Who wins PoV? Will Bridgette or Frank come off the block?
Day 38, Nominations.
Frank talks Bridgette down as she’s crying – she was lied to. James could have gone just Frank and Victor and be somewhat honorable.
In the Storage Room – Da’vonne, Nicole, Zakiyah and Paul have a crazy dance!
Michelle and Zakiyah finally get some screen time! I guess Production read the message boards.
Frank talks to James about how Bridgette was emotionally hurt. Frank tries to play it cool with James.
Picking Players for Veto.
James – Michelle
Bridgette – Da’vonne
Frank – Nicole
Now that we are back to Proper Big Brother, each person is allowed to pick a name from the bag.
Veto Comp!
Otev! He is up there with Zing Bot! Production got everyone in bikinis! Otev is a DJ Frog. He’s foul mouth. Michelle gives him the proper respect. The answers are all previous competitions instead of houseguest names.
Round One – Answer is ToezArt Comp – James is out
Round Two – Answer is BusyDog Comp – Da’vonne is out
Round Three – Answer is Ride The Rocket Comp – Nicole is out
Round Four – Answer is Watch Your DubStep – Frank is out
Round Five – Answer is Take It Off – Michelle wins! Mich is a weird word to hear people shout, I didn’t figure it out until I was about to type it.
This is the comp that Frank went home on in BB14. Michelle cracked her face open! Frank should be going home as Michelle shouldn’t be using the Golden Power of Veto. History will be repeating itself. Production is going to have to shine the light on Michelle.
I suspect they hired a voice actor for Otev, as they seem to have stopped using past hosueguests.
19 Minutes Left. We know there is a fight left to be seen.
Michelle tells people she’s going to bed, Frank stops her to talk game. He tries to appeal to her Super Fan. If Frank will throw Bridgette under the bus, Michelle will use the Veto on Frank. She wants him to blow up his own game, essentially. Frank, like a fool, offers Michelle a Final Three deal – so she knows she’s the third wheel of that tricycle. In DR, she confesses she has a crush on Frank – so she sort of wants Bridgette gone. She admits it is extremely catty. Her finding Frank attractive hurts her in my eyes.
James and Da’vonne want Frank to stop talking to Michelle. Paul enters this room, and he wants to break up that conversation. Paul does step into the meeting, Frank kicks him out – but nicely. Zakiyah comes into this room. James comes in and Frank straightly tells them what he is scheming.
Paul is going to explode so Da’vonne and Paulie bring Paul up to James’ HoH room, while James isn’t in there. That wouldn’t fly during my HoH week.
Nicole and Corey look like they were kissing! The Pauls come in and stop them to talk game.
Meech, is how you shorten Michelle – when you type it.
Paul confronts Frank, wanting to know who goes up in his replacement. Paul doesn’t want to be the replacement. Frank handles it pretty well. Paul hasn’t thought this throw as his speech runs out of steam. He tries some stall tactics so he can gather his thoughts. Frank is confused by how this is continuing. Seems like an awkward time to cut to a commercial break. My wife tells me that this quasi-fight happened at 3am, which explains a lot.
10 Minutes Left. Seems like a lot of show left.
Michelle and James talk about if she should use the Veto. Natalie is there too. James wants to do a House Meeting – which never turns out well for the one who summons everyone. He goes through with it. Frank goes up to the HoH room, Bridgette isn’t sure if she wants to attend it. Frank wants to know what is happening. James doesn’t talk and Paul has to run it.
Frank wants to be safe, he wants the Veto to be used and have Da’vonne put in his place. Paulie wants Frank to calm down about these attempts. Frank appreciates Da’vonne and Paulie for having back bones. Seems super awkward.
Bridgette forces herself to talk to Michelle about using the Veto on her. This may be the first time they have really talked. This conversation needed like a few minutes of clips of the two of them non-talking. Frank and Michelle were close until Bridgette came along. This is super awkward, Bridgette totally called it! Michelle wants Bridgette gone, Michelle using the Veto on Frank would definitely send shock waves throughout the house! She or Frank will HAVE TO win HoH to really strike back.
It is 12:30am right now, and I’m getting sleepy. Production is definitely making up for not featuring Michelle before now. She doesn’t seem that bad, maybe she just doesn’t add anything new in her DRs.
Veto Ceremony.
My wife totally noticed that the Nominee Couch has been replaced with two uncomfortable chairs. Both of them sort of half-arse ask Michelle to use the vote on themselves. She respects James’ big move and respects Frank’s charisma and attempts to stay. She did not say she respects Bridgette. So she definitely is making an enemy from Bridgete.
Frank can only hope that there is a Coup d’Etat but I don’t see Production liking Frank like they do Jeff.
Who goes home, Frank or Bridgette? Also, will someone find the secret room? My wife tells me that everyone has so that could change everything. Paul found it first. Spoilers for the future, I guess.
For winning Veto, here is Michelle’s Title Sequence –
not sure if I will get another chance to segue into it.
I’ve heard this song only twice now, on the radio and I sort of love it. It is so unique on the Top 40 station, and I completely get why it isn’t played more often. I also like how someone took the time to write a song about Peter Pan, not for a related film but just because, that’s pretty awesome.
My wife, who is a big Peter Pan fan – not as big as she is of The Little Mermaid – she wasn’t as impress with this song but she’s coming along. Now I just want to see this song a few more times before it is off the airwaves.
Kurt Russell will be playing both Ego the Living Planet’s humanoid form and Star Lord’s father. Shame they have to not only not use J’Son but twist Ego too. Hopefully we get to see him as a planet at some point and we don’t repeat the whole Galactus cloud mistake. I’m sure either way, it will be amazing.
I like how Karen Gillan is coming back too! Sylvester Stallone has a role too, that I didn’t know! Which I feel is a common theme for the day as there were loads of reveals or confirmations that I had no idea about.
Thanks to Marvel Entertainment for hosting this video!
I’m two episodes into Sherlock, I’m watching it to get pumped for Doctor Strange. Pretty good thus far. I do like how it is only ten episodes.
