3

Look how impress Pryde is with her new teammate!  She does look good in that outfit.

Guardians of the Galaxy V4 2 StarKitty 4

Hala isn’t getting up.

Grimm and Pryde have a great conversation about how it is okay for male hero characters to hit female villain characters, as someone has to stop the villain and genders shouldn’t come into the equation.  Pryde didn’t like that Grimm called Hala, a broad.  Which is one of my favorite words to describe a lady – as it sounds so old fashion but I have to stop using the term.  I don’t want to be sexist.

Rocket states that this reminds him of a dream he had, he’s having some deja vu.  Pryde didn’t realize he dreams or that raccoons dream.

The Royal Brigade shows up, which annoys Quill as his friend, Groot, took the hit that one of them should have taken for him.  Quill orders the brigade to aid to Groot and Gamora.  They are not sure if they can help Groot, he’s a tree – they don’t have tree doctors.

Quill wants Lady Hala locked up, the brigade tells him that they have the right to kill her on the spot.  I wonder if they actually could kill her?  Quill says no to that idea, he wants her to see the inside of a courtroom – which seems like an odd thing to want to see.  Are they going to go through the discovery process?  Then maybe mediation, after that?

Hala opens her eyes, so stuff is about to go down.

Guardians of the Galaxy V4 2 StarKitty 5

Drax picks up the weapon Hala was using, he would like to keep the blaster staff thingie.  Pryde tells him to put it down.  The weapon, naturally and of course, goes off in his hands – causing a gigantic explosion.

Guardians of the Galaxy V4 2 StarKitty 6

Pryde tries to phase through the lightning blasts but the energy waves still affect her.

The brigade, the idiots that they are, open fire on Drax – forgetting that he is a friend to their president.  He does drop the weapon.

Hala gets to her feet, holding the weapon now.

Guardians of the Galaxy V4 2 StarKitty 7

Hala causes a multi-block explosion – so now everyone is down.

I do like the technique of not understanding her words.

Guardians of the Galaxy V4 2 StarKitty 8

Hala walks over to Quill (nice that he landed near Pryde) and picks him up – by the neck!

Hala starts speaking English, as she reveals that she knows who he is.  She wants to destroy his world, before killing him.  Since he has two worlds, she’s going to destroy Spartax AND Earth!  Good luck with that second one, lady!

Quill finally wakes up, in a shuttle floating away from Spartax.

The issue ends with Spartax surrounded by a force field.  I imagine, she doesn’t win – or if she does, that the Guardians were also taken off planet.

Next issue’s cover promises Gamora v Drax, I suppose there can only be the one green team member – which is odd as they have been teammates for years now.  Is it racist to say that they are both green?  Should I be viewing them as just people?

Kitty Pryde and Wolverine 2

Writer Chris Claremont

Artist Allen Milgrom

Letterer Tom Orzechowski

Colorist Glynis Wein

Cover Date4d December 1984

We’re celebrating Father’s Day with Kitty Pryde’s more infamous parent – Carmen Pryde!

Kitty Pryde and Wolverine 2 Carmen Pryde 1

Issue opens with Kitty surprising her father, in Japan!  She just overheard that her father is in cahoots with the Yakuza.  It isn’t great, for either Pryde.

Kitty Pryde and Wolverine 2 Carmen Pryde 2

Mr. Shigematsu, the main boss, wants to know how Kitty got all the way up to his penthouse.  Shigematsu isn’t impress with the Prydes.  Shigematsu sends his goons after Kitty but she throws a chair at them.

Kitty Pryde and Wolverine 2 Carmen Pryde 3

Kitty jumps over the goons and throws herself at the old man, as she flees.

Carmen wants to explain, but it is exactly what it looks like.  He isn’t an informant for the United States government.

The old man wants Ogun to go after Kitty, Ogun is happy to do so, he has a whole plan.

Kitty Pryde and Wolverine 2 Carmen Pryde 4

Carmen hears Kitty’s name, in-between some Japanese.  He doesn’t want a guy like Ogun anywhere near his daughter.  He tries to stop Ogun but learns quickly how out of his league he is.

Poor Kitty, when we catch up to her, her entire world has spun upside down.  She’s crying, and lost in a foreign city.

There is an ad for the Saturday morning line up on CBS.  Richard Pryor is front and center, which caused me pause.  He’s promoting Pryor’s Place, a cartoon I never heard of.  Muppet Babies is the only cartoon I saw, of this batch.  Supercade (with Quebert, Space Ace, Kangaroo and Donkey Kong). Dungeon & Dragons, Pole Position and the Get Along Gang.

Kitty Pryde and Wolverine 2 Ogun 1

Ogun catches up with Kitty and knocks her out with some mouth gas.  We know Ogun is seriously messed up, as he clearly had that mask for a while.

We see Logan going through an airport metal detector.  We learn he has a special medical card that explains that he has metal on his bones.

Kitty wakes up, in a standing position under a spotlight.  The next several pages are pretty messed up as we see Ogun break Kitty down, both mentally and physically.

Kitty Pryde and Wolverine 2 Ogun 2

We’ve given Kitty’s inner-monolgue and it is terrifying!  She’s so hopeless during all of this.  Ogun cuts off her long hair and sheds her shirt.

Kitty puts on a brave face, and Ogun recognizes her strength.  He starts rebuilding her, with training and a new philosophy.  Kitty begins her ninja training, by her first ninja master.

NBC’s Saturday morning cartoons gets two pages – Snorks, Pink Panther and Sons, Smurfs, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Kidd Video, Mister T, Going Bananas, Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends; and One to Grow On will appear five times, wherein celebrities give advice.  I’m pretty sure I only saw Snorks, Smurfs and Alvin and the Chipmunks.

This entire sequence is pretty quick, in reality but it feels like forever as we see Kitty go from infant to pre-teen to her current older teenager.  She goes from a white outfit to a sweet black outfit and dons the Ogun mask to top the entire thing.

Tokyo.  Shigematsu is in his office, as someone is attempting to break in.  The goons open fire but Wolverine makes short work of them all.  The old man doesn’t know where Kitty is, so he isn’t very helpful to Wolverine.

The Bullpen Bulletins mentions the passing of Sol Brodsky.  The Hype Box promotes Iceman 1 and Beauty and the Beast 1.  Some of the issues coming out are –
New Mutants 22
Secret Wars 6
Iceman 1
Beauty and the Beast 1
Power Pack 6
Alpha Flight 17
Captain America 300
ROM Annual 3
X-Men 188
ROM 61
Avengers 250
Thor 350
Kitty Pryde and Wolverine 2
X-Men Annual 6
Doctor Who 3
Marvel Age 21

Ogun is called, that Wolverine is on his way.   He knows all about Logan, and knows the perfect way to hurt him.

Cut to Kitty, still wearing the mask, defeating a bunch of ninja goons.  Issue ends with Ogun telling Kitty to kill Wolverine, and she’s all for doing that.

We probably won’t review the third issue until next year, but maybe not.

Such a great series, loads happening and it is only the second issue.