I wish Rachel McAdams was Clea but that’s okay. This is the trailer I wanted, with proper Doctor Strange, who cares about the surgeon Strange? I like him dressed as Mordo so that would explain that guy’s outfit. Strange’s movie costume is awesome!
New Marvel Movie logo which I have below. Music by LOST’s Michael Giacchino. Chris Hardwick moderated the panel and I realize now that I have gone like two weeks without watching @Midnight. I’m not a huge fan of Hulu’s Watchlist redesign. Black Panther starts filming in January. Thor 3 is filming right now. Sounds like Benedict Cumbebatch had a Loki like entrance, which sounds amazing! Thor 3 takes place right after Civil War, so they address why Hulk and Thor were not present for it. Tom Holland showed up too! Mantis is going to be in Guardians 2, which explains her being in Avengers Alliance now. Looks like we get teen Groot in the film.
I can’t wait to see Brie Larson in the uniform! I’ve started following her on Twitter now too. I still only know her as Rachel from Community (4×8 / 5×6 / 5×9). She stole those episodes! I need to watch Room. I keep forgetting she was Envy Adams in Scott Pilgrim, I need to rewatch that film too. oh yeah, she was the hot girl in Spectacular Now, such a great film! I’ve been meaning to watch Trainwreck and Don Juan. Should I watch United States of Tara? I haven’t really enjoyed Toni Collette in the few things I’ve seen her in. oh and I should add Tanner Hall / Trouble with Bliss / Digging for Fire to the list too. I’m not sure about Greenberg.
Such a fun way to make the announcement too! Thanks to Flicks and the City for hosting this video!
Thanks to Marvel Entertainment for being so bold to host this video!
oh man, that looks sort of intense and crazed – which I’m all for! I wish we had cable so we can watch it or maybe by that point, Hulu would have a deal with FX so we can watch it.
Death of X is going to be a crossover and it is going to include two new series, the other one is below. This one is sort of in the same reign as Avengers v X-Men, so let’s hope Magik is in this. She isn’t on the cover, so that’s a shame.
Inhumans vs X-Men isn’t part of Death of X, it is its own crossover that takes place in the present day. Apparently an angry fan asked about the scabs being members of the Guardians, did the fan mean Pryde and Grimm? The crew should have mention the upcoming Grounded arc that appears to just be about the main Guardians, or Movie Guardians.
Thanks to Wonder Bros. Pictures for hosting this video.
We still need to watch Batman v Superman. I totally love that these trailers are being made for the public to enjoy too! This has a lot of Steve Hunter, right? Like, is he in this a whole lot? I do love them giving Wonder Woman her classic colors, that armor looks awesome! Gal Gadot is a very attractive woman, she looks timeless in this trailer. That DC logo looks even worst now that Marvel got a new one. That lasso is super golden too! She’s a total bad arse! I’m super pumped for this!
It still bugs me that the TV DCW universe is separate from the films, I’ll get over it but having two Barry Allens is not great. I do like Affleck and making him the lead of the film is the right direction. No Superman in this but I’ve seen him on a poster so he will be there. Cyborg looks pretty decent. I like Aquaman, that final joke didn’t need to be there. Affleck and Gadot have great chemistry.
Well I’m less excited about this as it is a digital comic and it ties in with Contest of Champions, a nice comic but you know, not part of the Death of X storyline or Inhumans v X-Men.
I predict they find a way to bring Ward back, as there must have been some sort of cloned DNA somewhere that Hydra found. Can’t believe this show is going to have Ghost Rider on it!?! Even if it is for a minute of screen time, that’s insane! I’m definitely done with the Inhumans so let’s start diving into the proper Marvel Universe. I bet Nicholas Cage would be available for voice over or an appearance, what is that guy up to these days anyways?
Thanks to ABC Television Network for hosting this!
Ghost Rider looks pretty great, I can only imagine he will look like that on the show, if not, better with more time given to the effect.
This has Dani Pudi, so I will give the first episode a try. Shame they couldn’t work in Chase Cameron as she was wasted on Supergirl. A comedy version of the DEA could work. Also Ron Funches seals the deal too, for me. A rather short panel but they did get to see the pilot so that would have been fun.
I like that Unworthy Thor is about Thor finding Ultimate Thor’s hammer, that sounds like a neat and safe way to remember the Ultimate Universe. I’m a nut for those “Kills / Destroys / Beats Up the Marvel Universe” and Squirrel Girl totally deserves to be added to that list. Once again, I’m all for Young Scott being a member of the Champions. If Jean joined, that would be all five of the original X-Men having been members of the Champions, as well. Let’s hope she doesn’t as we want that series to get to issue twelve, at least. I wonder which other characters would be taking a road trip with Hawkeye in Occupy Avengers? I do like a good road movie / comic. Oh wow, Winter Solider is still dealing with the aftereffects of Original Sin, in his new Thunderbolts series. That’s some baggage! Is it just me or would Doctor Doom never take on the name of another person? Infamous Doctor Doom would have been a great title! I doubt Iron Man ensures that it gets a certain number of readers. I wish we got the cast of characters in Sorcerers Supreme. I would have asked that question once the Q&A opened up.
I won’t post this one as it isn’t much more than a gif with audio. I’m excited about it getting a third season, we’re two deep into Season Two and liking it a bunch.
So great that Misty Knight is going to be part of the show! Rosario Dawson keeps being the connection that all of the Marvel Netflix shows have, which I like her, her character and the concept so I’m all for it. Sounds like she’ll be in either Iron Fist or Defenders too. I like how they describe each episode as “relentless” which the opposite of that is how I felt about Jessica Jones. We’ll watch an episode and maybe waited a week for the next one. Unlike Daredevil that we tried to get back to that show as soon as we were done catching up on our current shows. I wish I knew more about Cage, outside of Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and Avengers. I don’t really know him as a solo hero or his rogues gallery. I wonder if Colleen Wing will show up in this, that would be awesome get to the Daughters of the Dragon spin-off. Just Googling Colleen Wing (as I wasn’t sure of their duo name – I got it right) she’s suppose to be in Iron Fist so that’s awesome! They should get Iron Fist in the Cage show too! I did like that with Jessica Jones, not too much time was given to Cage but when he showed up, the show sort of stopped for him. He was the best part of that show. I wish there was a way to watch these panels, even without the graphics, as I would love that. Like, if SDCC could record all of these and then people had a chance to order like five or ten panels and they made the personalize DVD for $20, I would buy that,
The poster is the Iron First symbol / tattoo, and it looks great. Not something they could really screw up or could screw up spectacularly. I’m glad they went with the traditional look.
Really glad the X-Men were not forgotten! Death of X is going to be a miniseries. I’m not thrilled that it is being considered a crossover – that means it could be expensive! We’ll learn Cyclops and Emma’s fate – I’ve been missing Emma as she’s one of like five unaccounted for big names. Uncanny X-Men will have a story about the Hellfire Club – hopefully putting them back into the league of greatness that they started out from. Old Man Logan / All New Wolverine will be having their predicted crossover. OML hasn’t been all that bad, the two issues of it that I read. Extraordinary X-Men will be dealing with the fallout of their section of the Apocalypse Wars. Illyana and Sapna are going to have a storyline too, which I’m all for. Glad the X-Titles are not stopping for the flashback tale that is Death of X.
So irritating that Inhuman discussion comes up in a X-Men panel. Get your own panel, Inhumans! Alonso is tired of hearing all of the talk about the X-Men demise, but if he wanted it to stop, they could be doing more with the X-Franchise.
Sounds like the Original Five are not going back in time, any time soon. Bunn should get Rachel in Uncanny X-Men! I haven’t noticed that Havok and Polaris haven’t been seen. I would not be interested in an Iceman (either one) solo series. Unless Magik was in it, so it’ll have to be Proper Iceman.
Just like the original series, there will be delays that affect other series too. Civil War II 5 will be out late August instead of mid-August. That means other titles will be pushed back as well. None that I read so that’s okay but I have been reading the main title.
X23 is being mind controlled and killing fools. Sounds like the superhero community will have to go after her, just like they did with Wolverine in the original. Here is hoping that people remember Kitty played a decent part in that original story as has a closeness with X23. She could serve as the same role! Since X23 is being mind controlled, I wonder if people will be all over her dick like they were with Cyclops when he was mind controlled and not allowed to be forgotten about. Unlike all the times Wolverine was mind controlled, killed a slew of people and others are just cool with it. I bet it goes in that direction.
Victor returned last episode. Who wins HoH? Who is nominated?
Day 37, Victor came back.
hey Michelle’s DR was shared! Paul is happy to have an ally again but he remembers that friendship with Victor put a target on Paul’s back.
2 Hours before, they all agreed to get rid of whoever came back into the house.
Victor was told by both Bronte and Tiffany to trust Frank. Frank wasted no time trying to get Victor on his side.
James is nervous that Victor is back as Victor is a bit of a challenge beast.
Da’vonne, Nicole and James discuss if it is better to get Victor out again or finally get rid of Frank. Nicole, after this (from what the edit looks like) shared Da’vonne’s comment to Frank.
Paul and Paulie look too close to each other now.
Paul gets people ready for the HoH competition.
HoH After Party Theme.
The ball pits from Victor’s final competition have returned, even the wall is the same. “What Your Dub Step.”
Endurance Competition!
My wife informs me that the live feeders were pissed that this challenge wasn’t on the feeds as the feeds were in total black out to keep the Victor surprise a secret. I do like watching the endurance comps on the feeds. The only challenges we can watch.
My wife’s hawk like vision notices that the pictures Tiffany and Victor placed are still on the wall.
James is willing to accept some deals, minutes into the competition.
23 Minutes – Paul is out
One Hour, Seven Minutes. James announces he’s going to kiss Natalie tonight.
1 Hour, 19 Minutes. Nicole is out.
One Hour, Forty Minutes.
Zakiyah is out and Michelle at 1 hour, 49 minutes.
2 Hours 19 Minutes, Corey is out
2 Hours 42 Minutes, Victor is out. After James threw him a bottle, like an idiot! I’m surprised that Production let Frank get a bottle of water from Corey. Frank gave James the bottle then he tried to throw it to Victor.
2 Hours, 46 Minutes, Frank is out.
3 Hours, 22 Minutes.
Da’vonne, Natalie, James and Bridgette are still in it, as the sun comes up. They started late.
4 Hours, 4 Minutes – Natalie is out. Good hustle out there!
6 Hours – Paul is trying to sleep in the ball pit.
James really wants to win a challenge, finally.
Natalie is making a deal with James if he wins, she’ll kiss James.
Don’t make any deals, just out last two other fools.
Frank tries to make a deal with Da’vonne, she’s too far away for James and Bridgette to hear.
Frank tells Da’vonne that Nicole told him some game talk. Da’vonne is not keeping her side of the deal and not letting go. Nicole doesn’t know that her game just blew up.
They have a house discussion! Da’vonne reveals that Nicole told Frank a secret. Nicole denies it – which is WAY DUMB! Frank gets loud and Da’vonne says she never mention to Victor.
Paul wants people to throw it to James, I don’t know why Paul is losing his mind.
James won after Bridgette dropped and Da’vonne dropped their arms. So weird that we didn’t get the final time stamp.
#FirstKiss I do like James and Natalie together!
Nicole tries to hide the fact with Da’vonne. Da’vonne lies, as she doesn’t trust Nicole anymore.
Natalie hugs James big time!
Natalie and Bridgette are still Spy Girls. Dman Natalie’s breasts in that orange top!
Natalie made a deal with Bridgette, James supports it. Da’vonne talks to James, now he wants to put up Frank and Victor.
Victor talks to James and Natalie, they end the conversation with the Team Uniform music cue.
Does anyone have picture of Natalie in that orange top? She s insane in that top!
Paulie helps James make up his mind.
Who are not a pair? Michelle, Da’vonne and Paul? Victor now too.
My wife wants me to call this for her. Frank is literally Danielle-ing Bridgette right now. A move he learned from the master that is Dan from Big Brother 14.
James tells Frank that he won’t put him up next to Victor. What is James thinking?
Nominations.
James has nominated . . . Bridgette and Frank! James really should have been honest with Fran earlier. Natalie looks not pleased.
Natalie is safe this week!
Thanks to tumblr user, emilyjamerson, for that first image!
I’ve been holding off this post for a while but now that it is official, I’ll provide my commentary. Hastings Entertainment will cease to exist, come October 31, 2016.
I’ve worked for Hastings since 2010, mostly as a Lifestyles Associate. In Arizona, it was one of my favorite stores, even when Best Buy eventually came to Yuma.
Since moving to Montana, it has been a source of additional income as well as my main source for comics. Once Hastings leaves, there goes my source of comics. I don’t see it being very feasible to create a pull list with the Kelly Komix as Great Falls is a three hour round trip for me. Nice town but what, am I going to go there once a month for comics? I doubt it.
My plan is to do what I do now, which might show how crazy I am – unless other people do this and then I will be comforted by that fact.
I Google “Week 30 2016 Marvel Database” on Tuesday, write all of the titles down on my handy small notebook. Which is barely is big enough, per page, to list every new comic for the week, often I have to make a second column on the same page for two or three titles. Then I check on it every evening until I know which comics I need and which ones I don’t – which are most of them. But sometimes I’m caught by surprised by a mention or a flashback sequence.
I’ve pretty much given up going to comicbookdb and checking for appearances that way. I still use that site to catalogue my collection and maintain my wishlist, that will never change but I don’t go there for second opinions anymore. I also don’t seem to go to UncannyXMen.net as much as I use to either. Just changing my habits I guess.
Anyway, so I will create my To Buy list every week and then once I have $40 dollars worth of comics, I’ll go to Mile High Comics and play my order as it is free shipping once you get to $40. Ideally, by the time I get to $40, those first week of comics wouldn’t be considered new anymore and maybe I can get a percentage off with one of Mile High Comics’ many sales. But I’m fairly certain new comics are considered new for months.
I was tempted to go the DCBS route but since I haven’t sold comics to My Comic Shop in a year, I rather not risk buying comics I don’t need and add them to a box that I will never get around to selling. My goal is still to sell a piece of my collection with our tax money as shipping the 125 comics to Texas essentially eats half of the profit of selling the comics so it is expensive to do it that way.
So going through Colorado, that means I get the comics that I need for my collecting purposes. Ideally, you dear visitor, wouldn’t see the effects of this with the way I do new comic reviews every other day, and I’m still currently having to post comics I bought way back in January. Then again, I’m not buying as many comics as I use to so the day may come when I am more current than I’ll like to be. But don’t worry, I have plenty of back issues to get us through then. Especially the comics I got from two years ago from both Father’s Day and Christmas that I have reviewed but haven’t posted as many of those. So I have quite the backlog waiting to be published.
It’ll be nice if another comic store could open up, but without my sweet discount of a dollar per comic, that will hurt. I had to pay full price for comics in Missoula, Muse Comics, and for two comics, it was nearly ten dollars, which isn’t great. It is nice though that we don’t have a state tax but paying full price is crazy with comics.
Also, I’ll be out of a part time job. I’ve applied to both Target and Shopko and haven’t had much luck getting hired by them. Hastings has like thirty employees so that’s thirty people also looking for retail jobs. I won’t try Wal-Mart again as I still see that one horrible manager is still working there so I can’t work there again until she is gone. I’ll try to apply at Albertsons too, but it isn’t easy finding a place that will hire me with what I’m hoping to work as – like a Friday evening and Saturday morning person. Hastings, in a cost savings measure, has really cut back our hours. I went from working both of those shifts to maybe getting one of those, so I barely make $60 in two weeks, down from around $150 – which worked.
I also started working for a new law firm that I’m making a dollar less at. I was hoping the pay increase would be after six months but it is a wait of a year. So I’ve lost money there and then Hastings is going belly up so I lost money there too. That is the main reason we put up the Support link but I wasn’t going to count on anyone’s generosity from that. Thanks to those that did click on the link, that has been helpful!
I still have a few comics at Hastings I still need to buy – Civil War II 3 and Civil War II X-Men 2, Old Man Logan 8, Guardians of the Galaxy 10 and another one as I know the total is $12 and I am not slated to buy any from any that shipped on July 20th. So that’s a huge relief. I think that last one is Star Lord 8 but Hastings didn’t receive that issue but it is on my Wish List.
Speculation is that Hastings will probably cease carrying new inventory (as why keep bring in new product just to box it up?) so maybe this Mile High Comics plan will come into effect before October.
Typing about October, I saw that Marvel October comics are suppose to have X-Titles still, not just Death of X, so that’s good news but I haven’t seen the October Solicitations yet, probably won’t get those until next week once San Diego Comic Con is over.
So lots of questions still up in the air, too many questions. I was going to post something regarding the bankruptcy a few weeks ago but I was holding out hope that this wouldn’t be required. Now that we are here, it is a sad day.
Helena, Montana really needs Hastings. There isn’t really another place to buy new books. Target’s small section can’t compare, which is the same for new movies. Target and Wal-Mart are decent for new releases but they don’t get that many copies of each release and they don’t have the floor space for older films either.
I guess there is always Amazon which is what has been hurting the brick and mortar stores, not just Hastings but Best Buy & Barnes and Nobles have been hurting too. I’ve read that even electronic book sales are going down, so I guess people are not reading like they use to.
We have Amazon Prime now, but we don’t really take advantage of it like we should. Mostly we just stream films. I’m so out of practice of buying BluRays that I essentially only buy superhero films now. Once Walker Dennis starts to show real interest in feature length films, we’ll start buying those animated films but we have been able to skip out on those. We bought Inside Out but besides the opening scene, it didn’t hold his attention. I wish that film was more about the daughter with quick shots of what is in her head and not the full-on head adventure it became.
I’m really hoping to take advantage of another 3 for $10 used book sale as I missed the last one. I do love me some cookbooks (I do enjoy cooking Sunday dinners) and for $10, there are still quite a few cookbooks I would like to own that the store has. Especially for that price, even if the book only had like six recipes, it is worth throwing three dollars down for.
I imagine the video game sales won’t go into effect for a while but I’ve been wanting a few games for my dying XBox 360. Games such as – Red Dead Redemption, Arkham Origins, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Deadpool. Those games I’ve been wanting for years now but haven’t had the time to really play nor the $20 to buy each of them. I doubt there will be a sale for 3 for $10 but that would be amazing. I wouldn’t mind trying Fallout New Vegas (I’ve always been on a mind that Fallout 3 was and still is enough for me) and maybe that maybe LA Noir, I want to say there was another game I had my eye on but I can’t think of it.
For films, I want to say we have the ones that we want, not on BluRay so we might take advantage of those sales.
Then again, we probably won’t do any of that as the store closing couldn’t come at a worst time for us but I keep having these thoughts of amazing 75% off sales but by that point, corporate would have shut the store down or the only items would be less than stellar items. The sale to take advantage of would be the 25% off everything but who knows when that happens.
I predict the Helena store is closed by October, maybe even mid-September but I’m hoping we can stay open until the very end. Or at least until I get another retail job, for purely selfish reasons.
I know I’m not looking forward to having to essentially recite the article that I linked above. My plan is to have a copy of that article in my back pocket so that I can just cite it or lend it to people so they can read it themselves.
Four head-to-head battles lead to one previously evicted houseguest returning to the game.
The options are – Glenn, Jozea, Victor, Bronte and Tiffany. Not sure they are going to four comps with five people but whatever.
The Battle Back!
I’m only really going for Glenn or Bronte. I absolutely don’t want Tiffany back in – so I expect Production is going to make it easy on her.
Chenbot says they are making history with this competition, Big Brother History!
They are going to go in order, which makes sense.
Round One – Glenn v Jozea
The house guests don’t get to watch. Production gave them BattleBack shirts. The evictees (and Glenn) don’t know who to expect. Jozea is still claiming to be a messiah, so he is as dumb as ever.
They have to redo the cherry HoH comp, which is the competition right after Jozea left so neither one has experience with that. That’s pretty great.
Jozea keeps tripping, and he’s getting angry. Jozea outsmarts Glenn’s poison berry scheme and filling his ten and Jozea gets sweet revenge and drops all of Glenn’s cherries so Jozea is going to win this.
Round One Winner – Jozea!
Glenn wasted a month’s vacation, all in a private mansion. Hopefully he got a lot of reading done.
Round Two – Jozea v Victor
This comp looks new, tennis theme. I feel like these are different nights. I also suspect that Julie isn’t really present for these.
They have to throw a ball into a trampoline and knock each other’s faces, five times. My wife is saying this is similar to the Bridgette won, which I had to watch on the laptop one night and couldn’t really go back and forth with the post.
I don’t miss Jozea, at all. His DR sessions are getting a tad much. Victor gets the early lead. Then they are tied. Victor is up by one and has one to go. Victor does a decent Jozea impression.
Round Two Winner – Victor!
Round Three – Victor v Bronte
We were debating if the next one would be the HoH Quiz or a Veto repeat but it is a quiz. Doesn’t seem that fair. Bonte has another week’s worth of knowledge about the houseguests.
Unicorn v Unicorn. Everyone has a story besides Glenn and Tiffany doesn’t really have any connections with these two.
They have to review the houseguest fake travel photos. The houseguests are the ones still in the house, which is the reverse of the original competition. They are also not answering True or False questions, they have to match photos with the questions.
Victor completes his first but he has several wrong. Bronte is wrong about all but one of them. Victor tries again, looks like he only got one wrong but I’m not sure how that is possible. Shouldn’t he have two wrong? Bronte seems to have only one wrong too.
Round Three Winner – Victor!
Round Four – Victor v Tiffany
I’m hoping Victor can win this!
My wife just mention how she remembers getting tired of Victor’s “your boy” which he has now said three times since she made her comment.
This is moving fast!
Going to be a physical challenge so Victor has the edge.
They are surrounded by colorful ball pits, they have to find puzzle pieces to complete the puzzle. There are clues about the time schedule too.
Victor makes a comment that I suspect is revealing that these are not the same days. Plus, there is no way to reset the backyard that quickly. Victor does say he is ready, to Julie, so she was there for this one.
The band is the Whack Street Boys! So they have a puzzle and the clues are for the schedule.
Victor’s puzzle has to move up a row but he also hasn’t done the band part.
Round Four Winner and Battle Back Reentry – Victor! YES!
He’s better than Tiffany, that’s for sure.
My wife and I were talking about how if Victor didn’t win it, Tiffany’s returning story wouldn’t be that great. Victor at least has all but Glenn’s story to tell.
Tiffany told Victor that he should trust Frank, my wife caught that.
Only five minutes left, so Sunday is going to be quite the episode as this one is slated to end with Victor stepping in and reaction shots.
Julie gathers the houeguests. When did this happen. Zakiyah’s pants are so tight!
They have competed in 15 competitions. The house guests are not excited about a returning house guests. The house guests’ eyes get so wide with the naming of the options, as if they couldn’t believe those were the options.
The door bell rings . . . Victor is back in the house!
Victor is probably being voted right back out, unless he wins HoH. Paul is super excited, he has another friend in the hosue!
Julie mentions how there is a secret room in the house, just like in Big Brother 6 with the golden room.
I couldn’t find a picture of Zakiyah in sweats but here is an interesting gif.
Apparently on her birthday, Paulie gave her a lap dance.
Anyone know who the cover artist is? Seems like I’m the first to ask that question, online.
This is a pretty fun novel. It reads very much like a Star Trek novel, that happens to have the X-Men. The greatest of the X-Men, Shadowcat, is barely used. She appears in 26 of the 264 pages. In my younger days, I apparently kept track of them on an index card. Below, I’ve scanned all 26 pages so you can not only sample of the book but also enjoy the Shadowcat experience.
There are some fun moments such as Picard and Storm’s attraction to each other, Wolverine and Worf’s buddy romance. Angel being ripe jerk to the Enterprise crew. There is even a cameo by Lee, Kirby and Ditko – poor Lee.
The story of the book is that on Xhaldia, a new crop of people with powers start emerging and the planet doesn’t know what to do with them. Well, they do know to try to both encamp them and to fight and attempt to kill them.
Here are the pages that Kitty Pryde can be found on.

Big Brother 18 : Episode 14 – July 21, 2016
Will Da’vonne go home or will Tiffany finally go home? Let’s find out!
Paulie and Zakiyah’s showmance is not getting any television time, neither is Zakiyah.
Dman, they went home and interviewed both Cody and Vanessa. At least we’re getting it out of the way now. I just told my wife that I bet Vanessa is all proud of Tiffany and isn’t seeing any of her own mistakes in Tiffany’s game.
But First! Apparently Production doesn’t know who is going home – that’s pretty awesome! They must love that.
oh man, they show Tiffany talking about Da’vonne flipping her hair onto Tiffany. Are they going to show all of the racist comments that Tiffany made? My Tumblr really blew up over Tiffany’s comments. Da’vonne is going to try her best to not blow up. Paulie is ready to break the tie in Tiffany’s direction. He’s growing a beard too.
Natalie is trying to make slop for the first time. Natalie asks Paulie to ask James if she wants to make him some slop. James says he’s a big boy and will make his own slop. Such an overreaction. Poor Natalie, she can’t choose a good man in the house. James finally has a lady interested in him and he’s burning it. Well, they seem to be getting along now.
Natalie goes in for a hug and James quickly touches her breasts. It looked awkward but the showmance is a real mance – for now.
Frank is talking to Paulie and Corey about maybe keeping Tiffany. In DR, Corey can see why they should get rid of Da’vonne. Paulie is adamant about getting rid of Tiffany.
Tiffany tries to talk to Nicole about voting out Da’vonne. Tiffany comes on so aggressive, like she rehearsed it in her head and now is trying to get all of the words out, as fast as possible. She does the same to Paulie. It is so exhausting to hear her game. Paulie is now concern about Da’vonne blowing up his game.
Da’vonne walks away from all of the houseguests in the kitchen. Da’vonne goes upstairs to find Zakiyah and Michelle. Two people Production doesn’t care about. One of the rules of Big Brother – if you are on the block, don’t let the house see what it is like to not have you around in it. You have to be present.
Da’vonne makes the mistake of telling James she wants the showmances out of the house. She meant Nicole / Corey and Paulie/ Zakiyah. Poor James, he’s currently IN A SHOWMANCE with Natalie! He will be Da’vonne’s target after a few weeks. James rightfully tells Paulie, so now he’s even more convince to let Da’vonne go.
The Battle Back, whoever goes home actually goes to the special Friday episode that airs tonight (it is 5:20 am right now as I type this). I’ve been catching some flack as I just learn of this Friday episode last night. Apparently they have said it on the show but I must have missed the two mentions of it.
Julie Chen, showing the similarities of the siblings. Tiffany is a hot mess, like her sister Vanessa. Paulie is a flirt, like his brother Cody. Is Paulie older than Cody? Their father’s name is Paul, is why I’m asking. I don’t miss Vanessa, at all. Tiffany’s shared DNA isn’t what makes Vanessa a target – it is her emotional outbursts and crazy style of talking.
Frank has been barely shown this week. Which is probably the right call on his part, lay low.
Speeches. Audio problems! Da’vonne tries to keep it light. Natalie is nervous and gives James a shoutout, she keeps hers fun. Tiffany has put on her normal face and voice, is this the mask?
Paul looks like Paulie 2.0, that must be on purpose, right?
Votes.
Michelle – Tiffany
Zakiyah – Tiffany
James – Tiffany, he thought about it
Commercial Break.
Nicole – Tiffany, not confidant
Frank – Tiffany – it is official, Tiffany is heading out tonight
Corey – Tiffany
Bridgette – Tiffany, with regrets
Paul – Tiffany, first vote in quite some time.
Tiffany got all the votes! I hoe she doesn’t win the Battle Back! Ideally, she is too emotional to play and can’t concentrate. OR! That they just send her packing immediately. I’m still hoping that Glenn wins and gets to play after spending so much time in sequester.
Chenbot asks Tiffany about her game choices. Something that has been recapped enough. Nothing new is coming out of this. Tiffany would not be so emotional if she was given a second chance to play, she’ll dial it back. her DNA won’t allow her ot keep her emotions in check. The goodbyes are friendly enough. Whoa, they shouldn’t have shown Da’vonne’s. I guess Production figures those two won’t work together. Tiffany’s mind is blown over Battle Back.
Julie announces that the teams and BB Road Kill are coming to an end. Once Battle Back is done, we’ll be back to Proper Big Brother.
CBS All Access has twice now not aired the full basketball Verizon commercial. We get the first few seconds and then it skips. They will have to do two make-goods.
Battle Back. This must be the jury house. Glenn wasn’t evicted, he didn’t win a competition. He’ll go after the Vets. Jozea. I guess it isn’t jury house as he’s by himself. Who is he playing volleyball with? Victor, definitely in a third house, is trying to be more zen. Bronte has been tanning and relaxing. She’ll come back with vengeance! I don’t really miss any of these people.
Julie tells the houseguests that the team twist is done. Also the BB Road Kill is over and there will only be two nominees.
No Head of Household? I guess they are going to allow the Battle Back winner to compete in that comp as well. Which is the way to do it as that winner is going to be target numero uno.
Julie also hinted that a secret is going to be revealed. My wife told me that is referencing Pandora’s Box that is coming back.
I’m working at Hastings tonight so I should be able to watch tonight’s episode when I get home.
My wife tells me that the feeds are down for the next few days because of this. I guess tonight’s episode is going to be live too as Julie will be there.
Who won PoV? Will they use it on Corey, Tiffany or Natalie? Let’s find out!
Nicole is crying as Tiffany nominated Corey. Natalie feels alone but she isn’t crying to every single person.
30 minutes before BB Road Kill. Paulie tries to confront Tiffany but she plays it off. She’s super awkward but she’ standing her ground.
Is James working with Frank, Bridgette and Tiffany? Or is he just cool in every room he goes in? He’s just trying to get the two sides of the house to go at each other and he’ll choose a side afterwards.
Frank talks to Corey, he’s not too worried about Veto. Frank tries to talk to Da’vonne next and she just wants to eat her potato chips. Frank, he can never read a rooNataliem.
Paul likes to bake muffins. Apparently they are pretty good too.
Veto Players.
Paulie – Da’vonne – Paul
Natalie
Tiffany
Corey
For once, none of the nominees had their name pulled.
Zakiyah is the host. There is a chocolate / candy Willy Wonka theme going on.
Player chooses another player and they have to match the picture, in rounds.
Round One – Corey vs Tiffany (smart on his part) Corey wins! Tiffany can’t win Veto, yay!
Round Two – Paul vs Natalie (he chose her) Paul wins! Nooo! I wanted Natalie to be safe!
Round Three – Paulie vs Da’vonne (she really didn’t want to play) Paulie won.
Round Four – Corey vs Paul (they are going to throw it, so Paul wins and he takes Corey off so both can be safe) Paul doesn’t figure it out and Corey has to win it so they could go inside.
Round Five – Corey vs Paulie – Corey wins! Proving he only looks dumb, I guess.
So Corey is going to take himself down so Tiffany gets to pick the new nominee. So Da’vonne is crying. She regrets not sending Tiffany home last week. Which I knew was going to happen.
Corey isn’t going to brag about his big win. Michelle looked like she was going to hug him but he walked right pass her. Has she not been on this show for a while now? She must be hiding from the cameras or the action.
Da’vonne tries to talk to Tiffany but doesn’t come off well. Tiffany talks to James about how weird that quick chat was. She wants to put Da’vonne up. That could be a real game change.
Veto Ceremony.
Corey used the Veto on himself, no speeches were said. Tiffany has nominated . . . Da’vonne! No surprise there.
I’m still hoping that Tiffany goes home Thursday night but I can see the house seeing a chance to get Da’vonne out. Time will tell.
Poor Natalie is still on the block.
She shouldn’t be up there but she also shouldn’t get any votes either.
There is an Original Trek meets Original X-Men (plus Bishop, Storm and Wolverine – of course) but that one doesn’t involve Kitty so it lacks being in my collection. This one, involves the best series of the Star Trek franchise – The Next Generation. Largely due to them having the best captain, Jean-Luc Picard. Though those first two seasons are hard to watch, largely due to the heavy focus on Wesley Crusher and Data. So the next generation of the Enterprise meets the next generation of the X-Men.
This story takes place a minute after Star Trek : First Contact –
Thanks to YouTuber Nathan Travis for hosting the trailer!
In that film, old nemesis (and possibly the most dangerous) The Borg go back in time to stop humans “first contact” with an alien race. Hence why this is titled, Second Contact. The Enterprise is in back in time, already but not only go further in time but they also go into an alternate universe where the X-Men are.
In fact, this comic starts one minute after the end credits of that film. Which I really need to see if I can find a copy of the film to watch.
The cast of the two teams are –
Star Trek : Next Generation : Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Commander William T. Rider, Commander Data, Commander Deanna Troi, Dr. Beverly Crusher, Lt. Commander Geordi LaForge, Lt. Commoner Worf and the Borg. X-Men : Wolverine, Storm, Angel, Nightcrawler, Kitty Pryde, Colossus, Banshee, Kang, Sentinels and the Thunderbolts.
Captain’s Log. April 5, 2063 – or so. The Enterprise is trying to wade through time to get back to their present. Once out of warp, they notice they are not near their Earth.
Editor “Continuity Chief” Timothy Tuohy lets us know that this issue takes place before X-Men Zero Tolerance, Heroes Return and Thunderbolts 10 – so we know exactly where we are.
Their attempt to go forward in time has caused them to go backwards in time. Geordi informs them that they need to replace their processing core. Crusher tries to explain that this primitive Earth shouldn’t have that type of continuity. Riker corrects her, there is Shi’ar tech that has been located and will work. Little do they know how much alien life has come into contact with this Earth. Picard is going to send two away teams – to the two locations in North America that has the technology they need.
The first team – Worf, Riker and Crusher, come across the Thunderbolts. In the late 90s, in Star Trek time, New York City should be in the Eugenics War. The three have come to the Baxter Building, which is currently the homebase of the Thunderbolts. Their twelfth issue is so great.
Since the first team came across costume folk, they abandon that goal and try a nice country home in Westchester.
Banshee likes that the X-Men have come together, not during a time of crisis, but to just hang out. This really is a decent group of seven X-Men. Angel serves as the Original Five placeholder; Kitty, Kurt and even Colossus represent Excalibur as well as the inclusion of Storm and Wolverine adds to the 35th Anniversary era. Banshee is the lone holdout, except he adds another face from the Second Class of X-Men.
Kitty likes it when they gather too.
The second away team is – Geordi, Data and Troi. Geordi locates the Shi’ar tech behind a panel. Before he can make much progress, Wolverine pops his two outer claws around Geordi’s throat. Data grabs Wolverine by the shoulder and merely flings him across the room. We get a fun match up between Data and Colossus. Colossus throws a punch, Data tries to catch it but ends up on the other side of the room, as well.
Troi gets between the boyz and quickly explains that they are from the Enterprise. Wolverine recognizes the name of the starship from the previous teamup.
Later, Picard can’t believe that he is following in the footsteps of his most illustrious predecessor.
Such a great double splash page of two groups together. The X-Men took the time to get dressed, as did Geordi, Data and Troi.
We get a very quick recap of the previous crossover. Picard also recaps his film, so now everyone knows what happened before they each woke up this morning.
Kitty, as the smartest person in the room, announces that the Enterprise being here is causing a major upset in the timestream.
I love how much Wolf and Wolverine (who are great together) are so over timelines and alternate Earths. A stable of both franchises.
Troi states that an evil presence is is about to arrive.
That force is . . . Kang! An Avengers villain but the X-Men don’t really have a time traveling foe so the villain borrowing makes sense. Always better to use an established character instead of creating a new one.
Is only Banshee facing Kang? That’s not good staging on Kang’s behalf.
Kang doesn’t waste too much time explaining the stakes. There is a grave disruption in the time space continuities, so the two franchises’ histories are about to mix. As fun as it is to read, it isn’t great for the characters. There are two huge anomalies that need intimidate attention.
I do like Picard and Storm having asides with each other.
Riker’s providing a log. Kang gave them eight chronal compass watches, so there will be two groups of four characters. Team One is – Colossus, Picard, Troi and Kurt. Team Two is – Wolverine, Data, Storm and Worf. A bit of an odd grouping for both sets. At least Wolverine and Worf makes sense. Surprised the writers didn’t try to put Colossus and Data on the same teams, or some other fun combo like Picard and Storm on the same team.
That leaves poor Kitty, Angel and Banshee just standing around on the Enterprise-E.
Team One goes to the Days of Future Past timeline – the most famous of the X-Men’s alternate histories. Makes sense that Colossus is on this team as his future self is in the storyline. Storm was too so she really should have been on this team. I guess Wolverine and Kitty could have been there too.
Kurt talks about this as if it makes perfect sense, I guess Rachel probably painted a very visual telling of this future. 2013 is still the far future, in the late 90s. Filthy flatscans begin to throw rocks at the mutants and Starfleet officers. Sentinels arrive on scene and everyone scatters.
Team Two. Data recognizes that they are in the middle of The Battle of Wolf 359 –
This happens during Star Trek Next Generation’s Best of Both Worlds Part II and Deep Space Nine’s pilot, Emissary, during Captain Sisko’s flashback. Picard was assimilated into the Borg fold at this point. The Borg use his knowledge of Starfleet to make short work of the opposition.
The battle from Emissary –

The aftermath (and the lead up) from Best of Both Worlds, Part II –

So for those folks who are not familiar with Star Trek / Borg canon, that’s the best I can do. I hope it helps.
Worf and Wolverine start tearing into the Borg. Storm whips up a tornado, which may not be the smartest move on a spaceship. With a lightning strike, the Borg are taken out.
Days of Future Past. Picard takes down a Sentinel. As do Colossus and Kurt. Troi feels like something is missing. Kang, talking aloud, to himself. He reveals, to himself, his own plans, that the anomalies are keeping history together, so once the heroes fix those two pieces – history should be for Kang’s taking.
On the bridge of the Enterprise. Two officers are getting restless, as Kitty has to watch on. Just then, Wesley Crusher and the Traveler arrive.
Traveler explains how Kang is tricking them into doing his bidding. The anomalies need to stay in place, as time fixes itself.
I do like the idea of Wesley and Kitty being a pair. Traveler is going to guide the Enterprise to where Kang is. Mr. Crusher and Ms. Pryde are going to warn the teams.
As the two youngsters leave, Banshee and Angel reflect on how Kitty has grown up.
Battle of Wolf 359. Sisko is giving orders to Thunderbird, so we know he is the anomaly. Now we just need Sunfire and all of the Second Class folks would be present. Well, and Cyclops too, I suppose.
Wolverine is about to kill Thunderbird (as he’s better than Count Nefaria, I guess). Luckily, Kitty arrives and hugs Wolverine. Wesley is forced to yell at Data to not do anything that Kang told them to do. Storm wants an explanation, I would have just taken Kitty at her word. I’m good like that.
Just then, Sisko is about to be killed when Proudstar takes the hit – like a champ.
Data suspects that Kang wanted Sisko to die so that he never becomes the Emissary of the Prophets. Wesley tells them to use their watches to go back to the Enterprise. Kitty and him need to catch up to the other team. Worf respects how brave Kitty is.
Kang breaks a monitor, as the Enterprise attacks. Kang isn’t gong to go down quietly.
Days of Future Past. We get to see Tasha Yar filling in for Rachel Grey, as Kate Pryde sleeps. Well, as she’s back in the 80s and it is really Kitty’s mind that is taking the nap.
Kurt is able to work in the phase “Days of Future Past” which can’t be easy to do.
Troi confirms this isn’t their Tasha Yar.
Picard can’t bring himself to kill Yar. Wesley and Kitty arrive to stop what Picard has already decided to not do.
Borg inspired Sentinels break through the walls.
I don’t quite get how Tasha Yar was able to send Kate’s mind back to the past, that isn’t part of her skill set. She was a kick arse Security Chief.
Troi volunteers to replace Yar and get the two Prydes minds back to their rightful bodies.
Colossus and Kitty are taking out SentiBorgs.
Wait, did Colossus fastball special Kitty? He’s been doing that since before Whedon did it, that’s pretty awesome.
Kitty destroys a head of a SentiBorg and lands. She sees Troi syncing Yar and Kate’s minds.
Kitty, for the first time, witnesses the event that has been a pretty pivotal moment in her history. One of the first real defining stories of hers.
Wait, am I reading Troi’s dialogue correctly? Kate’s mind is going back to Tasha Yar’s younger mind? Shouldn’t this have been Rachel doing this to a sleeping Yar? That would have make more sense.
Riker, Banshee and the Traveler are on Kang’s ship. As soon as Traveler is finished tampering with Kang’s ship, the come back to the bridge. Picard and the gang are waiting for him.
The two ships begin a fire fight. The Enterprise ends the duel with a win.
Captain’s Log, Kang’s ship imploded onto itself. Kitty kisses Wesley on the cheek! If only we could get a tad more of that relationship. The two teams say their good byes.
The X-Men return to Earth and one second later, are beginning the adventure of Planet X, which we’ll be reviewing in a few days.
